Imagine being forced to work for a massive company for almost no money. Every decision has to go through the corporation. The corporation is the provider of food, shelter, and security. The corporation is the be-all-end-all. Outside of it is nothing, and without it, its employees are nothing.
In ‘The Ascent’ “The Ascent Group arcology” is run by ‘The Ascent Group’ and is dubbed a “corporate metropolis” by the game’s creators. Every resident of this place belongs to, and works for ‘The Ascent Group.’ They are essentially modern-day slaves in a cruel future where human rights laws and basic freedoms are non-existent.
The story revolves around players surviving the collapse of ‘The Ascent Group.’ Players must become one of the group’s employees who is now left without their entire existence. Their food source, income, shelter, and security all went overnight and leaving them completely on their own to fend for themselves.
Players must fight to survive in a cyberpunk world filled with cyber-enhanced enemies. Players can customize their characters, collecting resources required for cyber-enhancements, new weapons, gear, equipment, and abilities.
Environments are destructible, allowing players to mold territory to their advantage and take out their frustration on the world’s hard-working construction teams’ efforts to build a world worth living in.
‘The Ascent’ offers both solo and co-op gameplay to cater to the lone wolves of the world and the guys who can’t get anything done without an entire army to back them up…
‘The Ascent’ is developed by ‘Neon Giant’ and is available on Steam.
