What Are The Best Guns in Bloodborne?
The Soulsborne series has always had a parry option, which enables the player character to predict the enemy’s attack and parry accordingly. This is considerably harder in the Dark Souls series due to the window being extremely short, and the frames being tricky to predict. Not to mention, you have to become a literal parry god to actually get results.
But that’s not the case in Bloodborne, as parrying is made quite trivial due to the guns you possess. Not only is it more fun, but you still do damage, so even if you miss the timing, there is at least something you did to the enemy.
The following list consists of the guns that are considered the best in Bloodborne.
5. Cannon (Best for making things go kaboom)
Starting off with a controversial opinion but I personally believe the Cannon deserves a spot on this list, not because it can absolutely devastate anyone, but because it’s able to even parry one of the worst bosses: Watchdog of the Old Lords. And trust me, you want that lovely parry off of that bastard.
Not to mention, you can try the Glass Cannon build for basically destroying the living shit out of anything. This and the Pile Driver are two of the strongest weapons in the game.
However, the fact that it consumes a lot of Quicksilvers doesn’t really make it a versatile weapon. That’s why the aforementioned Glass Cannon build should always be prioritized if one aims for this weapon.
The following are its stats:
- Blood Attack: 200
- VS Kin: 100
- VS Beast: 100
- Durability: 200
To wield this beast, you must have the following stats:
- Strength - 30
- Skill - 13
- Bloodtinge Scaling E
- Quicksilver Bullet Usage: 12
What’s good about this weapon:
- Can remove a huge chunk of an enemy’s health, while also parrying the huge bosses.
- While 2 is the maximum you can do normally, you can get up to 4 shots with certain runes equipped.
- Glass Cannon baby.
- The Great Ones fear this weapon. (Not really, but their health bar disagrees)

4. Hunter Blunderbuss (Best for those who haven’t yet adapted to the Parry system)
The Hunter Blunderbuss is one of the two weapons you can get at the beginning of the game. It’s not as good as the Hunter Pistol sure, nor is it a relatively “good” weapon per se. But then what is it doing in this list?
Simple. It’s for new players, mostly. Anyone who hasn’t yet adjusted themselves to the parry system can have a blast with this weapon. Be warned though, since this weapon, requires you to be closer to the enemy, but be assured that you parry would almost always work since the bullets are spread. Best weapon for a shotgun fan.
The following are its stats:
- Blood Attack: 20
- VS Kin: 100
- VS Beast: 100
- Durability: 150
Since it’s an early-game weapon, anyone can wield it but the following are its requirements:
- Strength 7
- Skill 9
- Bloodtinge 5 with Scaling D
- Quicksilver Bullet Usage: 1
What’s good about this weapon:
- Perfect for new players.
- Has a great spread, works well with crowds and mobs.
- Better chances to parry.
This weapon is available from the start.
3. Ludwig’s Rifle (Best for looking cool as hell)
Just look at that design, damn. You know a weapon is good if it has Ludwig in the name. The half-horse, half-human has done it again, by producing a weapon that’s great for anyone. It has easy requirements meaning anyone can wield it. Similar to the Blunderbuss, it also spreads its bullet, but they are more in a narrower direction, meaning it can even hit well at a distance.
The following are its stats:
- Blood Attack: 20
- VS Kin: 100
- VS Beast: 100
- Durability: 150
To become Ludwig’s Right-hand man, you must meet the following requirements:
- Strength 9
- Skill 10
- Bloodtinge 9 with Scaling E
- Quicksilver Bullet Usage: 1
What’s good about this weapon:
- In PVE, it can create generous openings for visceral attacks.
- In PVP, its used for ranged parrying, and keeping foes off of you.
- Looks rad as hell.

2. Evelyn (Best for Bloodtinge Builds)
Anyone who has played Bloodborne and went for a Bloodtinge Build knows for a fact that Evelyn is the one beast to possess the moment you go for that build.
It has the highest Bloodtinge scaling among all the Guns in Bloodborne, does great damage and is an overall amazing weapon. Not to mention, this is the weapon that Lady Maria also wields.
The following are its stats:
- Blood Attack: 60
- VS Kin: 100
- VS Beast: 100
- Durability: 100
Requires a lot of Bloodtinge scaling but worth it ultimately:
- Strength 9
- Skill 11
- Bloodtinge 18 with B scaling.
- Quicksilver Bullet Usage: 1
What’s good about this weapon:
- Is amazing for Bloodtinge builds as it can devastate enemies.
- Has one of the slickest designs alongside the fact it makes you feel like a boss.
- Has a unique firing animation.

1. Hunter Pistol (Best for being best)
Generally, in most RPGs, the first weapon is usually the worst. As proved by the Saw Cleaver, this is clearly not the case. The same is true with the Hunter Pistol as it ends up being the most versatile and perfect-for-anyone weapon.
Hunter Pistol has no level requirement that would be too much for any character, to begin with. Second this, with its generous parry timings and it works well because usually, most characters don’t care for Bloodtinge as a stat. While it can be hard to hit moving targets with it, with enough practice you realize just how efficient this weapon is.
The following are its stats:
- Blood Attack: 70
- VS Kin: 100
- VS Beast: 100
- Durability: 100
Any build can use this weapon as you can see:
- Strength 7
- Skill 9
- Bloodtinge 5 with D Scaling.
- Quicksilver Bullet Usage: 1
What’s good about this weapon:
- Early access, early ass kicking.
- Good for any boss.
- Very versatile and satisfying to use.
This weapon is available from the start.
