What can Total War Warhammer 2 Mods do for you?

There are a whole host of mods available for Total War Warhammer 2. Whether you're interested in improving your quality of life, changing or removing parts of the game, adding visual beauty, or just experimenting, there is a mod out there for you! You just might find yourself unwilling to go back once you try some of these amazing mods.

15. Recruit Defeated Legendary Lords

Legendary Lords Mod

This mod allows you to recruit legendary lords that you would not normally have access to. After defeating a faction, a pop up window will appear in the game that allows you to recruit immortal lords and heroes from that faction.

How the mod makes things more fun:

  • You can complete divided subfactions, like uniting the Carsteins and all their lords into one force.
  • You’re granted access to some legendary lords that may be otherwise hard or impossible to get control of.
  • You will be satisfied if you are a completionist and want to collect all of the lords.

14. One Button Respec

One Button Respec Mod

This mod allows you to remove the spent skill points from a lord with the touch of a button. One Button Respec pairs nicely with Recruit Defeated Legendary Lords because when you recruit these lords you may notice the computer has allocated their skill points into abilities you don’t want.

How the mod makes things more fun:

  • You don’t have to deal with the selection of skills that the computer will choose for lords it controls.
  • It allows you to have more control and customization of your Total War experience.
  • If you are new and learning the game you can redo your skill points without starting a new game session after realizing you’ve made mistakes.

13. Unit Formations

Unit Formations Mod

This mod adds unit formations to the game, offering you many ways, each with situational advantages and disadvantages, to organize your units in battle.

How the mod makes things more fun:

  • This mod adds depth to the battle system by adding more ways to organize your units.
  • If you’ve mastered the game and are looking for more this adds more mechanics to manage.
  • If your units being limited to forming into squares and rectangles breaks your immersion, this mod is for you.

Skip Intro Logos

Skip Intro Logos Mod

This mod is pretty self explanatory. It removes all the Logos and Icons you have to wait through when opening the game so that you can get right into it!

How the mod makes things more fun:

  • You can get right into the action without waiting through those troublesome loading screens!
  • If you need to close and reopen the game it will take much less time.
  • If you’re eager for action, this is the mod for you.

Save Camera Settings

Save Camera Settings Mod

This mod allows you to save your camera settings and load your preferences at the beginning of a game so that you don’t have to redo it every match. I like to skip over factions I don’t care about or speed up their animations so that I can spend more time playing my own turn, but it’s tedious to change my camera settings every match. Problem solved!

How the mod makes things more fun:

  • I personally don’t enjoy the amount of time I spend waiting for my turn and watching the animations of enemy factions I don’t care about in the default game, and this mod is great for starting your games with the proper settings right away.
  • Save time because you are important and you have important things to do, like conquer the Empire.
  • Get to your first turn faster, you know you’re excited to make your move so why wait so long?

Better Camera Mod

Better Camera Mod

This is another camera mod that allows for more control of the camera. You can zoom in closer and out further to see some epic moments that will make for awesome screenshots!

How the mod makes things more fun:

  • It allows you to zoom in closer and observe details you couldn’t otherwise.
  • It allows you to zoom out further and observe larger trends on the map.
  • More control over the camera allows you to customize your gaming experience.

Cinematic Battle Effects

Cinematic Battle Effects Mod

This mod adds, well, cinematic battle effects to the game. Some examples include lingering smoke trails added to cannon fire and fire trails to rockets, creating a more impactful experience for you.

How the mod makes things more fun:

  • It enhances the epic feeling of a battle. It’s like playing a movie.
  • Sometimes you don’t realize you were missing something like the details this mod adds until you have it.
  • If you like making video clips of the game then they will only look better with this mod!

Building Progressions Icons II

Building Progress Icons II Mod

You may have noticed that when you upgrade a building the icons can look the same and there are so many of them that it can be confusing. This mod changes that so there are distinct icons for each building.

How the mod makes things more fun:

  • You’ll spend less time squinting at your building icons and more time conquesting.
  • Making this aspect of the game clearer allows you to focus on other things.
  • It makes for an overall cleaner looking experience.

GCCM: Main Mod

GCCM: Main Mod

This mod is a large collection of changes. Most importantly, it adds new battle maps, settlement maps, and a ton of unique castles and strongholds. This allows you to fight siege battles in fresh new environments!

How the mod makes things more fun:

  • It adds new battle maps to fight on and castles and strongholds to siege.
  • If you were feeling like the lack of map options was getting stale towards the end of your campaigns, problem solved!
  • Settlement maps look more detailed and realistic.

No Climate Penalties

No Climate Penalties Mod

This mod removes climate penalties from the game. It’s convenient if you found this feature more to remove more from the game than it added.

How the mod makes things more fun:

  • Climate penalties can be annoying, and sometimes make no sense from a lore perspective, so getting rid of them might improve your experience.
  • It allows more expansion options.
  • Who says an elf can’t live in the mountains?

Totally Random Total War Generator: Warhammer II

Totally Random Total War Generator: Warhammer II Mod

This mod changes the game so that the regions you own at the start of the game are randomized. If you don’t mind the immersion break, then this mod is great for adding new options for your gameplay.

How the mod makes things more fun:

  • You can start anywhere on the map with anyone, adding a lot of replayability to the game because of how different each new game will feel.
  • It levels the playing field against factions that start with overpowered settlements and allows you to potentially get a strong start with an underrepresented faction!
  • Some factions start off in annoying situations that dissuade you from wanting to play them. This mod fixes that issue.

Darker and Deeper Sea

Darker and Deeper Sea Mod

You may find yourself spending a lot of time viewing the expansive ocean while you play Total War: Warhammer II. This mod makes the sea, as the name states, darker and deeper. This makes the world feel larger and look more beautiful, a win win in my book!

How the mod makes things more fun:

  • It helps your immersion by making the sea feel more expansive and beautiful.
  • If you play a faction that spends a lot of time on the water like Dark Elves, this mod will make your experience much more enjoyable.
  • It never hurts to pretty up your game.

Solved Dials of the Old Ones

Solved Dials of the Old Ones Mod

This mod is a huge relief for me personally. I had given up on even trying to solve the Dials of the Old Ones puzzles, which was disappointing because I thought the idea of the mechanic was really cool. This mod makes it much clearer how to solve these confusing puzzles.

How the mod makes things more fun:

  • You can finally try your hand at these previously confusing puzzle mechanics.
  • It revives an uninteresting part of the game.
  • Any mod that makes the game better or bigger, especially one utilizing assets that already exist in the game, is a must have!

Sebidee’s Two Points Per Level Lords

Sebidee's Two Points Per Level Lords Mod

This mod is simple, it allows you to get two skill points per level for your lords instead of one.

How the mod makes things more fun:

  • It makes some of the lords that are underpowered viable because too many of their important skills are deep in the tree or in different branches.
  • It allows you to fill in your skills on your lords faster so you can try out your build sooner.
  • It gives access to staple abilities that may be otherwise hard to get early.

Decline Diplomacy

Decline Diplomacy Mod

This mod gives you the option to automatically decline diplomacy from other factions when the game is cycling through the turns. Have you ever ended your turn and left the room to get a snack, expecting to come back to your turn but instead find a diplomacy offer on your screen? Well forget that issue and download this mod!

How the mod makes things more fun:

  • You don’t have to waste your time declining all the diplomacy attempts after you end your turn.
  • Some factions will continue requesting diplomatic actions from you even though you’ve declined multiple times. With this mod they will get the picture.

Save time, play more!
