With Elden Ring having some of the best weapons, and some of the best shields, this list will have you wandering around with amazing weapons in one hand, and your shield of choice in the other. Elden Ring has a huge variety of weapons, with you being able to play the game 20 times, and still, find new weapons, here's our list of the best weapons to use with a shield, and we all know nothing looks better than a mighty shield with a magnificent sword. Some of these weapons will require a few levels in different stats, this means you should stick to a weapon and level up accordingly, especially if you want some great scaling.
Is that a tree sentinel or are you just looking good?
10. Golden Halberd
The Golden Halberd will be destroying enemies.
The Golden Halberd is a weapon you can get as early as the starting area. The first boss you’ll see…The Tree Sentinel. - Does good damage, especially with scaling.
- Great range with versatile movement, and add a shield to that great defense.

Rapiers are so underappreciated.

1. Sword Of Night And Flame
My all-time favorite weapon.
The Sword of Night and Flame, a weapon that was brokenly overpowered on day one, with the possibility of killing some bosses in one hit. After the nerf the weapon is still great, as the requirements are 12 strength/dex and 24 faith/intelligence. The weapon itself doesn’t do a lot of damage but its true damage is with its weapon arts. As it can Kamehameha enemies and burn them to a crisp.
Why The Sword of Night and Flame is great with a shield:
- With the ash of war “no skill” on your shield, you can block massive damage and do massive damage with the weapon art.
- Great guard counter damage.
Where to get the Sword of Night and Flame:
- Go to Caria Manor.
- From the Manor lower level Grace go to the walkway.
- Go straight across the first one, turn left, and then right.
- From the third walkway, you will see a roof you can jump to.
- Jump down and head towards the hole in the roof.
- Go down the ladder and inside a chest, you will find this legendary weapon
