5. Larva Blade (Best Early Game Blade)

This is a very useful blade that isn’t hard to make and will be a great stepping stone on your way to getting better gear as you play the exciting new indie game Grounded.

What's good about the Larva Blade

  • It’s an extremely fast blade with decent damage for early games and won’t break as easily as pebble weapons.
  • It poisons any enemy you encounter on each hit, for some enemies a couple of hits is all it would take to kill them.
  • It’s the easiest workbench weapon to make on the list.

How to get the Larva Blade

  • Find an acid gland, larva spike, or the Rotten Larva Blade and analyze it to unlock the recipe at the workbench.
  • There is a rotten form of this blade that you can find under a leaf near the hotdog wrapper, look at the first video for full details.
  • To get what you’ll need to make this weapon you’ll need to fight a couple of larvas that typically attack at night to get food if your base is on the ground. The best way to fight them is from a distance with spears or arrows so be prepared before facing them.
  • You’ll need to make this at a workbench with 2 larva spikes, 3 grub hides, and 1 acid gland.

4. Ant Club (Best Mid Game Club)

This is a strong beginning club stronger than the pebble tools and weapons. It’s fairly simple to make but you will need to kill ants to get the materials you’ll need to make this club, and you’ll need it to make the mint mallet.

What’s good about the Ant Club

  • This weapon is easy to craft with only 3 separate materials needed at a workbench to create it.
  • This club has medium damage and high stun that’s second only to the mint mallet.
  • This club will stun most enemies in a couple of hits and you’ll be able to kill them relatively quickly because of the reliable damage it does.

How to get the Ant Club

  • You’ll need to analyze an ant part to unlock this at your workbench then you’ll need a few parts from ants.
  • You’ll need 4 ant parts, 2 ant mandibles, and 2 woven fiber to make this club.

The damage and stun are less than the ant club but this blade swings swiftly and applies poison to everything you will have to face in Grounded.

What’s good about the Spider Fang Dagger

  • This blade swings faster than any weapon in the game and lets you attack in quick flourishes that will kill most enemies quickly.
  • The poison this blade applies will cause weak enemies to die shortly after they are slashed with this blade, this almost guarantees a kill even if the enemy tries to run.
  • It doesn’t drain as much stamina as a club does so you can swing it more often and block more often or run away if needed.

How to get the Spider Fang Dagger

  • In order to get the recipe to make this blade, you’ll have to kill a spider and analyze a spider fang, it’s best to fight spiders when they’re isolated and fight them with a group of friends so the spider doesn’t just aggro on you alone.
  • You’ll need 1 spider fang, 3 silk ropes, and 4 spider venom at a crafting table to make this amazing fast blade.
  • You’ll have to kill a few spiders to get each of the parts you’ll need, get armor, and your friends to help fight these spiders.

This is the strongest spear in the game and is great if you want a little distance from you and your target. This is one of the best weapons in-game but is only available in the creative mode of Grounded until bees are put into the game in the next updates.

What’s good about the Stinger Spear

  • This weapon keeps your enemy farther from you so that you’re at a safe distance to fight any insects that cross your path.
  • It offers reliable damage at a fast pace and can be thrown or used as-is.
  • The Stinger Spear is easy to craft with only using three things and bees being the only insect you’ll have to face when they are put in the game.

How to get the Stinger Spear

  • Right now it’s only possible to get it in creative but when bees are put in the game you’ll have to unlock it by analyzing bee fuzz or finding a stinger.
  • At a workbench, you’ll need 4 spider silk, 1 bee stinger, and 5 bee fuzz to make it after it’s added to the survival mode of Grounded.

This is the best weapon and tool in the game by far, it has the highest damage and the highest stun with a reasonable swing with it being a mallet. This weapon isn’t easy to make because you’ll need the tool Insect Mallet just to harvest the mints needed, but it is worth it.

What’s good about the Mint Mallet

  • Every other swing will stun the most ferocious spider and the most annoying gnats.
  • The damage output of this monster of a weapon is amazing, this mallet will kill ants in a couple of swings, they won’t know what hit them.
  • This mallet won’t break easily like other tools and you’ll be able to mine any rocks you weren’t able to before.
  • With this in your arsenal, you’ll be able to kill anything and become a master explorer and do more than just survive, you’ll thrive.

How to get the Mint Mallet

  • You’ll have to research a piece of mint to unlock this. To get a piece of mint you’ll need the insect hammer tool.
  • After you break off pieces of the mints you’ll need to collect a few other pieces to make this mallet, you’ll need 5 mint chunks, 9 spider silk, and 8 flower petals, this is the only weapon that doesn’t require fighting insects.
