The sequel to the 2014 horror/thriller film Creep has officially been announced and is being produced by Blumhouse Productions (Paranormal Activity, The Purge, Split, Get Out) and Duplass Brothers Productions (Creep, The Overnight, Blue Jay).

Mark Duplass who played Josef, the main character In Creep 2014 and was also one of the writers on Creep posted a tweet on July 30th saying “We are officially picture locked on CREEP 2. #comingsoon”

Creep 2 is an upcoming horror film directed by Patrick Brice and also written by Patrick Brice and Mark Duplass. Jason Blum from Blumhouse Productions will be an executive producer on the movie.

Like the prequel Creep, Creep 2 will be using the “found footage” style of production. Found footage is a sub-genre in films which is often used in horror movies to add a sense of realism to the story. Found footage films usually have a majority of the film and sometimes all of it presented as if it was discovered footage or video recordings.

There hasn’t been an official date released for Creep 2 but we know it will be sometime during 2017. Mark Duplass is confirmed on the IMDb cast list but no information has been added yet to say he will be reprising the role of Josef.

Mark Duplass announced back in march 2014 that he had plans to turn Creep into a trilogy and have RADius-TWC produce and distribute the films with the possibility of production taking place in later 2014. However, in February 2015 when speaking to Moviefone, he later announced that they have not started production due to some scheduling issues.

The full known cast list so far is Mark Duplass, Desiree Akhavan and Karan Soni.
