‘Return to Nangrim’ is a fantasy survival RPG that has been developed to be played in first-person, presenting a slightly more unique take on the genre.
According to the developers, ‘Return to Nangrim’ is based on “epic dwarven lore” and has given life to stories and legends about the dwarves in a fantasy survival RPG setting. Players take on the role of a dwarf that is exploring the ruins of an ancient dwarven mountain city called ‘Nangrim.’
The ancient dwarven language of ‘Hilduir’ must be used to solve puzzles and mysteries about the ‘Stonebeards’ that used to live in the city of Nangrim. The game features loot and resource collection elements, as well as extensive crafting options for tools, gear, and weapons. Players can choose to use either a hammer or ax for a weapon and upgrade it over time.
Players can try their hand at cooking delicious dishes belonging to the ancient dwarven culture. They must also master the dwarven art of expert blacksmithing and even goldsmithing. The torch is key to player survival in the darkness of Nangrim, both as a weapon and a way to light fires and light the way.
According to developers, the game features unique procedural elements ensuring “a different gaming experience for every player,” with loads of lore, collectibles, and side missions.
