To start Tera Raids online, join one in the Poké portal or host one by interacting with a Tera crystal on Paldea, Kitikami, and Blueberry Academy. You can always Tera Raid offline.
It's important to use the right Pokémon because there are plenty of factors that come to mind, such as:
- Type strengths and weaknesses
- IV's and EV's
- Moves it can learn
- Natures it can learn
- Abilities it can learn
All Tera Raids have different difficulties, but the most important Tera Raids are here below.
- 4-Star Tera Raids require Pokémon level 45 and up.

Are some Pokemon stronger than others for Tera Raid?
Yes, there are! It depends on their type and Tera-type and the variety of movesets and IVs they have.
However, when it comes to Tera Raids, IV's are super important.
IV's are individual values in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
IVs are an overview of a Pokémon's stats, such as Attack, Special Attack, Defense, Special Defense, HP, and Speed.
Natures, Abilities, held items, and particular moves can heighten those IV's during the Tera Raid.
As a disclaimer, you can always tweak your Pokémon by changing its moves, nature, and abilities. Changing its nature will highly affect its base stats, making you start fresh and aim for different moves and abilities.

Analysis:
Fighting and ghost types are rare and must need 1 teammate with a Water-type Pokémon to get the best out of Annihilape’s abilities.
An ideal build for Annihilape is to Hyper Train its health, attack, speed, and special attack. The shell bell will try to prevent Annihilape from dying during the Tera raid. Combine moves using Bulk Up first, and then secondly, lead with Cross Chop to gain a critical hit to threaten the Tera targets massive health. Moves like Rage Fist is an alternate move meant to break through the Tera Shield when Annihilape will take lots of damage during that time. These moves are well suited for its IVs because you want to get the most out of Bulk Up to raise Rage Fist's power.
Not many players may select Annihilape because players need to be incredibly precise about combining Bulk Up with Cross Chop or Rage Fist. On top of that, they have to be aggressive and can’t have time to be complacent. Players must anticipate when the Tera Shield comes and when negative conditions can harm them and their teammates. It’s easy to misuse Annihilape because players may get knocked out so often that time runs out and the Tera Raid fails.
To accommodate Annihilape’s weakness, teammates may need to select a Water-type Pokémon with water moves benefiting from Annihilape's Rain Dance.
Use Rain Dance to summon heavy rain to power up your team's Water-Type attacks and lower Fire-Type attacks.
Use Bulk Up to boost Annihilape’s Attack and Defense stats.
Use Cross Chop as Annihilape attacks the target with its forearms crossed. Use this move for critical hits.
Use Rage Fist when Annihilape has been hit by many attacks. The more damage Annihilape endures, this move becomes more powerful.
Advice:
Annihilape is a gem when you need a fighting and ghost Pokémon to cover various difficult types. You play 2 roles by using it.
Your primary role is to be aggressive using Bulk Up and Rage Fist. The shell bell may be useful to gain some health as Annihilape’s health must be accurate. It's most powerful at lower health, such as when it's at 20-30% damage. With hyper-trained speed, there may be few chances that it may dodge critical damage.
Your secondary role while playing Annihilape is to cancel out negative conditions with its move Rain Dance. For instance, if the Tera target is using Sunny Day, cancel Sunny Day with Rain Dance to prevent the Tera target from boosting its Fire-type attack. At the same time, you may help a teammate with a Water-type Pokémon that can lead with a follow-up Water-type attack.

Use moves such as Liquidation to lower the target's defense and Tera Blast to break through the target's Tera Shield. The moves you'll activate the most are Helping Hand by boosting your teammates' attacks and Light Screen to reduce damage from special moves. These moves are well suited for its IV's because you'll want to get the most out of its defense and strong HP withstanding lots of damage.
Azumarill is very weak in Attack, so it needs many enhancements, such as an Adamant Nature, a huge power ability, and an expert belt. These items help boost its physical attack power. Azumarill may also lack Speed and Special Attack. Allies must choose a Pokémon with Hyper Trained Speed and Special Attack that can dodge incoming attacks and already leads with a boosted Special Attack power.
Azumarill can learn Bellydrum, a move that deducts half of the user's maximum HP (rounded down) from its current HP. In return, it maximizes the user's Attack stat by raising it to 6 stages. This move is useful in Tera Raids so Azumarill can break the Tera-Type's shield.
Use Helping Hand to increase your Ally’s attack.
Use Tera Blast when Azumarill’s Terastilized. It will unleash energy of its Tera Type. This move inflicts damage using the Attack or Special Attack stat. In this case, Azumarill will use its Attack.
Use Liquidation as Azumarill will slam into the target using a full-force blast of water. This will lower the target’s Defense stat.
Use Light Screen to reduce damage from special moves for 5 turns
Advice:
Use Azumarill to become the main defense leader and chip in for Tera Shield damage when appropriate. Essentially, you want to be a reliable cheerleader, boosting your teammates' attacks and telegraphing the target's attacks with a light screen.
Emphasize physical moves such as Tera Blast and Liquidation to break through Tera Shields and have an Expert Belt and Huge Power ability to perform massive damage with those 2 attacks. Level up your Azumarill to 100 and hyper-train its HP, defense, attack, and special defense.

The Water Absorb Ability will counter Water-Tera type Pokémon because when Vaporeon gets hit by a Water-type move, it will restore its HP instead of taking damage. Calm Mind is its essential-niche move that will increase Special Defense moves like Fake Tears and special attack moves like Surf.
Use moves like Fake Tears and Haze to battle against many changes.
Fake Tears will lower the Tera-targets special defense, in case the Tera-target’s special defense is extremely strong. It may weaken the Tera shield, but not much since it's not an attack.
Haze will reset every stat change among all Pokémon in battle, meaning their stats reset to 0 and remove stat reductions due to burns and paralysis. It lifts effects of focus energy, dire hit, mist, leech seed, disable, reflect, and light screen from all sides of the field.
Use Vaporeon’s Calm Mind and follow up with Surf to be involved with the Tera-shield breaking in case the target weakens against Water-Tera-type moves.
Calm Mind is the best constant move since it will boost Vaporeon's Special Attack and Defense stats. However, don’t use Haze after using Calm Mind because it will eliminate Calm Mind’s effects.
Surf will attack the target with a large wave of water.
You will use Calm Mind in many situations and follow up with Fake Tears. This move set will assist your teammate's Pokémon with higher Attack stats, ensuring all their attacks hit and are critical hits. Vaporeon’s physical attack is the weakest. Other ally Pokémon with strong physical attack stats will help you. Your job is constantly lowering the target’s special defense as much as possible for attack accuracy.
In some situations, you may use Haze first to eliminate negative stat changes and then follow up with Calm Mind. For example, if your entire team gets hit with thunder and is paralyzed, Haze can remove that. Then Calm Mind can quickly boost your Special Defense and Special Attack.
Advice:
When you play Vaporeon, you act as a facilitator, ensuring the entire Tera Raid goes according to plan. Ensure it has its shell bell, as the Water Absorb Ability allows it to double its health recovery per turn.
You play two sides of the coin, mostly as a supporting Pokémon lowering the target's Special Defense and accuracy. You can also chip in to break the Target’s Tera Shield with Calm Mind and Surf. Do this when you know the target's Tera-type is weak against both Water-type and Water-Tera-type special attacks.
12. Chancey
Chancey’s Stats:

Chancey is immune to Dragon-Types when Terastilized as a Fairy-Type.
Chancey is a normal type that can have many great builds. One of its best builds is if it's a Psychic type to counter powerful Poison and Fighting Pokémon and your teammates need someone to assist in health recovery. Hyper-train its health, defense, and special defense.
The Natural Cure ability is intended to be Skill Swapped against raid Pokémon to remove their ability during the Tera Raid. Skill Swap and Sing will be the most important moves to repeat as they will cancel out the target’s ability and make the target go to sleep. The Eviolite will increase Chancey’s Defence and Special Defense because it can still evolve into Blissey.
Use the Life Dew ability to heal yourself and your team. There will be many times you will use this, so max out Life Dew’s PP level.
Use the Healing Wish ability when Chancey and your team are at low HP.
Use Skill Swap immediately in the Tera Raid to eliminate the target's ability. If the target’s ability will come into effect again, activate Skill Swap. This is because Chancey has the Natural Cure ability.
Use Sing to put the target to sleep. This will make the target sleep right away. Usually, Sing will make the target sleep for 1 - 3 turns, and it depends on how accurate it is and how strong your Special Defense stat is. You want to use this move when it is Tera Shield breaking time, and the target’s moves are skipped, allowing your teammates to launch attacks.
Useful advice using it:
When you play Chancey, your core job is to heal the team fast when at low HP. Cancel the target’s ability with Skill Swap when it is in effect. Use Sing to skip the target’s turn, hopefully in 1 - 3 moves.
Healing Wish will become essential, and you should only use it when Chansey gets knocked out. As a result, your team’s HP restores. It will eliminate negative status conditions. This is so helpful when facing Poison and Fighting-Type Pokémon.
For example, you and your team are poisoned by Poison Jab, Sludge Wave, or Thunder Punch, and Chancey will faint soon on the next turn because its HP is red. The team's HP is red too. Use Healing Wish so your team can get back to fighting shape.
11. Altaria

Use moves like Feather Dance to cover the target’s body with a mass of down that harshly lowers its Attack stat.
Use moves like Safeguard to create a protective field that prevents status conditions for 5 turns.

When you play Altaria, your role is counter-defensive. Protect your stats, and your team's stats at all costs. Use Feather Dance to lower the target’s Attack stat, and your team will lose less health during the Tera Raid.
You’re a partial attacker as Fairy attacks like Moonblast are highly effective against Fighting Dark Pokémon. Allies should help boost your overall moves, such as Helping Hand, to make Moonblast and Feather Dance more effective.

Use moves like Acid Spray to melt the target in acid, as it will lower their special defense stat.

Use moves like Sunny Day to bring out the sun for 5 turns, powering up Fire-Type attacks and Venusaur’s Solar Beam. It will lower Water-Type attacks.

Advice:
When you play as Venusaur, your job is to lower the target’s special defense and attack with special attacks. One downside is that there are lots of turns.
In the first 3 turns, use Acide Spray to lower the target’s defense and build Tera Orb charge.
4’th, use Sunny Day.
Your 5’th, 6’th, and 7’th turn should use Growth to prepare for Solar Beam.
The final moves is to use Solar Beam and knock out the target.
There are other Venusaur builds.
One of the 2’nd best builds is this moveset:
Give Venusaur the Scope Lens. It will allow it to get larger critical hits.

The idea here is that you want to keep restoring health and attacking the target when the target is sleeping and cannot use any moves against you and your team.

The main goal is to use growth 3 times and then make the target fall asleep after.

It’s immune to Poison-Types. Metagross will be a heavy-hitting attacker as the Razor Claw will boost Critical Hits, and the Clear Body ability will protect it from having its stats lowered from the target.
Use moves like Hone Claws to sharpen Metagross’ claws to boost its Attack stat and accuracy. Follow up with moves such as Meteor Mash, Hammer Arm, or Psychic Fangs.
Use Meteor Mash to hit the target with a hard punch like Meteor while still boosting the user's Attack stat.
After using Hone Claws, activate moves like Hammer Arm to inflict 100 damage toward the target’s Tera Shield. Unfortunately, this move will lower Metagross’s Speed stat.
After using Hone Claws, use Psychic Fangs to break the target’s Light Screen and Reflect barriers.
Useful advice using it:
When playing Metagross, your job is attacking while increasing your Attack boost. When breaking the Tera-Shield, use Hammer Arm plenty of times to increase a Critical Hit.
Meteor Mash will be your main attack because it will boost its attack stat through the attack instead of waiting for the next turn.
Use Psychic Fangs against the target's defensive moves. Depending on how well the Tera Raid goes, your teammates may assist in healing you or provide Special Defense moves or Special Attack moves since Metagross is weak in those fields.

The Scope Lens will boost moves like Focus Blast and Fury Cutter, as Focus Blast will increase the precision and power of Fury Cutter.
Use moves like X-Scissor to attack the target with scythes.
Use moves like Fury Cutter to attack the target with scythes. It may become more powerful if it hits in succession. The repeated move can build a critical hit combo.
Use moves like Swords Dance to increase Scizor’s Attack stat sharply.
Use moves like Focus Energy to let Scizor focus on its future attacks that may have a heightened chance of landing critical hits.
Advice:
When you play as Scizor, your job is to become a precise, heavy physical attacker. Mastering Scizor is incredibly difficult, as there is a lot of setup.
When entering the raid, Use Swords Dance about 3 times to sharply increase Attack stats.
In the 4’th turn, use Focus Energy to boost a critical hit rate.
In the 5th turn, use Fury Cutter to defeat the target’s Tera Shield and or knock it out successfully in one hit.
Alternatively, you can use X-Scissor at the start of the raid to build up a Tera-Orb charge and Terastilize quickly.
Scizor has other builds too:
Forget X-Scissor for Iron Head to counter Fairy, Ice, and Rock Tera-Types. Iron Head is a 80 Power 100 Accuracy move attacking with a steel-hard head.

3’rd, use Charge.

If you’ve already caught the Mightiest Mark Charizard, don’t change its stats, abilities, and Tera-Type. The Modest Nature will continue to increase its Special Attacks. All you have to do is tweak its moves depending on the Tera Raid you’ll attempt, then give it a Shell Bell.
Solar Power will become effective when Charizard uses Sunny Day to boost all its Special Attacks. However, this ability depletes its HP. The Shell Bell effectively regains health as Charizard’s main moves are attacks.
Use Sunny Day to power up Fire-Type moves such as Flamethrower.
Use Flamethrower to burst a blast of fire, which may leave the target with a burn.
Use Dragon Breath to inflict critical damage and to leave the target with paralysis.
Use Solar Beam to gather light on the first turn and blast a bundled beam on the next turn.
Advice:
When playing as Charizard, your role is to be an aggressive special attacker who continues to attack the target, depending on its type.
Your first move should activate Sunny Day to power up all Fire types in your team including yourself. It will also lower the power of Water Type attacks when you’re in a Water-Tera Type raid.
Aim to use many successful moves to Terastallize into the Dragon-Type to survive the Tera Raid. These moves depend on the type.

The Synchronize Ability counters the target using moves like Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, or Poison Jab. As Gardevoir is burned, paralyzed, or poisoned, the target will also have those conditions.
The Light Clay will increase the longevity of Light Screen and Reflect throughout a Tera Raid. They may stay in effect for 7 turns!

Skelridge is a special Fire and Ghost Type Pokémon that can learn Sound-Based moves. Increase the moves of Torch Song and Hyper Voice by giving it a Throat Spray. Use its Fire-Tera type to fight against Bug, Steel, Grass, and Ice Tera-type Pokémon. Unless facing Sound-proof Pokémon, the move Hyper Voice affects all types and breaks through Substitute.
Its Blaze ability will power up Fire-type moves when its HP is low and use Torch Song and Flamethrower to attack the target fast and defeat it.

Use moves like Swords Dance to increase the physical attacks of Dragon Claw, Earthquake, and Iron Head.
Use Dragon Claw against Dragon-Tera Types, as it will inflict damage with its sharp claws. It’s possible to get critical hits with this move when using Swords Dance 2 or 3 times beforehand to break a Dragon-Tera Type Shield.
