So you enjoy playing the short kings, but you’re not sure who's the stronger one? Well, there’s only one dwarf race in Realms of Chaos, and those are the Chaos Dwarfs. If you play Immortal Empires, there are two Dwarf races, which are the Chaos ones and the normal standard ones.
If you are wondering what factions are, they are pretty much tribes, people, or nations that act together. Each faction has a specific legendary lord who leads it. Additionally, each lord has different abilities, starting positions, and even special units. So now that you know what factions are, let's rank them and see who’s the strongest!
3. Disciples of Hashut
These guys are being led by the Astargoth Ironhand, a pretty strong lord, in my opinion. Any climate is suitable for this faction; they don't have a preference. Besides, their starting location is Uzkulak, Zorn Uzkul, and its way up in the north in the dark wastelands. They come with some faction effects, such as being able to gain +10% conclave influence from all sources.
Their research rate increased by 10%, and they gave +2 control in all provinces. When it comes to their legendary lord, he also gives some passive effects to his armies, such as a +5% replenishment rate for all units and a ward save for bull centaur renders.
In the Realms of Chaos campaign, their main objective is to bind four ancestral relics to the Great Drill and win the final battle of the Great Drill. If you play the Immortal Empires campaign, you’ll be able to have a short or long victory, which are just the basics like razing settlements, occupying a region, and destroying other factions.
Choose Disciples of Hashut If:
- You will be expanding your territory a lot.
- If you want your research rate to be 10% higher.
- The faction starts in a province with enough resources that will help you out with your economy.
- If you want to increase your units replenishment rate by 5%.
2. The Warhost of Zharr
The faction can be located in the western part of the Dark Lands. The faction already has two parts of their province under their control and can capture the whole province in one turn. As with the previous faction, this can also live in any climate. Their legendary lord or leader is Zhatan The Black.
He is a melee expert, and he is axed infantry, armored, and shielded. He also has a special ability where he can brace against a charge and will negate all charge bonuses from the enemy. For his lord effects, he can capture +15% casualties post battle and the lord local recruitment is increased by 1.
In addition to that, the faction also has some effects, such as the fact that the maximum number of convoys is increased by 1 and the recruitment cost for all artillery and war machines is -50%. The victory objective for Realms of Chaos and Immortal Empires is the same as with the previous faction above.
Choose Warhost of Zharr If:
- If you're building a lot of artillery and war machines, the recruitment cost is 50% off.
- If you want to have a strong melee expert legendary lord who is also tanky in battle.
- If you're gonna be capturing a lot of casualties.
- If you don't want a hard start and want to complete your province in one turn to gain the bonuses from it.
1. The Legion of Azgorh
This faction is led by Drazhoath the Ashen, and like the previous two, he can also live in any climate. Their starting location in Realms of Chaos is in the Black Fortress, Gnoblar Country. It's in the southern region of the dark lands. The legendary lord of this faction is a wizard and a great spellcaster. He is also good in melee combat and can hold his own against other melee infantry units.
He also comes with some passive effects, such as a campaign movement range increase of 10% and a -25% gold upkeep for K'daai units. But when it comes to the faction, they also have some unique effects, such as a -10% capacity for all unit capacity upgrades in the Hell Forge and a +10% armament output. The victory objectives for Realms of Chaos and Immortal Empires are pretty much the same.
Choose the Legion of Azgorh If:
- You want to play as one of the strongest legendary lords in the game.
- If you want reduced upkeep for all K'daai units under Drazhoath.
- If you want a -10% capacity for all units in the Hell Forge.
- If you have a playstyle where you use a lot of magic and spells.
