Are you in the market of building a ship for yourself but you’re not sure what to use for the cockpit or bridge? First off let me explain what a bridge or cockpit is. They are the same thing; the only difference between them is the size and entry points. In the game, you can create any ship you want.
You can create a huge cargo ship or something small but quick it all depends on what you need. Be aware though as it does cost a lot of money. Now, onto the cockpit or bridge, it’s mainly used to control or fly your ship and see how many crewmates it can hold. In this article I’ll be listing you the best cockpits and brides so let’s get into it.
5. Cabot C3-2
Basic.
This is one of the cheapest and best cockpits you can get early on in the game. It only costs 1,100 credits and it’s manufactured by the magnificent Nova Galactic. Also, this cockpit uses stairs instead of ladders.
Which makes maneuvering around it easy and convenient. It doesn’t require any skills to own and it can house two crew mates. Furthermore, the cargo capacity is 280 kg. The best advice to use this cockpit is early on in the game as soon as possible.
Cabot C3-2 Is Great For:
- Amazing in the early game due to the low price of 1,100 credits.
- The cargo capacity is 280 kg.
- Comes with stairs instead of a ladder which makes moving around easier.
4. Armstrong 20R
Poor man's ship.
Are you building a flying fortress or a flying tank of a ship? If that is what you’re going for then you need to get the Armstrong 20R for yourself. This tank cockpit will give 11 hit points to your already tanky and beefy hull. Sadly it can only house up to two crewmates but make sure that you bring the crewmates with the best skills to your ship.
Best advice on using this cockpit when you’re building a flying tank of a ship so that no enemy can easily damage you. You will lose a bit of maneuverability but will gain in health and tankiness. Additionally, it will only cost you 7,300 credits which isn’t a lot and it’s great for the mid-game.
Armstrong 20R Is Great For:
- When you’re building a flying tank.
- It gives 11 extra hit points to your overall hull stats.
- The cost of it is only 7,300 credits and it’s great for the mid-game.
3. DS40.2 Ares Bridge
Good enough!
Do you want to take with you as many crewmates as possible? Did you build your character around companions and crewmates? If you did then you need to get the DS40.2 Ares Bridge for your ship. This bridge can hold up to eight crewmates in total. By having eight crewmates it will significantly boost the stats of your ship due to the skills and capabilities they possess.
It also comes with a cargo hold of 360kg. You can obtain this bridge when you reach level 38. Additionally, this bridge will cost you 69,100 credits. The best advice is to get this bridge immediately when you get the option if your character is built around social skills and gains bonuses the more crewmates there are on the ship.
DS40.2 Ares Bridge Is Great For:
- Being able to carry up to eight crewmates.
- It’s the best bridge if your character is built around social skills and gains bonuses the more crewmates there are on the ship.
- The crewmates can significantly boost the stats of your ship if they have the required skills and areas.
2. Viking CP-100
Doesn't look Viking'ish to me!
If you’re building a ship that doesn’t have a lot of mass, that it’s quick and has great maneuverability then you have to go with the Viking CP-100. This cockpit is amazing for maneuverability as it only has 4 mass and steering with this thing will be like gliding through air with no resistance.
Additionally, it can house 4 crewmates and the value of it is only 650 credits. The only two downsides are that it doesn’t have a lot of cargo space, only 200 kg and it gives only 5 hit points to the hull. Also if you do plan on using this cockpit my advice is to dogfight as much as possible due to the great maneuverability it gives.
Viking CP-100 Is Great For:
- The maneuverability is amazing as it only has 4 mass in total.
- You can get it early on in the game.
- It doesn't cost a lot, only 650 credits.
- It can house up to 4 crew mates.
1. Kon-Tiki B-600
Fancy!
Probably the best cockpit that you can buy in the game and that can suit any ship is the Kon-Tiki B-600. It can house 6 crew mates, has the largest cargo hold, gives 5 extra hit points to the hull, and has a mass of 35.
It might be a bit heavy and it will bring your maneuverability down but considering the stats that you get it’s not an issue. Also, the extra space for the cargo hold is brought up by 380 kg. Furthermore, it’s best used in the late game as that’s when you’ll have a lot of items with you due to the price of 63.700 credits.
Kon-Tiki B-600 Is Great For:
- It's great for the late game due to the amount of extra kg you get for the cargo hold.
- It can carry 6 crew mates that can boost the stats of your ship.
- The cargo hold is expanded by 380 kg.
