Buck is one of the best soft breachers in the game. With his special gadget, the Skeleton Key, he can switch his primary weapon’s firing mode to that of an under barrel shotgun. That underbarrel shotgun is called the SK 4-12 and is easily one of the most destructive shotguns in the game.
Year 9 Season 1 brought with it a lot of changes to how weapons, especially their attachments work, and in this article, we’re going to assess the best loadout options for Buck and how they will complement his gameplay of being the team’s soft breacher, as well as being a great vertical attacker.
5. CAMRS with Telescopic B and Suppressor + MK1 9mm with Muzzle Brake and Laser + Hard Breach Charge
A lot of players can get intimidated to use the CAMRS as Buck’s primary weapon. That’s obviously because it’s a designated marksman rifle, and as all marksman rifles go, it’s a single shot weapon. That can make it harder to use during sudden engagements with enemies, especially at close range. As a result, the CAMRS falls behind the C8-SFW in terms of popularity when it comes to being Buck’s primary weapon. But that’s really the main reason why I’m putting it behind the C8-SFW on this list.
The great thing about the CAMRS is that it deals have damage per shot, and while it’s true that it may be harder to use at close range than the C8-SFW, if you have fast hands, you can just simply switch to the SK 4-12 underbarrel shotgun when engaging an enemy at close quarters. That can negate the CAMRS’ weakness at close range. With that, you’ll have a tremendous weapon for medium to long-range shooting, especially when equipped with a suppressor which will provide the user with great stealth benefits.
Excels in:
- Having a primary weapon that is devastating in medium to long-range in the CAMRS marksman rifle whose weakness at close quarters can be negated by the user switching to the SK –412 underbarrel shotgun
- Shooting enemies at medium to long-range with heavy damage while not providing them with a directional threat indicator due to the suppressor on the CAMRS’ barrel which will also remove its muzzle flash
- Having great accuracy from medium to long-range with Buck’s CAMRS due to the Telescopic B sight which will provide the user with 3.0x zoom while its main frame doesn’t take up a lot of screen space
- Having great recoil control on Buck’s MK1 9mm handgun due to the muzzle brake on its barrel which specializes in lowering the recoil of single shot weapons like most handguns
- The two hard breach charges in Buck’s arsenal will provide him and his team with more ways to perform hard breaching on reinforced walls and hatches
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - CAMRS with Telescopic B and Suppressor
- Secondary weapon - MK1 9mm with Muzzle Brake and Laser
- Generic gadget - Hard Breach Charge
4. CAMRS with Telescopic B, Muzzle Brake, and Laser + MK1 9mm with Suppressor and Laser + Stun Grenade
This setup on Buck’s CAMRS is better than the one above because Buck isn’t really a stealthy operator. His role also kind of forces him to be on the front lines or always near where the enemies are, so the stealth benefits from the suppressor which are great for medium to long-range shooting doesn’t apply to him that much. Buck is usually needed by the team to perform soft breaching for entry, as well as vertical plays, so it’s definitely okay for him to go loud and aggressive, which this setup will bring.
The muzzle brake on the CAMRS marksman rifle will ensure Buck will have great recoil control with the weapon because muzzle brakes specialize in lowering the weapon kick of single shot guns. So with this setup, the CAMRS can also be great at close quarters combat, and the added recoil control will really help when shooting enemies between the metal beams of floors when the attacking team is performing a vertical play. The laser attachment will also ensure that Buck will have good aim-down-sight speed which is always a great perk to have especially for close to medium-range encounters.
Excels in:
- Having a great recoil control on Buck’s CAMRS marksman rifle due to the muzzle brake on its barrel which will tremendously lower its vertical recoil, making it much more effective and accurate from any range
- The laser attachment now adds 10% aim-down-sight speed boost on weapons and having that on Buck’s CAMRS will be a great perk for him to have especially on the front lines and during vertical plays
- The telescopic B sight on Buck’s CAMRS marksman rifle will provide him with a 3.0x zoom level which is great for accuracy at any range, even close range, since its frame doesn’t take up much screen space
- The suppressed MK1 9mm handgun will be a great utility for buck when it comes to disabling enemy gadgets like CCTV cameras or Kapkan traps since the suppressor will greatly silence its gunshot sound
- The three stun grenades in Buck’s arsenal will be great for pushing the objective spot since they can blind enemies as well as inflict tinnitus on them that will make it harder for them to hear the attacking team’s sound cues
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - CAMRS with Telescopic B, Muzzle Brake, and Laser
- Secondary weapon - MK1 9mm with Suppressor and Laser
- Generic gadget - Stun Grenade
3. C8-SFW with Magnified B scope and Suppressor + MK1 9mm with Muzzle Brake and Laser + Hard Breach Charge
As mentioned before, the C8-SFW is the more popular primary weapon for players when they’re playing Buck. That’s because it’s fully automatic, therefore, it’s much easier to use. I also mentioned before that Buck isn’t really a stealthy and long-range operator, so the stealth benefits from a suppressed marksman rifle at medium to long-range won’t apply to him that much. However, the stealth benefits from the suppressor on the C8-SFW assault rifle will be greatly beneficial to his usual gameplay and role, even at close to medium range.
That’s because the suppressor will remove the C8-SFW's directional threat indicator and muzzle flash. It will also greatly silence the weapon’s gunshots. With that, even at close to medium range, there could be some delay before enemies learn where Buck is shooting them from. That’s a really great perk to have, especially when Buck is performing a vertical attack and is shooting enemies in between the metal beams of the destroyed wooden floor above the objective spot. That way, they won’t be able to immediately counter.
Excels in:
- The suppressor on the C8-SFW will greatly silence the weapon’s gunshots, making it harder for enemies to immediately know where Buck is shooting from even at close to medium range
- The suppressor on Buck’s C8-SFW assault rifle will also remove its shots’ directional threat indicator and muzzle flash, making it even harder for enemies to know where Buck is shooting them from
- The 2.5x zoom from the magnified B scope will provide Buck with great accuracy regardless of the distance. It’s also great for pinpoint shooting due to its arrowtip reticle.
- The muzzle brake on Buck’s MK1 9mm handgun will provide a lot of recoil control on the weapon, making it very stable and accurate, while the laser will provide a 10% aim-down-sight speed boost
- The two hard breach charges in Buck’s arsenal will be great for destroying two reinforced hatches or even for creating a breach on a reinforced wall that is big enough for an operator go through
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - C8-SFW with Magnified B scope and Suppressor
- Secondary weapon - MK1 9mm with Muzzle Brake and Laser
- Generic gadget - Hard Breach Charge
Recoil pattern test on the C8-SFW in this setup with the author’s own recoil control applied:
2. C8-SFW with Magnified B scope, Flash Hider, and Laser + MK1 9mm with Suppressor and Laser + Stun Grenade
For players who are looking for the best recoil control possible on the C8-SFW assault rifle, this loadout setup will be the best. That’s because the flash hider barrel attachment specializes in lowering the overall vertical recoil of weapons, and for a fully-automatic, rapid firing gun like the C8-SFW, this is a great perk. With its overall vertical recoil reduced, Buck will be able to fire the C8-SFW with great stability and accuracy, even when performing suppressive fire.
As for the laser attachment on the C8-SFW, it won’t be great for holding angles because there’s a high chance that enemies will see it first, but when you’re playing aggressively with Buck on the front lines, the laser would help a lot. That's because it now adds a 10% aim-down-sight speed boost on weapons, and in Siege, the faster you aim, the faster you can take down an enemy. The suppressed MK1 9mm on the other hand will be very useful for Buck when it comes to shooting enemy gadgets with less chance of giving away his position.
Excels in:
- The flash hider on the C8-SFW's barrel will lower the weapon’s overall vertical recoil, making it much more stable which translates to more accuracy, even during long sprays.
- The laser attachment on the C8-SFW will allow Buck to go into aim-down-sight stance with it 10% faster which is really useful for sudden enemy engagements on the front lines or vertical plays
- The magnified B scope on Buck’s C8-SFW assault rifle will provide Buck with a 2.5x zoom level which will allow him to see his targets really well regardless of the distance
- The three stun grenades as Buck’s generic gadget will allow him to blind and deafen enemies on their entrenched positions which will be really useful when it comes to pushing
- The suppressed MK1 9mm handgun’s shots will not have a directional threat indicator and they’ll be much more silent, making the weapon a great utility for disabling enemy gadgets
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - C8-SFW with Magnified B scope, Flash Hider, and Laser
- Secondary weapon - MK1 9mm with Suppressor and Laser
- Generic gadget - Stun Grenade
Recoil pattern test on the C8-SFW in this setup with the author’s own recoil control applied:
1. C8-SFW with Magnified B scope, Extended Barrel, and Laser + MK1 9mm with Suppressor and Laser + Stun Grenade
Since Buck is usually on the front lines or performing a vertical play, an all-out offense loadout would be the best for him. In the front lines, after he’s performed soft breaching for the team’s entry, there’s a high chance of encountering an enemy, and the extended barrel on his C8-SFW assault rifle will be instrumental in taking down that enemy as fast as possible. That’s because the extended barrel now increases weapons’ base damage, on top of its previous benefit of reducing their range-damage drop-off.
So with the C8-SFW in this setup, Buck will be dealing high damage with his C8-SFW, regardless of the range. That’s also very important when it comes to vertical plays, because vertical plays usually involve shooting enemies between the metal beams of destroyed floors. That means there’s usually only a small window of opportunity in shooting them, and it’s always great to be able to deal as much damage as possible during that small window. With this setup, Buck will be an offensive machine, and that fits his role and gameplay the most.
Excels in:
- Dealing higher damage than normal from Buck’s C8-SFW assault rifle because of the extended barrel attachment which increases the base damage of weapons and reduces their range damage drop-off
- Being able to go into aim-down-sight stance on Buck’s C8-SFW assault rifle 10% faster than normal due to the presence of the laser attachment which is a great perk to have for sudden enemy encounters
- The magnified B scope providing Buck with great accuracy on his C8-SFW assault rifle due to its 2.5x zoom level that is great for any range, and its arrowtip reticle which is great for pinpoint shooting
- The MK19mm handgun with a suppressor will be an excellent utility and weapon for a stealth approach on the match and the laser will provide Buck with a 10% aim-down-sight speed boost
- The three stun grenades in Buck’s arsenal will make it easier for him and his teammates to push the objective spot as they can blind and deafen enemies hiding behind cover

- Primary weapon - C8-SFW with Magnified B scope, Extended Barrel, and Laser
- Secondary weapon - MK1 9mm with Suppressor and Laser
- Generic gadget - Stun Grenade
