Commander is a great game mode to play in MTG as it provides a lot of dynamic games. You can have a lot of unique interactions since you only have one copy of each card, making the games highly interesting. Artifact Commanders are not that rampant but there are still a lot of powerful interactions you can get from playing these cards.
10. Karn, Silver Golem
Image
What’s good about this card?
- One good advantage of having Karn, Silver Golem is that it will be difficult to kill when it attacks or blocks
- When it blocks or gets blocked, it becomes a creature with 8 toughness. Not a lot of creatures can deal lethal damage to Karn which results in it sticking to the battlefield longer
- It is also a great way to launch surprise attacks as you can turn your other non-artifact permanents into creatures
9. Sharuum, the Hegemon
Image
What’s good about this card?
- This 6-mana artifact creature can be quite expensive as the game of commander progresses, but it can still give you a good advantage
- Since its ETB ability only says artifact, you can also return artifact creatures, making it a good retrieval card
8. Memnarch
Image
What’s good about this card?
- Memnarch is a highly powerful card as it has the ability to gain control of any permanent in the battlefield
- If the permanent you are eyeing is an artifact, you can simply pay 4 mana to gain control of it immediately
- However, you can pay 3 mana to turn any permanent into an artifact, allowing you to gain control of it when you pay another 4 mana
- This is a powerful card that can quickly wipe the opponent’s board, even their lands
7. Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer
Image
What’s good about this card?
- A powerful card in token-centric decks, Brudiclad allows you to create an army of artifact tokens that can overrun the opponent’s board
- Not only does it create a 2/1 Myr at the beginning of your combat step, it also gives them haste and it can turn all your tokens into a copy of a stronger token you control
- This ability can create attacking opportunities out of nowhere
6. Breya, Etherium Shaper
Image
What’s good about this card?
- Breya, Etherium Shaper is a good card especially in control decks because of its abilities that you can activate
- When casting Breya, you get 3 creatures for the price of one, which is already an advantage
- You can then sacrifice artifacts to either deal damage to a player or planeswalker, deal -4/-4 to any creature, or gain 5 life
5. Ramos, Dragon Engine
Image
What’s good about this card?
- Ramos, Dragon Engine can quickly grow into a huge creature as it can get a lot of +1/+1 counters when you cast multicolored spells
- When you get a huge stack of +1/+1 counters, this flying creature can be a real nuisance as it will be difficult to contain
- Aside from that, you can remove five +1/+1 counters to get 2 mana of each color. This is a really OP ability that allows you to cast almost anything on your hand
4. Silas Renn, Seeker Adept
Image
What’s good about this card?
- Filling your graveyard with artifacts is a good way to utilize Silas Renn’s ability
- Since it has a low mana cost, you can easily deal damage early on so that you can get back and cast artifacts from your graveyard
- Aside from that, you can have two Commanders since Silas Renn has the Partner ability
3. Golos, Tireless Pilgrim
Image
What’s good about this card?
- Golos is a flexible card that you can use in any deck
- You can use this as a way to ramp for future turns or even to look for powerful land cards in your library
- You can also cheat in a lot of cards with Golos’s activated ability. You can cast at most 3 cards for the cheap price of 7 mana
2. Alibou, Ancient Witness
Image
What’s good about this card?
- Alibou is a great Commander to have in an artifact deck as it provides a lot of value the more artifacts you have on the board
- This card gives all your artifact creatures haste, allowing them to make an impact immediately
- Aside from that, you also get to deal damage to the opponent and scry cards depending on the number of tapped artifacts you have
- This doubles your damage output and at the same time gives you a huge card advantage
1. Sen Triplets
Image
What’s good about this card?
- The ultimate boss card in terms of Artifact Commanders, Sen Triplets can control the game and give you an unparalleled advantage
- You can be oppressive with this card and not allow a certain player to play their cards which means you have one less opponent to deal with
- You can also supplement your deck with the cards in your opponent’s hand so you can deal with whatever threat there is
