In Final Fantasy XIV, as in other MMO Games, there is a global currency called Gil that all players use to trade items on the Market Board. Gil can be obtained in a variety of ways, including questing, crafting, gathering, combat, and many others.
While Gil is not as important a currency for players to gain strength as it is in other games, it is still useful for purchasing unique and cute items such as specific mounts and minions that can be sold on the Market Board. It also makes it easier for players to grind some of the items they require. Are you too lazy to go looking for Materia to meld? Then they can easily purchase them in seconds via the Market Board!
Crafting or gathering is quite well as one of the fastest and most effective ways to obtain Gil. However, these two specific ways may not be enjoyed by many players, particularly those who are more interested in combat. As a result, many combat-focused players are broke inside the game and cannot afford the cute minions they desire.
Because of this, this article will assist players who are not interested in crafting or gathering in obtaining Gil without engaging in either of these activities, as well as listing five of the best ways to make money in FFXIV.
5. Gardening
Flowers that players can easily plant in apartments which will bloom in one day (aka they won’t die!).
One of the simplest ways for players to generate passive income for themselves. Gardening can be started on any house owned by the player. If the player does not own a private house, he or she can do it in a private apartment or FC Private Room, which can be purchased for a much lower price.
Players can begin gardening by researching which plants they can plant. House owners can crossbreed common seeds to obtain rare seeds, which sell for a high price on the Market Board. Jute, Cloudsbreath, Thavnairian Onion, and all Gardening Minions are examples of common and simple crossbreeding gardening plants.
For FC private room and apartment owners, players can instead purchase cheap seeds from housing merchant vendors located throughout the housing districts. These seeds can grow into flowers and be dyed with pomace throughout the growing season. Pomace is classified into three types: red, blue, and yellow. Every hour, players can fertilize a plant. Players can get a combination of colors such as purple, green, black, white, or even rainbow by using multiple pomaces of different colors.
These flowers can be transformed into lovely headpieces, which are a favorite item of many players, particularly Viera, because they are one of the few headpieces she can actually wear as a glamour. Flowers that players can plant include Hydrangea, Hyacinth, Cosmos, Carnation, and many others.
4. Grand Company Seals
Players can join one of the three Grand Companies in Eorzea not long after they start out the Main Scenario Quest of A Realm Reborn.
Your Grand Company can also be a good source of income, especially if you prefer to grind battle-related content for Gil rather than crafting or gathering, or if you don't want to deal with houses, apartments, or gardening.
After joining one of the MSQ's three Grand Companies, players can begin earning Grand Company Seals, a unique currency that can be obtained in a variety of ways. Players will want to start using these seals by ranking up in their respective Grand Companies, as this will unlock more and more items that can be purchased with said seals.
How to quickly get Grand Company Seals in FFXIV:
- FATE Farming (in all areas, but the higher level the more seals you can get).
- Grand Company’s Hunting Logs – which you will also be required to complete to reach the higher ranks.
- Supply and Provision Missions – these are daily quests that require a player to submit specific materials to the Grand Company, which can easily be bought through the Market Board. It is also an easy and leisure way to level up your gatherers and crafters on the side.
- Expert Delivery Missions – need and greed every equipment that drops in the dungeons you go to, and deliver them to your Grand Company for seals. The higher the equipment you deliver, the more seals you will get from them.
- Daily Roulettes – doing these will also gain you seals along with levelling up your battle jobs. Specifically, Leveling and Guildhest Roulettes.
- Grand Company Leves – this will be unlocked through blue quests scattered all over the map. It is a good way to gain seals if you have no other use for levequests (which is likely to happen if you do not do any crafting or gathering, especially at higher levels!).
Now that you know how to quickly farm Grand Company seals to rank up and stock to buy items, here is a list of items you can buy with your seals that may earn you Gil. Please keep in mind that you can purchase these items from your Grand Company's Quartermaster, who will be stationed in your respective Grand Company base.
- Cordial (500 Seals each): an item that is very important for gatherers. It will quickly sell out in the Market Board.
- Glamour Prism (200 Seals each): you will need these to be able to put any gear into your glamour dresser, so players will always need them. It will also sell quickly once you put them in the Market Board.
- Materiel Container 3.0 & 4.0 (20.000 Seals each): these containers will be able to get you a random minion or mount from Heavensward and Stormblood respectively. If you’re really lucky, you can get a mount which can be sold for millions in the Market Board!
- Glass Fiber (7000 Seals each): it is an important material for Free Companies to build up their Submarines, so these will be sold relatively expensive in the Market Board.
- Coke (200 Seals each) and Hardened Sap (200 Seals each): it is a primary material to craft a lot of lumbers and is also required to build the Free Company’s submarines.
- And many other materials that can sell well depending on the player’s server–browse around what you might be able to sell as a niche!
3. Shadowbringers & Endwalker FATE Farming
Mare Lamentorum, also known as the Moon, one of the newest cool areas in Endwalker.
Final Fantasy XIV's developers began to make FATEs more relevant and important, yielding better rewards, with the addition of the new Shared FATE system in Shadowbringers, and it has been further emphasized in Endwalker.
Players will be able to access the Shared FATE system in both Shadowbringers and Endwalker to see their levels for each area in both expansions. Players will automatically start at level 1 for each field area and can progress all the way to level 3. To level up to level 3, players must complete 66 FATEs in one area.
Furthermore, starting with Shadowbringers and progressing to Endwalker, completing FATEs in these two expansions' areas will grant players Bicolor Gemstones, a unique currency that can only be obtained by clearing FATEs in the Shadowbringers and Endwalker field areas. Bicolor Gemstones can be used to purchase one-of-a-kind items in each field area, such as Orchestrion Rolls, Minions, crafting materials, housing furniture, chocobo bardings, Triple Triad Cards, and many more. Some of these items can be sold on the Market Board for a large amount of Gil.
Several items that you can buy with Bicolor Gemstone to sell on the Market Board are listed below, along with the amount of Bicolor Gemstone required to buy them, as well as the area and level requirement to buy them:
- Orchestrion Rolls/Shadowbringers Areas:
- Full Fathom Five Orchestrion Roll (Shared FATE Level 3 in The Tempest, 350 Bicolor Gemstones to buy, can be sold in the Market Board for 400k Gil).
- Neath Dark Waters Orchestrion Roll (Shared FATE Level 2 in The Tempest, 350 Bicolor Gemstones to buy, can be sold in the Market Board for 250k Gil).
- Sands of Amber Orchestrion Roll (Shared FATE Level 3 in Amh Araeng, 350 Bicolor Gemstones to buy, can be sold in the Market Board for 400k Gil).
- Knowledge Never Sleeps Orchestrion Roll (Shared FATE Level 3 in all 6 Shadowbringers field area, 350 Bicolor Gemstones to buy, can be sold in the Market Board for more than 500k Gil).
- Housing Furniture/Shadowbringers Areas:
- Allagan Tomestone of Frivolity (Shared FATE Level 3 in all 6 Shadowbringers field area, 100 Bicolor Gemstones to buy, can be sold in the Market Board for 200k Gil).
- Crystarium Wall Chronometer (Shared FATE Level 3 in all 6 Shadowbringers field area, 100 Bicolor Gemstones to buy, can be sold in the Market Board for 200k Gil).
- Elemental Wheel (Shared FATE Level 2 in Il Mheg, 100 Bicolor Gemstones to buy, can be sold in the Market Board for 100k Gil).
- Rope Stanchion (Shared FATE Level 3 in all 6 Shadowbringers field area, 25 Bicolor Gemstones to buy, can be sold in the Market Board for 50k Gil).
- Endwalker Area:
- Unfortunately, all of the furniture and orchestrion rolls earned in Endwalker area could not be sold in the Market Board, however, there are still many items players can obtain to sell for Gil.
- Crafting Materials, price might depend on the player’s server so it is wise to do some market research beforehand. They only cost 2 Bicolor Gemstones for 1 Material. Some examples that are often bought in the Market Board are Berkanan Sap, Luncheon Toad Skin, Ovibos Milk, and Gaja Hide.
- Bicolor Gemstone Voucher (Shared FATE Level 3 in all 6 Endwalker field areas, 100 Bicolor Gemstones for one, can be sold in the Market Board for 120k Gil or more depending on server). The reason why this specific voucher sold for a lot of Gil is because it can be traded into:
- Wivre Horn (500 Vouchers, the horn can be sold for more than 50 million Gil in the Market Board).
- Fallen Angel Wings (500 Vouchers, the horn can also be sold for more than 50 million Gil in the Market Board).
- Players prefer to buy the voucher as the amount of Bicolor Gemstone they need in total for 500 vouchers is a whopping 50,000.
2. Aphorism Materials
Collecting Allagan Tomestones of Aphorism, one of the game's two newest battle currencies, is another simple way for players to earn Gil by doing battle content.
Now that the Allagan Tomestones of Astronomy, aka the gear currency required to purchase BiS gear, have been released, the gear that can be purchased with Allagan Tomestones of Aphorism serves as nothing more than a starter gear for newly maxed leveled battle jobs. The Allagan Tomestones of Aphorism, on the other hand, are far from useless.
This is due to the fact that Allagan Tomestones of Aphorism can be used to purchase crafting materials in Radz-at-Han, and these materials are required to craft level 90 iLVL 580 battle gear, known as Classical Gears.
As a result, crafters will always require a steady supply of the five unique Classical Gear Crafting Materials, which can only be obtained by purchasing them with Allagan Tomestones of Aphorism and can be sold for a high price on the Market Board. Alchemical Abrasive, Thavnairian Thread, Amynodon Hide, Thavnairian Horsetail, and Alchemical Charcoal are the materials used. All of these can be purchased for 20 Allagan Tomestones of Aphorism per piece at Radz-at-Han.
It is also very simple to obtain Allagan Tomestones of Aphorism. Any Daily Duty Roulette will reward you with a large number of these if you queue for any level 90 battle job. Level 90 dungeons, of course, will reward you with more of these upon completion. It is worth noting that queueing with in-demand level 90 roles (most commonly Tank/Healer, which can be checked in Duty Roulette) will grant you additional Aphorism.
1.Treasure Maps
The newest Treasure Hunt Portal Map in the game for Endwalker, Excitatron 6000.
Last but not least, one of the most well-known and effective methods of obtaining Gil without having to craft or gather in-game–treasure maps! To begin, in order to obtain Treasure Maps in Final Fantasy XIV, players must first complete the blue quest 'Treasures and Tribulations' in Eastern La Noscea.
Players can easily obtain the Treasure Map required through the Market Board for a reasonable price and then proceed to hunt for their treasure.
Specific Treasure Maps (Dragonskin, Gazelle, Zonureskin, and Kumbhiraskin) can also spawn Portals, which teleport players into a synced instance when touched, allowing them to test their luck and fortune. To clear the portals, it is always recommended to go with a party of at least three or four players.
In fact, it is not only the unique materials obtained by completing treasures in Endwalker areas and portals that sell for a high price on the Market Board. Shell Leathers, for example, which can only be obtained through Shadowbringers Treasure Maps, are currently selling for 400k Gil per piece on the Market Board.
As a result, it is a good idea to check out your server's Market Board and see which unique Treasure Map items are currently selling for a high price, as this may change over time. Go ahead and try your luck in the fun Treasure Map side content while earning tons of Gil to enjoy!
