War Thunder has announced that the TCM AGS will be one of War Thunder’s ‘Operation W.I.N.T.E.R’ rewards.
On 12 December 2021, War Thunder released a tweet announcing the TCM AGS as one of the ‘Operation W.I.N.T.E.R’ rewards and stating both the advantages and disadvantages of the TCM AGS.
According to the tweet by War Thunder, the primary benefits of the TCM AGS are that it has an unmanned turret, an auto-loader, and it is highly mobile. On the other hand, its one major flaw is that it is not well armored and is thus poorly protected against incoming ordnance.
According to War Thunder’s official TCM AGS news post, “The TCM AGS is an experimental prototype of an airborne light tank, presented by Teledyne Continental Motors to a 1981 US Army competition.”
The TCM AGS is described as being “futuristic-looking” and besides the primary features mentioned in the tweet, the news post also lists a 105mm cannon as one of the TCM AGS’s main features.
The TCM AGS will reportedly be the main tank prize for War Thunder’s ‘Operation W.I.N.T.E.R’, being added to rank VI of the US armored vehicles tech tree.
The front armor can withstand up to 23mm cannon fire, while the back and sides are only able to protect the crew from machinegun fire.
Despite the lack of armor and protection, the heavy cannon with anti-tank rounds and the breezy speed of 70 km/h make this tank highly versatile and effective if used correctly, according to War Thunder.
As stated in the War Thunder news post, it is ideal for being “an aggressive raider or annoying camper.”
The TCM AGS comes with a variety of different skins suited to different environments and can be obtained by completing tasks for War Thunder’s ‘Operation W.I.N.T.E.R.’
