I’ve been talking about melee weapons a lot and for good reason too. They’re fun to use and who doesn’t love slicing people’s limbs off just to see how it looks and how detailed it is. I can’t be the only one right. Of course, someone might get more fun out of killing zombies but where’s the fun there. They’re already dead anyway.
So thank god CDPR didn’t skimp out on the brutality and gore of Cyberpunk 2077. In this game, if you got the right perks and weapons you can slice someone’s limb off with 1 clean cut. It all depends on the angle at which you slice them. I might sound like a psychopath right now but let’s be real.
It’s a video game and everyone at least once has let themselves into their darkest desires, because the thing that you do in video games is for fun, and for the last time boomers video games do not cause violence. Enough rambling let’s get into the best 5 blade weapons Night City has to offer!
5. Cocktail Stick
“It’s a pink whooping stick I swear mom.” (Video by Gamer Guru)
Now at a first glance, this might look like a basic pink katana but oh boy how many cyber psychos have met the end of this katana. Too many to count on my fingers let me tell you that. Plus it’s free. What do you have to lose, oh and it’s an iconic weapon as well if you’re a collector of iconic weapons This katana also has 1 mod slot so you can increase the damage or the crit chance.
The base katana comes with an 18% crit chance and a 10% bleed chance. Both of these stats can be increased to your liking. The base damage is 191.0 DPS which might not seem a lot but it can be useful during the quest “Automatic Love”.
Because all of your weapons will be taken away before entering the brothel and the only way to fight through this is by finding this katana and slicing up the whole brothel. Except for the workers they did nothing wrong to you. They’re just trying to get by.
What makes Cocktail Stick great:
- Comes real useful during the quest “Automatic Love”.
- Has an 18% crit chance and a 10% bleed chance, which can be increased by putting mods on the weapon.
- 191.0 DPS.
- It’s a pink katana.
- The attack speed of this katana is 2.99.

4. Mantis Blades
“Hippity hoppity you’re now my property.” (Video by handsomeTez)
The iconic weapons of Cyberpunk 2077 if not the most iconic ones. You’ve seen them all over the place. In every trailer, in every single gameplay demo, hell even in your mom's bedroom you’ve seen these mantis blades pop up, and for good reason too.
They’re fun to use and you can charge them up and pounce on your enemies like a real mantis. The damage of these weapons scale with your level and stats. So at the beginning of the game, they might do something around 200-300 damage but at the end game level, they very well might do 500-1000 damage per hit. In the end, it all depends on you and your character stats.
Several mantis blades are lying around Night City waiting to be found and picked up or if you don’t want to waste time searching for them you can simply buy them at a ripper doc.
What makes Mantis Blades great:
- An iconic weapon of Cyberpunk 2077.
- Cool takedown animations.
- You can pounce on your enemies and take them down.
- The damage depends on your level and your perks.
- Free legendary variants can be found.

“He who lives by the sword dies by the sword.” (Video by MoveOverInc)
We had a full pink katana so how about a full black katana with a tiny bit of red details. This katana is better in every single way and form of the previous one. It’s a legendary iconic weapon that you can get during the quest “Play It Safe”. It’s dropped by a guy named Sandayu Oda. this guy is a simp to his queen so you’re going to be doing the world a favor by zeroing him.
This katana does not have any modifications added to it, it’s a simple plain katana that’s sharp as the light. And before you ask or look up, no this katana does not have any available mod slots. You get what you get with this katana. But what it does have is a high attack speed per second and high damage per second.
What makes Jinchu-maru great:
- Base damage starts at 539.9.
- 4.80 attack speed per second. Your enemies won’t be able to block your attacks due to high speeds.

2. Tsumetogi
“Your mind is the sharpest weapon.” (Video by AshesWolf)
Here we have probably the coolest looking katana in the whole game. It was custom made for someone we don’t know who but it’s landed into your hands which is all that matters. This katana also deals electrical damage and has a small chance to apply shock to people. It also has the fastest attack speed out of any katana and the highest base damage.
The attack speed is 5 per second while the base damage starts at 754.0. On top of that, you can also place 1 singular mod onto the katana so make it count. This katana can be found in a room where you meet Maiko and the other Tyger Claw important people.
What makes Tsumetogi great:
- The most unique katana in the whole game.
- Base damage starts at 754.0.
- The attack speed is 5.0.
- You’re able to place 1 mod onto the katana.
- It’s the fastest katana in the whole game.

1. Stinger
“I’ll shank ya bruv.” (Video by x LunarGaming)
At a first glance, you might even miss this iconic weapon and throw it off as just a basic knife. But it’s much more than that. This is probably one of the strongest bladed weapons you can find and the best part of it all is that you get it for free. You can find this knife on a dead body from a guy named “Scorpion”. It also comes with a unique buff.
This knife deals chemical damage with a moderate chance of applying poison. Base damage starts at 1,223.6 with an attack speed of 6.67. You’ll deal about 167 damage per hit. You might not be able to cut off arms or legs with your new knife but what you can do is apply poison to your enemies and slowly watch them die knowing there isn’t an antidote for your sting.
What makes Stinger great:
- Deals chemical damage with a chance to apply poison.
- Base damage starts at 1,223.6.
- The attack speed is 6.67.
- You can get this knife during the quest “I’ll Fly Away.”
- Incredibly deadly.
- You can shank people.
