Halo Infinite has recently announced the new settings and features for Ranked and Competitive mode in Halo Infinite. The developers have sought to combine all the best features of old and new Halo to create the ultimate ranked and competitive experience for Halo Infinite players.

The developers have stated that they have sought to create a competitive core that focuses on rewarding the team that deserves to win. Solo lone wolves may survive, but the teams that coordinate and work together will end up taking the win.

They have also said that mechanical skills will take players a long way in achieving success, but strong game sense and good decision-making will be what separates the good from the great.

Three key features of Halo Infinite ranked and competitive gameplay is the following:

Firstly, the motion tracker is disabled, allowing players to make flanking plays and out position enemies without being tracked based on their movement. This comes as a change from older Halo games, in which the motion tracker could easily give away player positions.

Secondly, there are no grenade hit ticks, so the enemy positions cannot be determined by grenade blasts.

Thirdly, there is a strong scavenging storyline so that the team that works together the most effectively will be the most likely to win. The game seeks to reward effective team play while still allowing room for significant individual skill and contribution.
