A common theme in many futuristic sci-fi movies and games is the theme of oppression by a few wealthy people in positions of power, living lives of luxury while the common people live in poverty and work like slaves.
‘Blade Assault’ is a 2D rogue-lite game set under similar circumstances, with the horrific Red Stone War having divided the world into three primary regions.
The first region is overrun by deadly mutants and is known as the outside grounds. The second area is the Undercity, which is where the commoners fled from the mutants and live lives of hardship and poverty.
Finally, there is Esperanza, a luxurious safe haven inhabited by the few rich and powerful who now attempt to rule the rest of the world with an iron fist and keep everyone else pinned under a metaphorical heel.
Players must play as resistance fighters from the Undercity, fighting for freedom from oppression by the wealthy elite. They can choose from a variety of different characters with unique weapons and perks that pop up as they play to decimate Esperanza’s forces.
As players progress they can upgrade characters and character abilities, as well as the weapons that each character has stored in their personal armory. They will also be able to meet and team up with NPC’s in-game as they hack and slash their way to victory over their oppressors.
‘Blade Assault’ is developed by ‘Team Suneat’ and is available on Steam.
