So you want to get rich and dominate the world?

Trading is the best way to make early money in Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord. Besides getting early money, it also has a powerful 300th level perk. Everything Has a Price.

Everything Has a Price allows you to buy and sell strongholds using the barter menu. This perk will be a critical tool for your army to get the money it needs. At the same time, you can consolidate your lands and give strongholds to lords that you like.

To get to level 300 in trade and get the money we need to buy and sell cities, we’re going to need some great strategies and a lot of money. Here are the top 3 ways to power level your trading while making some serious cash.

3. Flood the Market

Flooding the market is the ultimate buy low sell high strategy. Prices in Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord are determined locally by scarcity. Trading experience, on the other hand, is made by buying low and selling high.

You will dump goods onto an already low-cost city. Then you will repurchase them, getting extra experience for the additional low cost of the products.

Why Flooding the Market is Great:

  • The idea is to be less efficient at making money but more efficient at gaining trading experience.

How It Works:

  • Buy trade goods in one low-cost city and dump them in another low-cost city.
  • Now that you have artificially lowered the cost of that trade good in the second city, exit to the world map.
  • Return to the city and buy the extra low-cost trade goods.
  • Take them to a high-cost city.
  • Sell the trade goods for some profit and high trading experience.

2. Horse Trading

Horse trading is the bread and butter of global trading. By concentrating your trade networks on horses, you can still make some money buying and selling other trade goods while managing your weight and making significant profits. Aserai horses are particularly costly, so they are an excellent value for the burden, but all horses sell quickly.

Why Horse Trading is Great:

  • Horse prices are predictable, with some cities always having low prices.
  • A load of Aserai horses can make huge profits and experience.
  • Horses sell for a high price, making high per-trip profits.

How It Works:

  • Buy horses in low-cost cities such as Akkalat, Odokh, Charas, Hubyar, and Danustica
  • Buy multiple categories of horses if possible. (workhorses, horses, and war horses)
  • Remember, having more live animals than soldiers will slow you down, so don’t take too many horses on one trip.
  • Sell horses in higher-priced cities, taking care not to flood the market too much with any single category. High-priced cities will constantly change as you trade and flood the markets. Keep moving on to fresh markets.
  • Buy some low-cost trade goods along the way to trade and supplement your profits.

1. Workshop Monopoly

There's no free parking in this Monopoly.

Workshop Monopoly creates a problem so that you can solve it.  The idea is to create artificial scarcity so that you can feed raw materials with your caravans. Prices in Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord are local. You can make money on both ends by supplying the raw materials and upgrading those materials into finished products using your workshops.

Why Workshop Monopolies are Great:

  • Guaranteed market for your raw materials.
  • Control the market.
  • Make money on both ends with raw materials and finished goods.

How It Works:

  • Buy a workshop in a city where the finished products sell for a high price, but the raw materials are scarce. Good cities will change in each game depending on local events.
  • Bring the raw materials to the city yourself, and profit from the high demand.
  • Take excess finished product out of the city to sustain the high margin on finished goods.
