The Voice behind it all
Throughout the Mortal Kombat franchise, no matter which installment a person chooses to play one thing remains constant to keep drawing in newcomers and always keeps players on the edge of their seat with anticipation. I’m not talking about the roster or even the move list. I’m talking about the announcer! The Announcers play a key role in the franchise believe it or not. Whether it’s the chilling way they announce characters or the way that iconic, “Finish Him” rolls off the tongue. Some may ask, how many announcers are there and who are they? Here’s a list of the top 5 announcers in the latest Mortal Kombat installment, “Mortal Kombat 11”.

#1. The Klassic
The “Klassic” refers to the default voice over by Jamieson Price .This has been the case since the reboot of the franchise in 2011 (Mortal Kombat 9). This used to be the job of Stevie Ritchie but we’ll get to him later. What’s not to love about this intimidating voiceover? Nothing short of pure art and nostalgia. Makes sense that Price keeps scoring the role.
#2. Shao Khan

Now it's a no brainer why the fans love this voice. It’s chilling, masculine, intimating, and frankly just sounds good. And this makes complete since seeing as the voice of Khan is none other than Stevie Ritchie, who has reached godlike status in the Mortal Kombat community. Beside being the first to suggest turning the, “C” to a “K” in the franchise, he also was the original announcer as well as Shao Khan since Mortal Kombat 2. Obtaining Shao Khan as an announcer voice is simple enough. All a player has to do is complete all the training missions and there you go!
#3. Kronika

For this cool, yet chilling voiceover all a player has to do is link their console to the mobile app. Too easy? Kronika, being the only female announcer in MK 11, so far and without mods, is a great addition to the game. Like a queen of warfare it makes the fighter not want to disappoint. Just that fear of failure I presume.
#4. Raiden

One of the more recent announcers added to the roster and point blank period an amazing additionis none other than the God of Thunder himself, Raiden. All players are able to get this announcer voice simply by subscribing to the newsletter which startedDecember 2019 when it was released. Who wouldn’t love to hear the protector of Earthrealm announce their favorite character or even a smooth, subtle, “Flawless Victory”
#5. Johnny Cage

“Khannnnn!!!” Sorry. Lastly but definitely one of the best is none other than Johnny Cage. In my opinion, Cage’s introductions and arena selection voice overs are the best. Being the most versatile utilizing custom nicknames for all characters, hilarious side comments, and an all around lively tone added to the fight. It’s actually hard to stay focused once first equipped. With that being said, Cage is the hardest announcer to obtain (as of now) seeing that a player must place and continue to remain in at least the top 10% throughout the entire week in the, “Towers of Time” game mode. Specifically in the “Race Against Time” tower.
