Throughout Death Stranding the player can find quite a few pieces of gear to make traversing the terrain easier. The most obvious of these are the Exo-Skeletons, which Sam can equip for different bonuses. There are three present in the game, and here we will be detailing their different perks and how to obtain all of them.

3. Speed Skeleton

I think a car would've been more practical, but hey, what do I know? I sit inside all day playing games.

The Speed Skeleton is exactly what you’d expect it to be, it gives Sam a speed boost on command. He can also jump further while sprinting, although this isn’t a very useful perk on anything but flat terrain. The Speed Skeleton is great for trips with light loads, even terrain, and favorable weather.

Speed Skeleton Stats

  • At Level 1 the Speed Skeleton weighs 6kg, which can go down to 2kg at Level 3
  • Can boost speed
  • Can increase jump distance while sprinting
  • Boosting will accelerate battery drainage, an effect that scales down as the skeleton is leveled up

What Makes The Speed Skeleton Great

  • It speeds up the few deliveries that just require you to get from point A to point B
  • Its leg slots free up backpack space
  • It allows Sam to jump over some obstacles

2. Power Skeleton

The Power Skeleton gets plenty useful when tasked with delivering heavy cargo. The Power Skeleton dramatically increases carrying capacity by bearing some of the cargo’s weight. This also means Sam is less likely to fall from cargo weight alone, which is pretty useful for anyone who has trouble learning the balancing mechanics.

Power Skeleton Stats

  • At Level 1 the Power Skeleton adds 120kg to Sam’s carrying capacity
  • At Level 2 the Power Skeleton adds 150kg to Sam’s carrying capacity
  • At Level 3 the Power Skeleton adds 180kg to Sam’s carrying capacity
  • The Level 1 Power Skeleton weighs 10kg, which goes down to 6kg at Level 3

What Makes The Power Skeleton Great

  • Can help some players who struggle with balancing heavier cargo
  • Increases carrying capacity
  • The first skeleton the player receives

1. All-Terrain Skeleton

There's no way he's being paid enough for this.

Later in the game the player receives the blueprint for the All-Terrain Skeleton. This exo-skeleton becomes pretty essential for areas experiencing snow or heavy rain. It reduces the rate at which Sam will be worn out while crossing difficult terrain and helps his balance. As a result it helps the player deliver their cargo undamaged.

All-Terrain Skeleton Stats

  • Reduces the speed at which the Endurance Gauge drains by half
  • Increases carrying capacity
  • Increases stability

What Makes The All-Terrain Skeleton Great

  • An all around great option for later game deliveries
  • Adds to carrying capacity and stability
