Wondering what kind of Sword and Shield is best suited for your Paladin? Well, you to the right place!
As one of the oldest classes in the book, what kind of equipment are you looking for as a Paladin? Stylish or cool? Or maybe protective? Check out these weapons and see if any will suits your fancy!
15. Morbid Moggle Mogblade
Now, I have to include this sword! Design-wise, Mogblade has an excellent design for a sword; unfortunately, let's admit that we cannot take it seriously with that Moogle SFXs every time we draw the weapon.
How to get it:- To craft, you will have to finish the trial to get the material necessary, Thornmarch (Extreme), to get the King Whisker item.
- Or buy from the Market Board.
14. Empyrean Blade
Ready to attract and protect you all!
Heaven-on-High is a deep dungeon you can do as a team or solo! You can also save your progress in this dungeon! You can get Empyrean Blade by collecting Empyrean Aetherpool Grip from doing Heaven-on-High!
How to get it:
- Do the Heaven-on-High deep dungeon,
- Trade 10 Empyrean Aetherpool Grip to Confederate Custodian in The Ruby Sea.
13. Augmented Misos
Misos is from one of Shadowbringer’s MSQ final trial. I do not want to spoil the enemy, but you could all probably guess. The design for the weapon itself is excellent, and the VFX's touch makes it look fantastic!
How to get it:
- To craft, you will have to finish the trial to get the material necessary, The Minstrel's Ballad: Hades's Elegy, to get the Hades's Auracite item.
- Or buy from the Market Board.
12. Blade of the Demon
If you want a shining ice and fire blade, this one is for you. Like where it comes from, you will wield the power of ice and fire in your hand (not really). I find the VFX too bright for me but some people seem to like this weapon!
How to get it:
- To craft, you will have to finish the trial to get the material necessary, Containment Bay Z1T9 (Extreme), to get the Zurvanite Carapace Fragment.
- Or buy from the Market Board.
11. Suzaku’s Flame-kissed Longsword and Shield
Suzaku's sword is a legit one. The design is very detailed, and you can see something written on the sword. I wish my character was not a Lalafell so I could see what is written. The fiery effect combined with the red feather VFX is stunning to see.
How to get it:
- To craft, you will have to finish the trial to get the material necessary, Hells’ Kier (Extreme), to get the Scarlet Tailfeather item.
- Or buy from the Market Board.
10. Tsukuyomi's Longsword and Shield
A full moon and a sword.
If you prefer a simple sword and round shield, then this may be your choice. The shield even has a unique animation, and it is fantastic. The black Blade is suitable for almost any kind of glamour!
How to get it:
- To craft, you will have to finish the trial to get the material necessary, The Minstrel's Ballad: Tsukuyomi's Pain, to get the Celestial Kimono Remnant item.
- Or buy from the Market Board.
9. The Fae's Crown Sword & Shield
The effect of the Fae's weapon is suitable for elegant glamour. If your tanks have an elegant glamour, then you may wanna go for this weapon and shield. The visual effect and round shield look great yet strong.
How to get it:
- To craft, you will have to finish the trial to get the material necessary, The Dancing Plague (Extreme), to get the Dancing Wing item.
- Or buy from the Market Board.
8. Excalibur Zeta and Aegis Shield Zeta
Do we have Excalibur in FFXIV? Well, of course! We even have an Aegis shield! Now, to get this Excalibur Zeta, you will have to go through some long boring quests and missions to be able to complete this relic. Yes, it is a relic, and it is from A Realm Reborn. So be prepared!
How to get it:
- Clear the quest 'The Vital Title,'
- Trade 1 Home of the Brave, Excalibur, and Aegis Shield to Jalzahn in North Shroud (29.5, 19.6).
7. Kinna Blade
This Blade suits your Dark Armored Paladin. Every weapon design from the Palace of the Death has that chaotic vibe, Paladin no exception.
How to get it:
- Do the Palace of the Dead deep dungeon,
- Trade 1 Padjali Blade and 6 Aetherpool Grip to E-Una-Kotor in South Shroud.
6. Antea & Bellerophon Physeos
To get the Physeos weapons, you will need to complete the Eureka Relic quests. This is a relic from Stromblood. A bit long and grindy, but unlike ARR, this is way more bearable. If you prefer a diamond shield with and nice blue color.
How to get it:
- Clear the quest 'The Baldesion Arsenal',
- Trade 1 Torigashira Eureka and 100 Eureka Fragment to Gerolt in Eureka Hydatos.
5. Blade's Honor & Fortitude
Relic weapon of Shadowbringer expansion; you will have to finish the relic quests to get one weapon of your choosing. If you want an awesome-looking roundshield, you may want to go with this one.
How to get it:
- Complete the quest 'Irresistible', to get one of the relic weapons of your choosing.
4. Ultimate Dreadwyrm Blade
After all the relics, deep dungeons, and buyable weapons, we move on to the Ultimate Raids weapon! This one is from The Unending Coil of Bahamut (Ultimate). You will get a token for clearing it. The shining yellow sword and shield will suit many kinds of glamour!
How to get it:
- You have to clear The Unending Coil of Bahamut (Ultimate) to get a token,
- Trade the token in Rhalgr's Reach with the NPC Eschina.
3. Curtana Ultima
A simple and elegant design is best to describe this weapon. The primary color is blue, and the meteor-like VFX gives it a great touch; this set has a nice big shield.
How to get it:
- You have to clear Ultima Weapon (Ultimate) to get a token,
- Trade the token in Rhalgr's Reach with the NPC Eschina.
2. Ultimate Almace & Ancile
Ancile (the shield) has a unique shape for a shield. The clock-like effect reminds you of Alexander. While the sword still shines even when it sheaths. Most equipment will only show its VFX when drawn, but Alexander sets make the difference.
How to get it:
- You have to clear The Epic of Alexander (Ultimate),
- Trade the token in Idyllshire with the NPC Bertana.
1. Ultimate Sword and Shield of the Heavens
All the sets from this Raid are worth their complexity. The current hardest Raid is waiting for you! If you prefer a rectangle shield, you may want to use this set.
How to get it:
- You have to clear Dragonsongs Reprise (Ultimate) to get a token,
- Trade the token in Radz-at-Han, with the NPC Nesvaaz.
What do you think? What kind of shield do you prefer? A big one? A small one? Or maybe the round one? Whichever you choose, you can now mix and match your weapons to your glamour!
