When you are being an award-winning ghost hunter, let’s face it, you don’t want to be interrupted by the constant hunting phases. At the beginning of a contract, you will have a duration of setup time. These are:
- Amateur- Around 5 Minutes
- Intermediate- Around 2.5 minutes
- Professional and nightmare- no setup time (good luck!)
Here are a few ways on how to avoid hunting for as long as possible.
Step 1: Keep Your Sanity As High As Possible
You or your teammates' level of sanity is one of the key reasons why ghosts chase. Make sure to get sanity tablets to avoid this.
Keeping some of the lights on rather than being in the dark will also help you maintain your sanity. You lose your sanity rather rapidly in the dark.
Step 2: Don’t Use The Cursed Objects
When you are using cursed objects, you are likely to trigger a cursed hunt. So, to be on the safe side, maybe stay away from the cursed objects till you are ready to use them.
Step 3: Using A Crucifix
Using some crucifixes in the ghost room would be one of the best ways to stop a hunt. They must be at least three metres away from the ghost's origin, or five metres away if you're dealing with a demon.
Before the hunting resumes, you will get two uses out of each cross.
Step 4: Smudge Sticks
Depending on whatever ghost is present in that particular game, lighting a smudge stick in the ghost room will stop it from trying to hunt for a set period of time.
Step 5: Knowing When The Ghost Is About To Hunt
Even while you won't always see indications that the ghost is getting ready to hunt, you may sometimes predict when one will occur by observing the pattern of ghost activity. You can look at an activity board in the van as well.
Usually, before a hunt, the activity and interactions become more frequent and obvious, so keep an eye out for the frequency if possible.
