Racing vehicles at breakneck speeds is not for the faint-hearted. The world has plenty of adrenaline junkies, car enthusiasts, and speed freaks that would happily risk life and limb for the excitement of hurtling along a dirt track in a trophy truck, rally car, or even a dirtbike.
For plenty of these speedfreaks, however, life tends to slow down a little bit when they get married, or have kids, or become otherwise responsible for someone or something to the degree that they cannot risk their life any longer for the sake of their dependants.
‘Dakar Desert Rally’ allows even the guys and girls who hate speed in real life to unleash their inner speed demon. The game offers a wide range of vehicles for players to use in both multiplayer and singleplayer, including motorcycles, trucks, SSV’s, cars, and quads.
According to developers, the game boasts an open-world map, allowing players to drive wherever they like, at their own peril, and not forcing them to drive along fixed roads or tracks.
Taking shortcuts can make for hair-raising rides, insane race times, and could potentially also end in absolute catastrophe.
The game features realistic day and night cycles, as well as summer, winter, spring, and fall. This means that players can race in the dry heat and dust of summer, pouring rain and mud of spring, and the ice and snow commonly associated with winter and high altitudes.
Of course, the weather and terrain also depend on where in the world players choose to race, with the game featuring official tracks and vehicles from the 2020 and 2021 racing seasons.
