In Cyberpunk 2077, you are an elite member of the Police Department’s “Psycho Squad.” Tasked to fight through the city’s ‘Psychos,’ individuals who overuse stimulants or acquire more enhancements than their mind can handle, will you be able to combat the threat or will you succumb to the Psychos of the city?

The game Cyberpunk 2077 is a long-awaited sequel to the popular Cyberpunk 2020, often referred to as Cyberpunk 2013. The first game in the series was actually a TRPG (tabletop role playing game), but developers are keeping as close to the original storyline as possible, catching players up on over 50 years of lore.

Blood and Gore?

Since the development is being headed by the same team that created The Witcher, gamers are wondering if the cyberpunk tale will have level of violence and gore. There seems to be two extremes when it comes to the level of gore being asked for:

When you are fighting with people going insane because of cybernetic enhancement, can you afford to not be over-the-top?

Considering the setting of the game, it is well within the realm of possibility gamers may wield energy weapons.

Quite a few people feel the same as you, dinkoblue. If you’re going to be a super-powered cop, then surely the guns are super-powered.

I can understand the desire, given how often children are around. A feature to turn it off or on would be nice.

The level of blood and gore in Cyberpunk 2077 remains to be seen. But, if The Witcher is any indication, those asking for a ‘proper level’ of it in the game will be very satisfied. And although there is no official release date, rumors have been circulating on a 2020 release at the earliest.

CD Projekt Red and Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 was first announced back in 2012 with a teaser trailer featuring the song Bullets by Archive. The development team, CD Projekt Red, is typically known for their work on The Witcher. Although the game is highly anticipated for its continuation of the popular story, an official date of release has not been set.

From the trailer available, not much information is given on exactly how the player interacts with others. One detail that is known for certain is NPCs will treat a player differently based on things like clothing or speech choices. Clothing style for the character will also change the story at various points in the game.
