Hide and Shriek is a free multiplayer game in which two players face off in 10-minute matches where their goal is to scare one another. The catch is they are both invisible. You must use a variety of spells and traps to reveal your opponent and give him a scare!
Unfortunately, the game has only one map which gets old pretty quick, but it makes up for it with a variety of spells and traps, and just pure mindless fun it offers. The game is simple to get in and makes for some fun, maybe even slightly competitive, gameplay if you can get a friend to play it with you.

Cry Of Fear is a first-person shooter horror game. You play as a young man in an ominous city, slowly descending into madness. The story is greatly inspired by the symbolism of the original resident evil games.
The game started off as a Half-Life mod and that’s very apparent once you start playing it. Cry Of Fear is a shooter game that really puts a lot of care and effort into its guns. They are detailed and satisfying to use.
The game can be played as a single-player experience without any problems but why wouldn’t you want to play it with a friend if you have the option to?
You and up to 3 of your friends can play the Co-Op campaign together. Usually, games are more fun if you have a few friends, and Cry Of Fear is no exception. You may lose out on a bit of its creepiness but the game’s still very enjoyable.

Don’t Starve Together is a top-down survival game that can be considered horror if you stretch the meaning of horror games a bit. It’s a standalone expansion to the original game which didn’t include multiplayer.
Don’t Starve Together is a survival game with a very carefully thought-through resource system. There are a lot of resources you will need to look for during a single run of the game if you want to craft valuable items. The original game will probably have you search around the internet for guides to understand and beat it, but Don’t Starve Together makes this process a bit more fun.
You still have to look around the internet and slowly start to understand the game if you want to progress but it’s a lot less tedious if you’re not doing those things alone. You and a couple of friends can try to get a deep understanding of the game or you can just have fun in a nice little sandbox world. Either way, it’s a fun game with beautiful cartoony graphics that’s worth a shot.

Deceit is a game of deception. You wake up randomly in an unknown surroundings hearing the gamemaster’s voice. There are 5 people around you and two of you have been infected to transform into monsters. Deceit is a game of survival in which you have to prove your innocence or fake it.
Deceit is a great free multiplayer horror game. Many tools can shift your strategies during the matches. You can play as either a human or an infected. If you’re a human your goal is to survive until the end without getting killed by the infected. If you’re infected you have to slowly kill the humans without letting them figure out who you are.
Neither of the randomly-assigned two options feels weak or boring. There are so many strategies and ways you can fool the other players since the game is largely based around lying and fooling each other via the in-game voice chat. It’s a great casual time killer but it’s also a game that you can practice and master and it gets even better once you do that.

Left 4 Dead 2 is a genre-defining game developed by Valve. It’s a first-person survival horror game in which you play as one of the survivors during the zombie apocalypse. The game was released 13 years ago but it still holds up really well.
In Left 4 Dead 2 you will most often find yourself chaotically panicking and shooting through a horde of zombies while trying to regroup with your friends. It’s a game that can become pretty difficult at times but still always feel fair and challenging and not needlessly too hard. It’s really rewarding to slowly learn the maps and how to position yourself to avoid certain enemies.
The game has a couple of levels that are all different from one another. One moment you could be in a zombie-infested swamp and on the very next level you could be running through a zombie-infested carnival. The gameplay is very satisfying and Left 4 Dead 2 is probably one of the best games to casually play with your friends.
