‘AGAINST’, a combat rhythm virtual reality game developed and published by Joy Way, is scheduled to go live today, 16 December 2021.
According to the game’s Steam description, ‘AGAINST’ is “a rhythmic journey through crime-ridden streets and their phantasmagoric seamy side.”
Players must navigate a perilous series of obstacles as they obliterate evil enemies to the rhythm of the pounding music. Players will play as a detective and will have a sword and a gun as their primary weapons, along with a whip, throwing knives, and brass knuckles to make things interesting.
The more closely players match their movement, strikes, and kills to the music, the higher their score will be.
According to the Steam description, the developers have “paid loving attention to the dark and gritty comic book style.” They have set the story in 1930’s America, with ‘Dr. Vice’ as the villain of the story.
There are seven levels, or chapters to the story, each available in 3 different difficulty settings. At the end of each chapter, the player faces off against Dr. Vice in an epic boss fight with music to match.
The game has not yet been released, however, it will become available on Steam today if all goes according to plan. ‘AGAINST’ will only require 2GB of storage space, and will have a similarly small download.
