Is there a better remedy for boredom than the sweet sound of gunshots and grenades?

I’m talking about games here…please be a peaceful human. Anyway, military games have always been a success all around the world and we still love them! From OG games such as Counter-Strike to more contemporary ones like Rainbow Six Siege, we’ll talk about the 20 military games we love. Stay tuned, you could even find one that draws your attention and has a holiday discount. You never know…

20. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Siege (PS4, PS5, XBOX ONE, XBOX SERIES X, PC)

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Siege Gameplay

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is a first-person shooter game with a twist: you gotta cooperate with your team to be sneaky and tactical and either defend or attack an objective. Not only will you have a wide variety of weapons, but you will also find operators with unique perks and gadgets to make your game even more exciting!

I honestly believe it’s a great game with an interesting concept and since many gamers may get tired of chaotic shooters such as Battlefield or Call of Duty, this one comes in handy and still feels fresh. That doesn’t mean you’ll get rid of frustrating moments…just saying.

19. Pavlov VR (PC)

Pavlov VR Gameplay

Ah, Pavlov VR, but also known as the best shooter of its kind. It is a first-person shooter loved by the community for being an excellent game in virtual reality and incorporating some of the most realistic animations in the market.

This game is simply exciting and hilarious when played with friends. Just imagine being so in a war game and shooting your friends. Trust me, it’s extremely funny.

18. Battlefield V (PS4, XBOX ONE, PC)

Battlefield V Gameplay

I think presenting this game is kinda irrelevant, cause, let’s be honest: if you haven’t heard of Battlefield, how dare you call yourself a true gamer? Anyway, this FPS is based on World War II and has some of the best mechanics ever seen in a Battlefield game: you can hop on tanks, planes, and ah…its just magnificent. It completely takes you to the battlefield.

17. Hell Let Loose (Project Scarlett, PS5, PC)

Hell Let Loose Gameplay

This game does feel like hell was let loose. A first-person tactical multiplayer shooter, that throws you to battle in a 50 vs 50 match. Each team consists of Germans, Americans, and Soviets. What makes this game interesting is that communication is key because officers and commanders must communicate through a “leadership” voice channel to coordinate the attack.

Hell Let Loose literally makes it feel like you’re going straight into battle with your teammates and leaves the real world behind. Do you think you can handle the responsibility of leading your team?

16. Day of Infamy (PC)

Day Of Infamy Gameplay

This game is often described as Insurgency 2 because some of its mechanics are extremely alike. However, this is not a bad thing; set during WW2, this FPS builds an atmosphere that emanates “war”.

Honestly, one of the coolest features in this game is the fact that players respawn in waves after dying to simulate reinforcements… I don’t know why but I love that, cause it shows that this game was meticulously created.

15. Arma 3 (PC)

Arma 3 Gameplay

One of the few games that are set in the near future (specifically in the 2030s). This one’s an open-world military tactical shooter. One of the coolest things aboutthis game is the freedom to move around the map and since it takes place on an island, the atmospherefeels alive and wide.

Try not to get lost and killed though, cause enemies may be hard to spot…not that I exactly know about that, because it obviously couldn’t have happened to an experimented gamer like me…

14. Insurgency: Sandstorm (PS4, PS5, XBOX ONE, XBOX SERIES X, PC)

Insurgency: Sandstorm Gameplay

Ready for destruction and close combats? This game is super chaotic! Insurgency: Sandstorm is known as a team-based first-person shooter that makes your house feel like the battlefield. You’ll face light attack vehicles, deadly artillery, and destructive ballistics.

I personally think this one is a great game. You’ll be a key component for your team, which means you can’t run around like a headless chicken.

13. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (PC)

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Gameplay

The 4th one of this franchise and it remains as one of the best tactical first-person shooters to this day. Separating players into two teams: terrorists and counter-terrorists, you’ll have to fight and kill to complete the objective and win as many rounds as you can.

Even if this game is hilarious and feels like a walking meme, it’s actually very competitive and tactical. It’s really fun, but it can get to your nerves extremely fast, just like it did to me.

12. Call of Duty: Warzone (PS4, PS5, XBOX ONE, XBOX SERIES X, PC)

Call of Duty: Warzone Gameplay

A free-to-play battle royale game that uses Modern Warfare mechanics to build a realistic atmosphere that can get intense. 150 players fight to be the last one standing and earn victory royale. The main point of this game is to loot and get enough money to buy your loadout and use the weapons you’re familiar with to survive in solo, duos, trios, and quads.

Beware! This game is addictive!

11. Call to Arms (PC)

Call To Arms Gameplay

Call to Arms is super fun because it’s different. It’s a real-time strategy video game that divides a map into different areas in proportion to the number of players. You gotta place and control your bots strategically to dominate most areas on the map.

“That sounds so boringggg!” Wrong! You have to think and place your troops correctly to win and it gets so intense over time, that it can actually match battle royale games intensity.

10. Verdun (PS4, PS5, XBOX ONE, XBOX SERIES X, PC)

Verdun Gameplay

Set on the Western Front during World War I, this game is a squad-based first-person shooter that’s known for being greatly accurate and realistic. It contains real WW1 weapons, uniforms, and equipment and not to mention its gore modeling…wow.

Looks great, but kind of difficult, so if you’re in for a challenge and some explosions: please try this video game ASAP.

9. Titanfall® 2 (PS4, XBOX ONE, PC)

Titanfall 2 Gameplay

Now this game’s for those who enjoy futuristic atmospheres. Even if it seems like a lot of science-fiction, it still preserves the military essence and simply combines it with mecha-style exoskeletons also known as Titans.

The good times I had when playing this game. Personally, I didn’t get to play that much, but I do remember it’s super chaotic, it still looks pretty cool and you get to understand everythingthat’s happening from a first-person perspective. Super cool experience.

8. Beyond The Wire (PC)

Beyond the Wire Gameplay

Embrace the Great War action! Beyond the Wire is a large-scale first-person shooter set during World War I and focuses on 50v50 tactical matches. Beware the reduced vision, because of the explosions, and trust me, you better kill or get killed.

This game shows action at its finest! It’s actually kind of scary how accurate this one is because you will feel like you’re fighting the Trench Warfare IRL.

7. Squad (PC)

Squad Gameplay

Another tactical first-person shooter with a twist: your faction is divided into small squads of nine players. That means you have to cooperate with your teammates and earn the victory while covering their backs. This game is set in themodern-day and lets you choose from different classes such as medic, combat engineer, anti-tank specialist, and others.

What makes Squad cool is the fact that you can’t just run around, kill everybody and win the game, but you have to actually move with your team and coordinate your attacks to win. It’s kindahard nowadays, cause people are somewhat competitive…or at least that’s how the CoD community is.

6. Post Scriptum (PC)

Post Scriptum Gameplay

Focused on historical accuracy and extremely realistic gameplay, Post Scriptum is set during WW2 and is a large-scale first-person shooter. This game and its great scale are simply amazing.

I don’t know why, but this game feels like a good mix between beautiful scenarios and chaotic experiences. Kinda different and honestly, pretty fun.

5. Halo Infinite (Project Scarlett, XBOX SERIES X, XBOX ONE, PC)

Halo Infinite Gameplay

Good old Halo’s back…and it feels, and looks AMAZING! The first-person shooter with a touch of futuristic weapons, equipment and abilities came back strong and is here to stay. Its science fiction atmospheres make this one of the best shooters ever.

Good news for everyone too: multiplayer’s free to play this time. If you’re a real fan, you’ll most likely buy the whole game, but if you’re just interested in Halo features…what are you waiting for?

4. Call of Duty: Vanguard (PS4, PS5, XBOX ONE, XBOX SERIES X, PC)

Call of Duty: Vanguard Gameplay

Like every CoD, this one’s a first-person shooter that contains lots of content such as different operators, skins, maps, and a wide variety of weapons. You know, chaotic matches and try-hard players.

I’m not gonna lie, this game gets a lot of hate, but if you’re someone who really likes WW2 environments and features, you’ll surely love this game as much as I do.

3. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon® Breakpoint (PS4, PS5, XBOX ONE, XBOX SERIES X, PC)

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon® Breakpoint Gameplay

Let’s say Assassin’s Creed had a child with a war game: we get this incredible game. A military shooter set in a wide-open world, that’s there for you to explore alone or with friends. This game allows you to play sneaky and stealthy or to enter hideouts like a headless chicken with high damaging weapons.

I’d love to try this game, just in case you wanna give me a Christmas gift…no? Ok.

2. Tom Clancy's The Division 2 (PS4, PS5, XBOX ONE, XBOX ONE X, PC)

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 Gameplay

One of the best military-themed RPGs with campaign, co-op, and PvP game modes. This third-person shooter takes place after the first game and allows you to take on different missions with your friends. It honestly looks pretty damn good and got excellent reviews, proving that it’s a different and fresh conceptfor shooters.

1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (PS4, PS5, XBOX ONE, XBOX ONE X, PC)

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Gameplay

Probably one of the best CoD games ever. The campaign is great, its realistic mechanics are great for gameplay and the variety of weapons and attachments build a masterpiece when talking about military experience.

Besides, the free-to-play experience (Warzone) has been a great success since last year.
