Sometimes you just want to unwind and unleash your inner caveman. Strength weapons are weapons that utilize the Strength stat to deal massive amounts of physical damage, not relying on visceral attacks and fast movement. They usually feature high stagger potential, high rally potential and good scaling, so they become stronger the longer the night progresses. This list will provide you with extra information on some of the best Strength weapons in the game and how to get them.
10. Amygdalan Arm
How to get the Amygdalan Arm
We will start this list off with the Amygdalan Arm! This is one of the most peculiar weapons in the game, mainly because of its origin (apparently, it’s a finger joint of an Amygdala, don’t ask). Despite this, it’s a very good weapon, as it has a straightforward moveset and it’s a stagger machine. To get it, you need to get to the Hunter’s Nightmare (if you own the DLC) and it will be in a cave in the river of blood, guarded by a Gatling Gun Hunter and a Blood-Starved Beast, along with some scourge enemies.
What makes the Amygdalan Arm great:
- High Strength scaling
- High stagger potential
- Tricked moveset is erratic and can catch enemies from odd angles
- Consistent untricked R1 R1 R1 combo

9. Boom Hammer
How to get the Boom Hammer
The knee-cap destroyer. Personally, I find this weapon to be one of the most exciting ones to play with. It has a slow wind-up, but when the attack finally connects after 20 minutes, it’s an epic explosion that is simply satisfying. To get it, you need to go to the Hunter’s Nightmare (if you have the DLC) and it will be waiting for you in the building next to where the Cleric Beast would usually be. Be careful though, as it is booby-trapped to explode after picking it up. It features high Blunt damage boosted by tricking, which buffs your next attack with explosive fire damage. Spicy!
What makes the Boom Hammer great:
- High Blunt damage
- Fire damage from tricked form
- High charge-attack damage

Its signature move is the tricked charged R2, which sends smaller enemies flying and may stagger certain bosses. Spin to win!

7. Beast Claw
How to get the Beast Claw
This one doesn’t actually have that much Strength scaling compared to the other weapons on this list, but it’s offset by the innate Beasthood meter that you gain when using the Beast’s Embrace rune. I highly recommend this rune as you can utilize the weapon to its maximum potential. However you look at it, this weapon is extremely fun and exciting to use, due to the change in nature to your Hunter, which makes the overall gameplay more wild (assuming you equip the rune, of course). To get it, you need to play through the Loran chalice dungeons, where it will be located in a chest.
What makes the Beast Claw great:
- Drastically changes the conventional moveset of these types of weapons
- Innate beast meter
- Solid, consistent damage output
- High mobility
