One of the most criminally underrated guns in CS:GO, the MP9 is a low-cost yet high-impact submachine gun, purchasable only on the CT side.
With a recent resurgence in the pro scene, grab yourself a stunning MP9 skin to let others know you’re ahead of the meta.

15. Food Chain ($1.32 - $8.69)
The MP9 Food Chain, and what it will look like if inspected in-game.
Starting the list with a cartoonishly colorful yet deadly skin.
What better way to show your opponents who’s at the top of the food chain, than with the MP9 Food Chain? Notice how the order of the food chain goes from front to back, with you ultimately behind the weapon, making you the apex predator.
The MP9 Food Chain was first introduced in May 2021 as part of the Snake Bite Collection, created by designer chipAs. The quality of the skin is “Classified” and can be purchased at a range of $1.32 - $8.69.
The lowest grade I’ve ever gotten on an exam was around 3.2%, coincidentally the same drop rate as the Food Chain.

14. Hydra ($3.19 - $11.70)
The MP9 Hydra and what it looks like if you inspect it within the in-game inventory.
Not to be confused with the Nazi terrorist group from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, next on the list is a skin perfect for players who prefer stealth and striking when the time is right. The skin features the Greek and Roman mythological beast: The Hydra of Lerna.
The MP9 Hydra was first introduced in October 2019 as part of the CS20 collection, created by designer Frostbite. This skin can be found in its respective collection case and is purchasable at a range of $3.19 - $11.70.
How likely do you think you’d survive if you went face-to-face against a real Hydra?
Pretty low right?
Just like the drop rate for this “Classified” skin at 3.2%.

13. Hot Rod ($26.54 - $30.02)
The MP9 Hot Rod and what it looks like if you inspect it within the in-game inventory.
Introducing the most expensive skin on our list thus far. The MP9 Hot Rod sports a flashy coating that’ll pair perfectly with your flashy gameplay.
Similar to its automotive counterpart, the Hot Rod is optimized for speed and performance (note that the skin doesn’t actually offer any in-game advantages).
The MP9 Hot Rod was first introduced in November 2013 as part of the Mirage collection. The Hot Rod can be found in a number of Major souvenir collections. The quality of the skin is “Mil-Spec Grade” and can be purchased at a range of $25.54 - $30.02. The reason the price range for the Hot Rod is so tight is because it is only available in Factory New and Minimal Wear conditions.
Similar to the percentage of kids today who have no idea what a Hot Rod is, the drop rate of the MP9 Hot Rod is 79.92%. Giving it a rarity of “Mil-Spec Grade”.

12. Hypnotic ($7.49 - $8.34)
The MP9 Hypnotic and what it will look like when inspected in-game.
*the skin in this picture is a stat-trak version, the kill counter is not included in the base version of the skin
I must buy this skin… I must buy this skin… I must buy this skin…
Woah, sorry, don’t know what came over me there.
For some odd reason, you’re awfully drawn to this skin… This skin is akin to a double-edged sword. Its hypnotic pattern will confuse your opponents, but be careful not to admire your own skin too much or under its spell, you too shall fall.
Similar to the Hot Rod, the MP9 Hypnotic was introduced in November of 2013 as part of the Arms Deal 2 Collection. This skin can be found in the CS:GO Weapon Case 2 and can be purchased at a range of $7.49 - $8.34. Again, similar to the Hot Rod, this skin is only available in Factory New and Minimal Wear conditions.
Like the chance that a street hypnotist is legit, the drop rate for this skin is a low 15.98%. Making the rarity “Restricted”.

11. Music Box ($4.59 - $5.53)
The MP9 Music Box.
Imagine your theme song slowly rising in volume as you approach your enemies. They realize their imminent demise as you descend upon them (no actual in-game feature is given, you’d need to purchase a music kit for that).
The design for this skin is a wooden floral pattern, much like one an actual music box might have.
The Music Box was introduced in September of 2021, as part of the Mirage collection. This skin can be found in Major Souvenir Packages from Stockholm 2021 and onwards. Music Box can be purchased for between $4.59 and $5.53.
The Music Box has a high rate of 79.92%, due to its “Mil-Spec Grade” rarity.

10. Setting Sun ($1.79 - $5.08)
The MP9 Setting Sun. Image courtesy of OPSKINS.
You like to see it go up, but you LOVE to watch it go down. Get your head out of the gutter. We’re talking about the MP9 Setting Sun.
Oddly enough, not a single sun is featured on this skin’s design. In fact, all the symbols warn of nuclear bombs, possibly eluding to how the sun never shines the same in areas affected by nuclear destruction.
The Setting Sun was first introduced in August 2014. It was released as a part of the Cache collection. It can be obtained as part of any Souvenir Cache package or purchased separately for $1.79 - $5.08.
Almost as common as you’ll find the sun shining in the morning, the drop rate for this “Mil-Spec Grade” skin is 79.92%.

9. Modest Threat ($0.08 - $0.24)
The MP9 Modest Threat.
Though modest in price, the allure of this skin is definitely a threat. It is, in my opinion, the best bang for your buck out of all the MP9 skins.
Sporting a futuristic metal plate finish, this skin is for those who look forward to the day CS:GO implements double jumping (never).
Modest Threat was first introduced in December of 2018, along with the release of CS:GO’s Battle Royale game mode, Danger Zone. It was released as part of the Danger Zone Collection and designed by nozza. The Modest Threat can be obtained from the Danger Zone Case. You can also purchase it for $0.08 - $0.24.
Along with its low price, it has a high drop chance of 79.92% from its “Mil-Spec Grade” rating, making this skin easily accessible.

8. Mount Fuji ($0.76 - $5.83)
The MP9 Mount Fuji, and what it looks like if you inspect it within the in-game inventory.
Mount Fuji is my personal favorite skin on this list.
The mountain reminds us what it means to be at the peak. The beautiful pink tint adds an element of finesse. A must-have for any fan of oriental art.
The MP9 Mount Fuji was released in September of 2021. It was released as part of the Operation Riptide Collection and designed by Khan. It can be obtained by opening the Operation Riptide case or purchased for $0.76 - $5.83.
You'd be better off buying the skin than waiting for a drop with a chance of 15.98% due to its “Restricted” grade.

7. Capillary ($0.13 - $0.46)
The MP9 Capillary.
For doctors, nurses, or lovers of anatomy in general. Not for the faint of heart as the Capillary features a translucent pattern of intertwining veins. The design for the magazine is contrasted against the rest of the skin, painted a pinkish red. Perhaps to symbolize how the magazine and its bullets are like a heart pumping blood and life into the MP9.
The Capillary was first introduced in August 2018. It was released as part of the Horizon Collection and created by designer M03H. The Capillary can be obtained by opening the Horizon Case container or purchased for $0.13 - $0.46.
With its low price reflecting its rarity of “Mil-Spec Grade”, the Capillary has a drop rate of 79.92%.

6. Pandora’s Box ($88.52 - $182.35)
The MP9 Pandora's Box, and what it will look like when inspected in-game, against a beautiful backdrop.
Emulate the original Pandora and unleash evil and misery against your opponents using Pandora’s Box.
Oddly enough, although named after a Greek myth of tragedy, the skin itself features several round creatures with pained expressions that I can’t help but find adorable. You can imagine those same expressions on your opponents’ faces after you hit them with an F1 race car peek.
The MP9 Pandora’s Box was first introduced in May 2015. It was released as part of the Gods and Monsters Collection. It is only available for $88.52-$182.35 and cannot be obtained by opening any cases.
Pandora’s Box’s high drop rate of 79.92% (Mil-Spec Grade) makes up for the fact it can’t be found in any container.

5. Bulldozer ($24.33 - $377.00)
The MP9 Bulldozer, and what it will look like when inspected in-game.
For the minimalists who still crave attention. The Bulldozer is painted a blindingly bright yellow, sending a warning to your enemies. Not for players who like to abuse spots that blend you into the background. Although an argument could be made, you get a free flashbang every time you whip this bad boy out.
The Bulldozer was first introduced in August 2013, making it the oldest skin on this list. It was released as part of the Assault Collection. Similar to the previous entry on this list, Pandora’s Box, this skin also cannot be obtained by opening any containers. It can, however, be purchased for $24.33 - $377.00.
The drop rate for the Bulldozer is not terribly low due to its rarity of “Restricted”, sitting at 15.98%

4. Rose Iron ($4.75 - $6.28)
The MP9 Rose Iron, and what it will look like when inspected in-game.
With your W key permanently glued down, you're already a thorn in your opponents' sides, so you might as well equip a skin that complements your playstyle.
Another personal favorite of mine, the art of this skin is simply beautiful. Owning this skin would definitely increase my MP9 purchase frequency 10 fold.
The MP9 Rose Iron was first introduced to the game in December 2013. Released as part of the Winter Offensive Collection, this skin designed by Jason can be obtained by opening a Winter Offensive Weapon Case or by purchase for $4.75 - $6.28.
Similar to the Bulldozer, this skin is rated “Restricted” meaning it has an identical drop rate of 15.98%.

3. Airlock ($1.53 - $8.45)
The MP9 Airlock.
Yet another futuristic design, albeit drastically more detailed than the Modest Threat (#9). The best feature of this skin is the transparent section as if you are peering at the innermost workings of the gun itself.
The MP9 Airlock was first introduced to CS:GO in August 2016. Designed by Phrexeus, this skin was released as part of the Gamma 2 Collection. You can obtain this skin by either opening a Gamma 2 Case or purchasing it for $1.53 - $8.45. The rarity of the Airlock is “Classified” giving it a low drop chance of 3.2%.

2. Wild Lily ($1,387.77 - $1,736.35)
The MP9 Pandora's Box, and what it will look like when inspected in-game.
This one is for the four fans of botany that also play CS:GO, or if you enjoy owning cool skins in general. The floral designs are so well done that you might catch yourself trying to give your monitor a sniff. So get this skin at your own risk; that’ll be a tough one to explain to your parents.
This skin is by far the most expensive on the list due to its rarity. In fact, at the time I’m writing this, there are a total of 10 available for purchase on the Steam Market.
The MP9 Wild Lily was released in November 2019. Released as part of the St. Marc Collection, it cannot be obtained by opening any container. Its drop rate as a “Classified” weapon is also quite low at 3.2%.
Unfortunately, if you want to get your hands on the Wild Lily, be prepared to sell your left kidney or take out a mortgage on your house. Due to its scarcity, the price of a Wild Lily ranges from a steep $1,387.77 - $1,736.35.

1. Starlight Protector ($3.63 - $42.04)
The MP9 Starlight Protector.
Saving the best for last, we are rounding out the list with the only Covert grade MP9 skin available on the market.
Harness the powers of the unicorn that graces the body of this skin, because there’s nothing more tilting than dying to somebody and then seeing something as goofy as a unicorn.
The Starlight Protector was first introduced in January of 2022, making this the youngest skin on our list. Created by designer TheDanidem, this skin was released as part of the Dreams & Nightmares Collection. It can be obtained by opening a Dreams & Nightmares case or by purchasing it for a price of $3.63 - $42.04.
Living up to its rarity grade, the chances you get this skin via a drop is about the same as seeing a unicorn IRL, a shockingly low 0.64%.
