Kenshi is great. But Kenshi is greater with mods that affect graphics! Graphical mods can enhance performance, SSAO, SMAA, FXAA, and many more effects.
In today’s article, I’ll mention 10 useful graphical mods with download links. Hope you enjoy the article and let’s get started:
10. Age of Blood & Sand - Performance Addon
What the hell is that thing…
Let’s get started with a mod that will slightly improve our performance while playing Kenshi. Even though that Kenshi is fun as heck, some people might have problems running this game. This mod is also compatible with other graphical mods and it’s a must if you’re frame lagging for whatever reason!
Why the mod is great:
- Reduces particles in general
- Disables vines in swamps(boosts performance)
- Disables the flying robot thingies in The Ashlands(there is plenty of them and can cause lag, this mod fixes it).

9. Removed Weather Effects
Pesky acid rain!
If you have a base in The Great Desert, this mod is a must-have, it basically removes weather effects such as duststorms which can be annoying while traveling or fighting enemies. Acid rains in vain are also pretty obnoxious as they greatly limit your vision.
Why this mod is great:
- Improves vision by removing duststorms in The Great Desert and Vain
- Makes basing more fun in places that are usually littered with weather effects
- Travelling is safer due to you having more vision

8. Dustless Furniture
Get away, dust!
This is a mod that I’m using right now. I have a nice base inside of a crater in Stobe’s Gamble and I’ve decided to create a bar for my lovely inhabitants with DUSTLESS tables, chairs, shelves, and many more pieces of furniture. This is more of a cosmetic mod for people that have nothing else better to do in Kenshi, but I still love this mod!
Why this mod is great:
- Serves as a cool, cosmetic mod
- Removes the pointless dust off your beautiful furniture.
- Helps your characters who have dust allergies!

7. Radiant Better Faces & Eyes
They look pretty!
When you first launched Kenshi, you might have noticed that the characters in this game are… hideous. Even though you’ve edited their faces and such. Thanks to this mod, they will still look ugly, but more “radiant” - aka characters will have better-looking eye colors, improved facial textures, and many cool other features!
Why this mod is great:
- Special skeleton characters have their own unique models
- Improved textures
- Eye pupils of cannibals are spooky(they’ll give you insanity vibes)

6. Texture Options
A cool little mod!
I also use this mod, it loads the map in a shorter amount of time and gives a slight FPS boost. It’s a useful mod if loading times in this game are driving you to the brink of insanity. Also easy to install!
Why this mod is great:
- Reduces the loading time
- FPS boost
- I have no clue what else to add here, it’s probably one of the most useful mods to have in Kenshi!

5. Darker Landscape
Doesn’t affect stealth.
The point of this mod is to simply make the landscapes appear to be darker. It’s a cool mod if you want to make more bright areas in this game darker. It can also make the game more immersive in certain places, like in Sonorous Dark or Foglands.
Why this mod is great:
- Makes everything more immersive, aka this mod fits in Sonorous Dark due to its disturbing inhabitants
- Makes obnoxious brightening in some areas less obnoxious
- Darker is always better!

4. TSUKI
Looks like a War of the Worlds scene!
Another lovely graphical mod that can be customized. It affects effects such as depth of field, color grading, and ambient occlusion. The mod basically has better shaders and makes everything look more colorful. Nice to have!
Why this mod is great:
- Makes the red acid rain in Vain redder!
- The game appears to be more lively in colors, especially in zones like The Swamps, Leviathan Coasts, etc
- Works with some mods

3. Kenshi Visuality Series - Cel Shady
I think that’s cannibal territory…. looks pretty though!
This mod affects shaders. Basically, it makes your Kenshi look like a comic book. It affects everything from terrain to buildings, plants, characters, equipment, etc. Fun mod if you’re a Kenshi Youtuber and you want to make awesome thumbnails for your videos!
Why this mod is great:
- Makes your Kenshi look like a cartoon book!
- Outlines characters
- Also effects lighting in nights

2. Ranno's ReshadePreset 1.2.0
Blood. Blood everywhere.
This mod makes everything look more bloomy and Californish, it gives more life to the world of Kenshi and a zone like even Sonorous Dark or The Ashlands will seem more lively! I was surprised that I could run Kenshi with this mod too…
Why this mod is great:
- Makes everything look more alive
- A Lot more details when it comes to terrain
- One of the most gorgeous graphical mods in Kenshi IMO!

1. Qvacus' Reshade
Is there a difference between working in retail and working in Rebirth?
This is in my opinion, the most gorgeous graphical mod for Kenshi. It makes even characters look cleaner and well detailed, it also surprisingly doesn’t affect performance too much, so feel free to get it. Although the installation process might seem like a pain in the butt, it will completely change your Kenshi for the better. Here are some pics:
As you can see, this mod is impressive!
Why this mod is great:
- Makes Kenshi look like a brand new game
- Doesn’t affect performance that much
- Large battles look 100 times more epic and gorgeous!
