In an MMORPG like EVE: Online where nearly all the ships, modules, consumables, and structures in-game were built by players, the sheer amount of raw materials processed through the industrial complexes is absolutely jaw-dropping.

Luckily, you have the opportunity to take advantage of this demand and bite into the market!

There are many types of raw materials to be mined, and some are worth more than others. We’ll be going through the best 10 ores, ices, and moons to mine that give you the best possible ISK/hr.

10. Krystallos: 0.86M ISK/1 Block

Krystallos is the first and only entry of ice on this list, with all other glaciers generally being worth less than ores. Krystallos gets virtually all of its value through its refined yield of Strontium Clathrates, the rest coming from its comparatively small yield of Heavy Water and Liquid Ozone.

Mining ice requires special equipment, Ice Harvesters and Ice Mining Lasers.

Strontium Clathrates are used for:

  • Interdiction probes
  • Fuel blocks
  • Combat Scanner probes
  • Cynosural Fields except Industrial
  • Special Item Deactivated Key Pass
  • Fuel for Siege Modules and Entosis Links

9. Dark Ochre: 1.11M ISK/1000 m3

Dark Ochre is one of the three ores found exclusively in both low-sec and null-sec ore anomalies, although it is the only of its type valuable enough to appear on this list. Dark Ochre provides a sizable (yet balanced) refined yield of Mexallon, Isogen, and Nocxium.

Although none of these three refined minerals are particularly valuable or notable, all three are core minerals used in production of a large variety of ships, ammunition, modules, and deployables.

Nocxium is used in:

  • All Tech I, Storyline, and Faction modules, ammo, and ships (including fighters)
  • Capital Ship components
  • Tech I mining crystals
  • R.A.M. and R.Db. materials
  • Certain deployables
  • Structure Services

8. Rakovene: 1.12M ISK/1000 m3

Rakovene is the Abyssal equivalent of high-sec ore Spodumain and null-sec/wormhole ore Bistot. When refined, Rakovene yields a large amount of Zydrine, with small amounts of Tritanium and Isogen. 

Similarly to Dark Ochre, none of these three refined minerals are particularly valuable or notable, but are used in production of a large variety of ships, ammunition, modules, and deployables.

Zydrine is used in:

  • All Tech I, Storyline, and Faction modules, ammo, and ships (including fighters)
  • POS Towers and their anchorable structures
  • Certain composites and reactions
  • Structure Services

7. Ytterbite: 1.20M ISK/1000 m3

Ytterbite is the first of the Rarity 64 (R64) moon ores, the rarest and most valuable of the moon compositions found in EVE: Online. However, its value tends to pale in comparison to the other R64 moons, with Xenotime being worth almost twice as much for the same volume of ore.

Ytterbite refines into the R64 material Thulium, with lesser amounts of Silicates, Titanium, and Cadmium. 

Thulium is used to produce:

  • Special Item Deactivated Key Pass
  • Capital Ship parts
  • Communications equipment

6. Ytirium: 1.64M ISK/1000 m3

We’re not sure why it’s named so, but it’s definitely not spelled like Yttrium!

Ytirium is a moderately valuable ore found in systems with very strict specifications. It’s the best source of Isogen in the galaxy, one of the seven core minerals (and one of the main bottlenecks in industrial production). In fact, Isogen is the only product it refines to!

Isogen is used for:

  • All Tech I, Storyline, and Faction modules, ammo, and ships (including fighters)
  • POS Towers and their anchorable structures
  • R.A.M. and R.Db. materials
  • Certain reaction formulas
  • Structure Services
  • Some hardwirings

5. Bezdnacine: 1.73M ISK/1000 m3

Bezdnacine is the Abyssal equivalent of high-sec ore Arkonor. Its high refined yield of Megacyte, the rarest of the seven core minerals, lends to its high value and selling price. It also contains lesser yields of Tritanium and Isogen.

Megacyte is used in:

  • All Tech I, Storyline, and Faction  modules, ammo, and ships (including fighters)
  • Interdiction Probes
  • POS Towers and their anchorable structures
  • Certain composites and reactions
  • Structure Services
  • Drugs

4. Monazite: 1.77M ISK/1000 m3

The third most valuable of the Rarity 64 moon ores, Monazite is nonetheless a tasty meal for all miners. You’d best show up early to even have a shot at mining it, as it tends to disappear quick!

Monazite refines into the R64 material Neodymium, with lesser amounts of Evaporite Deposits, Tungsten, and Chromium. 

Neodymium is used to produce:

  • Capital Ship parts and equipment
  • Communications equipment
  • Tech II command burst modules

3. Loparite: 1.83M ISK/1000 m3

The second most valuable of the four Rarity 64 moon ores, Loparite tends to be similar in value and characteristics to Monazite, and therefore similar in demand.

Loparite refines into the R64 material Promethium, with lesser amounts of Hydrocarbons, Scandium, and Platinum. 

Promethium is used to produce:

  • Capital Ship parts and equipment
  • Communications equipment

2. Mercoxit: 1.99M ISK/1000 m3

Mercoxit is the least plentiful, and consequently most valuable, of the asteroid ores. It requires special equipment to mine, the Modulated Deep Core Mining Laser and Strip Miner. Trace amounts of its refined products are used in nearly all advanced weaponry and ships in EVE, making it highly sought after for all walks of EVE industry.

Mercoxit is refined into Morphite, which is used to produce:

  • Tech II Ships and Fighters
  • Tech II Modules, including Polarized Modules
  • Tech II Ammunition
  • Implants of all grades
  • Certain deployables

1. Xenotime: 2.17M ISK/1000 m3

The clear longstanding king of valuable ores, Xenotime provides the last of the rarity 64 materials Dysprosium when refined, with lesser amounts of Atmospheric Gases, Cobalt, and Vanadium. 

Even capsuleers who don’t normally mine for income may flock to a Xenotime frack, so be sure to plan ahead and move your mining equipment in-system in advance of the frack to give you the best shot at mining this highly valuable ore.

Dysprosium is used to produce:

  • Tech II mining crystals
  • Capital ship parts
  • Communications equipment.
