[Top 5] Path of Exile Best Ranger Builds That Wreck Hard!
Together with the Spell changes in 3.17, Archnemesis League, GGG also massively revamped most bow stats, buffing Bow damage massively. Alongside that, new extremely powerful uniques were introduced, which turned the meta upside down, creating a resurgence of massively overpowered bow builds at a pretty cheap investment, and here are some of those builds!
5 – Lightning Arrow Deadeye
Gore Lightning Arrow MTX while mapping
Elemental Bow builds have always been a staple of PoE, and it usually comes in the form of Lightning Arrow, Ice Shot, or Tornado Shot. All have their benefits and problems, and one of the biggest issues in the past was that you either had massively expensive gear or you couldn’t play at all from lack of damage. And with the new buffs, this has changed things, to the point where you can start fairly easily with a new build and amass enough currency to progress.
What the Lightning Arrow Deadeye Excels in:
- Cheap to start and scales to infinity with proper investments.
- Really fun to play and clears screens of mobs.
- Extremely satisfying to play and very straightforward.
- Can do all content, and bosses on a high budget.
Lightning Arrow Deadeye full details:
- As with any Ele Bow build, our focus is to get as high eDPS bow as possible, preferably with +2 Arrows and high attack speed. You can use Imperial Bows (easy 6L) or even Solarine Bows, for a nice chunk of Fire Damage. Since this build relies on Trinity, having a mix of Elemental Damage is great.
- The best way to craft bows is by getting a Fractured Bow with High Flat Ele damage, T1 or T2, and then spam Deafening Essences until you hit a third good mod, either +2 Arrows or T2-T1 Flat Added Elemental Damage.
- You’ll want as much WED as possible, combined with Bow Damage with Attacks on Quivers, as well as tons of Attack Speed, the highest possible. Phys Damage is good since LA converts to Lightning, but it only converts 50%, so half is wasted unless you can convert the rest.

4 – Scourge Arrow Poison Prolif Pathfinder
Scourge Arrow Ballista against The Eater of Worlds
While still a bow build, this one takes a substantially different take to it. While it wasn’t the focus of this expansion and balance changes, Poison, Bleed, and pure Chaos Bow builds also got a substantial buff from the increases to base Physical Damage as well as new stats on Quivers. And this build makes great use of that with Pathfinder’s Prolif to maximize its damage!
What the Scourge Arrow Poison Prolif Excels in:
- Insanely Tanky (I don’t think I’ve seen a tankier build that wasn’t Aegis Block).
- Respectable single Target when properly geared.
- Great clearing through Poison Prolif.
- Can start on a relatively low budget (needs Darkscorn).
- Can do all content.
Scourge Arrow Poison Prolif full details:
- With the introduction of new Eldritch Influence Modifiers as well as the revamp of bows and quivers, and a new unique jewel called Melding of the Flesh, we can now achieve 90% all Res with 75% Chaos Res, and convert 100% of physical damage taken to Elemental or Chaos.
- Combined with that, we also are fully spell suppressed and can move around at over 170% Movement speed. But not only that, as a Pathfinder, we can make use of the most defensive node in the game, Master Surgeon, which not only essentially makes us immune to bleeding and corrupted blood, but heals us for 5% of our life per flask use. With the insane amount of charges gained when hit and with the Trigger, we can essentially become immortal to anything except oneshot, and even then, it has to be a massively strong hit (Stronger than Shaper and Elder Slam) to kill us.
- As for Damage, we can stack over 40 poisons in instants with our Ballista Totems, and we can dodge anything since we’re always moving at the speed of light!

3 – Poisonous Concoction AutoFlaskFinder
Poison Concoction against Aul
Stepping away from bow builds for a bit, I’d be remiss to not mention other builds that are still as strong and relevant as the newcomers. PConcoc is one of the strongest builds for League Starting and can take you from the leveling to the endgame without much of an issue.
What the Poisonous Concoction AutoFlaskFinder Excels in:
- Fantastic League Starter, HC, and SSF viable.
- Incredibly tanky (Sirus Meteor Tanky).
- Permanent and Automatic Flasks (Including Dying Sun).
- Poison Prolif.
- Can do all content.
Poisonous Concoction AutoFlaskFinder full details:
- P.Concoc damage scales based on our Life Flasks, and as such, you have to keep refreshing and updating your flasks as you level, up till you get a beefy Divine Life Flask of upwards of 5k Life recovered. That massively boosts our PConcoc, giving it over 500 base chaos damage.
- The way Pconcoc works, we can overlap our explosions, and as such, we want to scale projectiles as much as possible, using less intuitive gem links, like GMP and Greater Volley, alongside Dying sun, for a total of 10 Overlapping Poisonous Concoctions.
- As for defenses, we are Spell suppressed, Ailment Immune, Fantastic recovery, and since we slow enemies, it’s much easier to dodge, along with having great clearing with Asenath’s Gentle Touch.

2 – Fuzzy Duckzy’s Lightning Strike Raider
Myrmidon Lightning Strike against Sirus
Not the first time I’ve recommended Fuzzy Duckzy’s LS build, and that’s not a surprise, considering how strong of a starter and how insanely well the build scales with investment, capable of reaching dozens of millions of damage.
What Fuzzy Duckzy’s LS Raider Excels in:
- Fantastic Clearing speed.
- Great single target damage.
- Can do all content.
- Fairly Tanky.
- Great League Starter, SSF, HC viable.
Fuzzy Duckzy’s LS Raider full details:
- For clearing, Lightning Strike does everything by itself, but single target, you’ll have to master positioning, as it’s one of the things that most matter for damage. You need to be far away enough to hit twice, both with the projectiles and the melee attack from +1 Strike.
- For defenses, you’ll want to be fully spell suppressed, and with a marginal amount of ES, Grace, and Ghost Dance, you can essentially survive most things, plus everything will be dead long before you reach them, as you can clear screens away from you.
- Your primary source of damage will be an Imperial Claw with a ton of attack speed (very important!) and a bucket load of local Added Flat Elemental Damage, preferably Cold and Lightning, as then it would enable Trinity to proc, for extra Ele Pen and damage.

1 – Crystalized Omniscience Tornado Shot Deadeye
Tornado Shot Purple Crystal MTX
Crystalized Omniscience is probably one of the biggest mistakes and simultaneously one of the strongest items GGG ever made, in basic raw power. Combining it with massive Elemental Bow Buffs, we are left with a ton of damage and can essentially ignore Resistances both on our gear and on enemies, as we shred through any, having over 130% Triple Ele Pen and 130% All Ele Res.
What the Crystalized Omniscience Tornado Shot Excels in:
- One of the best clearing skills in the game
- Can delete bosses with proper investment
- Scales supremely well
Crystalized Omniscience Tornado Shot full details:
- While this build can be quite squishy, and thus not played in hardcore, we tend to circumvent this issue by simply killing everything in our path way before we are killed. Getting your hands on a 6-Linked 1000+ eDPS bow is quite cheap this late in the league, and as such, there’s no need to worry further about lack of damage.
- Since we are an Omni Build, our gearing is unique, forgoing any form of resistance in lieu of Attributes, stacking it as much as possible, granting us 1% Ele Pen and 1% All Elemental Res per 10 Omni, and we can easily reach over 1300 Omni.
- The most important thing for Tornado Shot is extra projectiles, and as such, we try to get it both on our bow +1/+2 and through our Quiver +1. That, combined with a Dying Sun pretty much covers our need. Having TS Helmet Enchant is quite good too if you want to spend that small fortune.
