When it comes to No Man’s Sky, one of the most exciting parts of the game is fighting off pirates or firing on freighters. For that, you’ll need some pretty sick weapons. Today, I’ll be listing down the top five weapons you can have for your starship.
5) Positron Injector
No Man's Sky Beyond - Comprehensive Guide to Ship Weapons & Upgrades (1:38)
The Positron Injector and all its upgrades are good for any starship battle you find yourself in, even if that’s just firing on a freighter and taking down all of its frigates.
Weapon Stats:
- Once fully upgraded, it can do heavy amounts of damage, acting a bit like a shotgun given a lot of weaponized steroids.
- Each upgrade - which comes in different classes, all the way up to S-Class - to the Positron Injector gives it an additional 3% of damage, 20% fire rate, 20% accuracy, and 15% heat dispersion (this keeps your weapon from overheating).
- A fully upgraded Positron Injector will deal about 8000 damage per bullet.
- Worth about 150-300 nanites per upgrade.
How To Get It:
- You talk to the starship upgraders at the space station and buy the blueprint for 150 nanites a piece.
- Once you have the blueprints, all you have to do is install it on your ship and put it together.
4) Infra-Knife Accelerator
No Man's Sky Beyond - Comprehensive Guide to Ship Weapons & Upgrades (3:11)
The Infra-Knife Accelerator is good for long range fights but be warned, it overheats quickly and has a long cool down time, leaving you susceptible to damage for a short period of time.
Weapon Stats:
- It is basically the exact opposite of the Positron Injector in that it has a greater range but less damage per bullet ratio.
- Each upgrade - which comes in different classes as well - adds up to 10% damage, 10% fire range, and 8% heat dispersion.
- A fully upgraded Infra-Knife Accelerator deals about 250 damage per bullet.
- Worth about 150-300 nanites.
How To Get It:
- You talk to the starship upgraders at the space station and buy the blueprint for 150 nanites a piece.
- Once you have the blueprints, all you have to do is install it on your ship and put it together.
3) Cyclotron Ballista
No Man's Sky Beyond - Comprehensive Guide to Ship Weapons & Upgrades (4:32)
The Cyclotron Ballista is good for both long and close range fighting, shooting out balls of energy that don’t stop until they hit something. It deals a good amount of damage but not nearly as much as the Positron Injector.
Weapon Stats:
- The Cyclotron Ballista is about in between the Infra-Knife and the Positron in terms of damage dealt.
- Each upgrade gives an additional 3% damage, 12% fire rate, and 35% heat dispersion.
- Each bullet deals about 1.5 to 2.5 thousand damage per bullet.
- Worth about 150-300 nanites.
How To Get It:
- You talk to the starship upgraders at the space station and buy the blueprint for 150 nanites a piece.
- Once you have the blueprints, all you have to do is install it on your ship and put it together.
2) Rocket Launcher
No Man's Sky Beyond - Comprehensive Guide to Ship Weapons & Upgrades (6:00)
The Rocket Launcher is good for close and long range fighting, no matter who you’re against. However, it’s best used as a secondary weapon because it doesn’t track targets like the other weapons do, making it hard if they’re trying to flank you or if there’s a high number of enemies.
Weapon Stats:
- The Rocket Launcher only comes with only one unlockable upgrade which gives you a 20% boost in heat dispersion.
- It does about 800 damage per bullet - or should I say rocket?
- Worth about 150-300 nanites.
How To Get It:
- You talk to the starship upgraders at the space station and buy the blueprint for 150 nanites a piece.
- Once you have the blueprints, all you have to do is install it on your ship and put it together.
1) Photon Cannon
No Man's Sky Beyond - Comprehensive Guide to Ship Weapons & Upgrades (7:30)
The Photon Cannon is with you from the start of the game and you can’t get rid of it. You can, however, upgrade it to a very strong weapon. It’s best used for close range fighting.
Weapon Stats:
- Each upgrade adds benefits to the Photon Cannon, one of them giving you an additional 21% in heat dispersion and another giving you 3% heat dispersion, 6% damage, and 3% fire rate.
- Each bullet does about 1510 damage per bullet but it fires quickly, adding up the amount of damage it does rather quickly.
- Worth about 150-300 nanites.
How To Get It:
- You have the Photon Cannon from the start of the game, the upgrades, however, you don’t. In order to get the upgrades, you talk to the starship upgraders at the space station and buy the blueprints for the upgrades for 150 nanites a piece.
- Once you have the blueprints, all you have to do is install it on your ship and put it together.
