Not Getting Enough From Diablo? Satiate Your Thirst For Adventure With These 10 Games.

When I first played Diablo I was... just wow. As a kid in school I knew I should not be playing this game but there was something that got me glued to the screen. Even now as an adult, the game still has that appeal. Diablo and its two sequels are classics. It does everything right for a Action RPG game. Any fan of Diablo will appreciate this list. Just in case your Diablo CD broke in two here a few good alternatives to give you a quick fix.

10. Nox

I Think I am Lost

First up on this list is Nox. An action RPG (Role Playing Game) developed by Westwood Studios. You Play as Jack, a Boy who was transported from earth to a parallel Medieval Style universe. As Jack, you must fight the sorceress Hecubah and Her army of Necromancers to go back home.

The game sounds simple enough, but this game has something that a few other titles lack. Depending on the class you choose, the story changes. If you beat the game with the different classes, you will see completely different stories for each class. It’s these little changes that make this game fun and that is why it starts off the list.

9. Neverwinter Nights 2

Who's Fighting Who

Neverwinter Nights 2 is the sequel to Neverwinter Nights, but strangely this game has nothing to do with the first game. You play as a Adventurer that is in search of these artifacts known as the Silver Shards and how they are connected with the great evil The King of Shadows.

Any Fan of Dungeons and Dragons will instantly recognize the connection these two games have in common. The first time I heard of this game I was watching my friends play D & D. I have not beaten this game yet but I can tell you it’s a blast to play. You can tell many of the game's style has been copied in games such as the dragon age titles and even Diablo 3. This game is so popular that even after official support has ended and online has been closed. Fans of the game still make patches and private servers for it so people can continue to play the game online

8. RuneScape

Nothing Like A Old Fashion Barbecue

RuneScape is a free to play MMORPG that takes place in the world of Gielinor. Gielinor is a medieval style world divided into different kingdoms, regions, and cities, etc. Players can travel throughout Gielinor using different methods, they can travel on foot, use magical spells, or ships.

RuneScape is more World of Warcraft than Diablo. After playing for a while and playing World of Warcraft, I can see what they took from Diablo. It doesn’t matter if you are a fan of one or the other, this game will appeal to anyone who is a fan of freedom. There is no linear story so you are free to roam around and do as you please. The Game is free so what more can you ask for.

7. Fate

Home Sweet Home

Fate takes place in the town of Grove. Not too far from the town is a Dungeon Gate that will lead you into different levels. You are an adventurer that goes into the Dungeon gate seeking Fame and Fortune.

Fate is one of those titles that took what was good on Diablo and made it their own. It’s fully 3D, it has almost everything a RPG game should have. It has quests, level up, Skills, and Attributes.

Someone Needs A Nail Filer

A great Demon was released onto the world of Ancaria. It is up to the hero to collect the elements and stop the Demon and the Orc Invasion.

Everything on this game is well made. Everything is understandable and doesn’t take you long to master everything. Ancaria is large and most of it you can visit early on in the game. The characters have different skills. It keeps the game interesting and you can customize each character differently. The game is unique and gives the player room to choose how he or she wants to play the game.

5. Dungeon Siege 3

Did I Get Them?

The player can play as one of the four characters who have different stories and who want to bring back the 10th Legion and fight Jeyne Kassynder for control of Ehb. The Game is set in a medieval style world. Following an ambush by Kassynder's army in the beginning, the player will travel through Ehb to complete their goals.

I have only played this game a couple of times with friends, but the game is fun to play. Reminds me of Diablo. And reminds me of a few RPGs I have played before. The skill set and systems are unique so no one has the same skills and attributes.

4. Titan Quest

Two On One Not Fair!

You create a character and is sent on a quest to restore balance to the world after the fall of communication between the gods and man. Along the way you do quest and fight monsters from Greek mythology and other mythologies. Ultimately you fight your way through the game and fight the final boss, the titan Typhon.

I like this game because of the Greek Mythology and I am a fan of Greek Mythology. The one thing that bugged me is the similarity it has with Diablo 2. Diablo 2 was the template and they just filled in the gap.  Other than that this game is very fun to play and the multiplayer adds more fun to it.

3. Path of Exile

Such Pretty Lights

The game is set in a fantasy world. You start the game by waking up on the shores of Wraeclast. You must survive this dangerous land and battle your way across the lands terrain.

The thing I find wrong with this game is the lack of back story. Everything else is well made and can prove to be a challenge for players. It takes time to get use to because of the one server, but the game is fast pace and lots to do. You got six classes to choose from with each one having a different skills and attributes. The skills can be modified using support gems. You have to think hard about leveling up and what is the best path for you and the game.

2. Torchlight 2

Am I am Being Sacrificed

Years after the end of the first game, The Alchemist from the first game gets corrupted and destroys the town. You the player must now control a character and stop the Alchemist.

This game has been compared to Diablo 3 since its creation. But this game is very different and has many features players will like. Multiplayer and diverse classes are just two of the features the game has that makes it fun. The single player is longer than the first game, but I am really glad they added multiplayer. As a player I enjoy multiplayer and talking with other players online. Multiplayer is the future of gaming.

1. Sacred 2: Fallen Angel

Hey Pretty Lady

The T-Energy is the source of Life and magic in Ancaria. A long time ago and for a while, it was under the watch and protection of the race Seraphim. Over time the Seraphim lost interest and gave it to the High elves. Over time the T-Energy became unstable and uncontrolled able. The T-Energy began to change creatures, and destroy towns. You as the player must make a choice. Help heal the world, or Help the chaos and destroy it.

Very few games have different outcomes. Why this game is number one on the list? You can heal the land from the T-Energy or Help the Chaos. The freedom to be good or evil is lacking in RPGs. You can either be good or evil you cannot play as both and see the outcome of your decision. The game reminds of Prince of Persia 2007. This game is a must for a RPG fan. The multiplayer is balance and well maintained. The items, quest, etc. is well made to aid the player. Everything in this game screams Cult Classic.

Do any of these games remind you of Diablo, Diablo 2, or Diablo 3? Comment below on what games you like from this list or have you played any?
