World War 1 was a pivotal war in the history of the world. With a death toll of over 20 million military and civilian lives, it was a devastating war.

Rising Front’ revisits the horror of trench warfare and the magnitude of decisions made by military commanders in a first-person shooter with a touch of RTS and battle simulation.

Players play as a soldier on the frontlines of World War 1, slogging through the mud of the trenches while fighting waves of attacking enemies, and at other times, charging the enemy lines themselves.

Besides the gruesome first-person combat and horror of the trenches, ‘Rising Front’ also gives players the ability to command the AI forces of their army. This puts key decisions in the hand of the players, and thus the decisions players make and the orders they give are pivotal in the outcome of the battles they fight.

‘Rising Front’ utilizes authentic World War 1 tactics for a more realistic experience. The game is built with a focus on ragdoll physics, and with the goal to give players the added perspective of the responsibility that comes with being in command of military forces.

This is different from many WW1 first-person shooter games, which focus on the combat and graphics of the game to create a realistic experience and follow a set storyline. According to the developers, the goal of the game is to “accurately simulate WW1 battles with hundreds or even thousands of units on the battlefield.”

‘Rising Front’ is developed by ‘Sandstorm Studios Inc’ and is available on Steam.
