Play as the most powerful vampire in all of Skyrim!
If there’s an aspect of Skyrim that you’ve ever wanted to change, you can bet there’s a mod for it! You have the chance to interact with vampires throughout the world, especially with the Dawnguard DLC. Your character can take on this path of evil, but the gameplay for vampires leaves something to be desired. These mods are guaranteed to add some excitement to your game.
10. Better Vampire NPCs
This mod is less focused on your player character and more so on the other vampires around you. NPC vampires for the most part are pretty similar and don’t vary much in difficulty either. This mod solves these issues.
Features:
- Vampires in the world scale with your characters level, learning new spells as you advance to provide a better challenge
- Vampires will appear in a variety of classes and appearances, increasing in paleness according to their strength
- Their new weapons can infect your character with Sanguinare Vampiris, as well as dropping blood gems upon death which you can use to craft their new Bloodglass weapons

9. Realistic Night Eye and Vampire’s Sight
This is a simple mod that aims to improve the Night Eye and Vampire’s Sight spells. The spells as they are in the vanilla game aren’t as useful as they could be, so this mod would be great to use when playing a vampire character.
Features:
- Removes the blue hue on the screen
- Reduces the saturation, removes radial blur, and brightens the image
- 60 second time limit on the spell removed so it can be toggled freely

8. True Hybrid- Tainted Blood of the Dragonborn
This mod is great for someone who truly wants their character to be the most powerful they can be. Normally, your character has the choice of being either a werewolf or a vampire through their respective questlines. True Hybrid allows you to be both at the same time, allowing for a unique play style.
Features:
- Your character goes through the quests to become a vampire and werewolf just as you normally would, except now you don’t have to choose
- Alternatively, you can play as a regular character with the ability to shapeshift into these forms
- Compatible with most of the mods on this list, and easy to install or uninstall mid-playthrough

7. DVA Dynamic Vampire Appearance
This mod introduces more variety to your character’s appearance. Now your character will visibly change while going through the stages of vampirism. Everything this mod has is tweakable to your liking.
Features:
- Obvious appearance changes through the four stages of vampirism, ending with a very pale and blood-shot face
- Glowing eyes during combat, as well as a different glow effect when Vampiric Sight is being used
- Your character will have visible blood on their mouth after feeding, and how long it stays visible is customizable

6. Bloodthirst
This immersive mod allows vampire NPCs to feed on others just as your character would. Many factors play into who they choose to feed on. This mod will make all of the vampires in your game much more realistic and adds to your experience.
Features:
- Vampires will choose their victims at night, in dark well-hidden areas. If they are in danger of getting caught, they will retreat and try again
- Moral vampires like Serana will never choose to feed on their friends
- Vampires can feed on others in combat, and some high-level foes can restore their health by feeding

5. Vampire Beasts- Mihail Monsters and Animals
The Dawnguard DLC added a few new creatures for your character to battle. As cool as they are, they are repetitive and can get old fast. This mod addresses this by adding a bunch of vampiric creatures that feel right at home in the game.
Features:
- 7 brand new terrifying vampiric beasts
- Every monster has its own sounds, loot, spells, and effects
- The mod author has created extensive lore for all of the creatures on the mod page, making the mod feel very immersive

4. Better Vampire Weapons
This mod may sound like it just adds some new weapons to the game, but it’s much more than that. Better Vampire Weapons adds tons of new locations and well thought out quests that lead to you acquiring these weapons. This mod is considered a prequel to the mod Coldhaven which I will talk about later in this list.
Features:
- New locations such as vampire dens, lairs, and forges are well hidden throughout Skyrim
- The quest in this mod encourages you to think for yourself and discover things on your own. The mod author encourages you to not look at their hints to make it more challenging
- The new locations have new materials, weapons, and enchantments to discover

3. Sacrosanct- Vampires of Skyrim
A vampire lord destroying enemies with blood magic.
Sacrosanct will completely change how you play your vampires. Being a vampire with this mod changes your whole play style as opposed to the vanilla game. This mod adds passive abilities that are good and bad since vampirism is as much a curse as it is a gift. There are way more features in this mod than I can list here, so go check it out!
Features:
- The more you feed victims to death, the stronger you become, and you can gain more power by feeding on powerful characters
- Big improvements to the vampire lord form, from abilities, spells, and perks
- You become weaker the longer it has been since you fed, forcing you to never forget your curse while playing

2.Coldhaven- A Vampire City
Coldhaven is a unique but huge addition to your game. Legend has it that with the threat of the Dawnguard, a group of vampires fled underground and created a hidden city. Add this mod to your game to see if the rumors are true and discover Coldhaven for yourself!
Features:
- A brand new city with new shops, taverns, inns, and even a player home to call your own
- Quests throughout the city to discover more about its inhabitants and their secrets
- Starting the quest to get to this city is as easy as visiting an inn and speaking to the innkeeper

1. Better Vampires
This mod is another huge overhaul that changes vampire gameplay entirely. It does share some similarities to Sacrosanct from earlier in this list, so it will be up to you whichever you prefer based on their differences. As with Sacrosanct, this mod has way too many features for me to cover them all.
Features:
- Increased damage is taken from silver weapons, the ability to extract blood potions from your victims
- Your progress as a vampire depends on how many victims you have fed on, as well as feeling weak when you haven’t fed in a long time
- Certain stages of vampirism will cause people to attack you on sight with no warning, so you have to think about how you play
