A group of highschool seniors were on a camping trip, but they just so happened to take a wrong turn and run into three demons. They try to escape, and while some of them do, not all of them are that lucky. The students who are safe aren’t safe forever, and circumstances lead to the survivors learning how to use magic so they can fight back against the demons. The many plots in this survival horror comic and its sexy, carnivorous demons make it a thrilling adventure.
8. Killing Demons
Joshua Brand was born with a sixth sense that allows him to sense demons and see through their shape-shifting abilities. He’s taken it upon himself to eliminate as many of these man-eating meaneces as possible, and in fact has dedicated his life to doing so. Joshua may be humanity’s last hope, but even that comes at a great cost. Readers have praised this comic’s dark atmosphere and gory artwork.
7. Killer of Demons
Dave Sloan works as a junior account executive at an advertising agency, but because of an angel named Uriel he also has a job slaying demons. Now Dave sees these demons that he’s got to kill everywhere, and though he’s not really sure if they’re real or not, he kills them anyway. However, someone’s not happy about this and that’s Satan. This comic has received compliments for its fun, unique art and storyline that’s left many wanting more.
6. Demonslayer
After learning that demons are to blame for the death of his wife and daughter, Danila wants revenge. However, it is not until he signs a contract with the Council of Equilibrium that he gains the power to successfully fight back. With his partner Sneak, a cynical demon, he kills demons using his living tatoos made from Satan’s blood and works hard to prevent them from invading. From a Russian publisher, this comic manages to reflect Russian culture while telling a captivating story.
5. S.H.O.O.T. First
The Secular Humanist Occult Obliteration Taskforce, a group made entirely of atheists, is dedicated to defending humanity from angels, demons, and the like. These otherworldly creatures gain strength from the faith of humans, so before they can cause total havoc, the atheists step in to take care of them. This witty, diverse team of nonbelievers are the last line of defense preventing the end of the world. Fans enjoy this series for its entertaining dialogue, varied characters, and great action.
4. Death Vigil
The Grim Reaper, Bernadette who goes by Bernie, is recruiting members for her task force to fight against necromancers and Lovecraftian horrors. The members of her group, the Death Vigil, are all those who have died and have been given a second chance at life in exchange for protecting humanity. Each member of the Vigil is gifted with a tool or an object that gives them a special power to help them in their fight against the Primordial Enemy. Bernie is one of this comic’s highlights for her fun personality, but the action and the plot are definitely noteworthy as well.
3. Hellblazer
Set in a modern fantasy world where magic and the supernatural are common, John Constantine works as a sort of demon defeating confidence man and occult detective. In his misadventures, John’s close ones are often endangered by demons, which leads to all sorts of conflicts. The different writers who have tackled this series have taken the time to explore religious themes, ethical questions, and John’s relationships with others.
2. Hellboy
Hellboy is a half demon summoned from Hell. He was found as a baby by the Allied Forces, and was raised as a normal boy by Professor Trevor Bruttenholm, a scientist present when he was found. As an adult, Hellboy works as a paranormal investigator for the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense as well against dark forces, for example Nazis and witches. Though high on action, this series does delve into deeper topics at times, which makes it a great read for any and all ages.
