1. Sawed-off Shotgun
Unlocked after the mission “Entered, Pursued by a Memory” (Chapter 1).
Stats
- Damage: 2.8 out of 4
- Range: 1.3 out of 4
- Fire Rate: 2.3 out of 4
- Reload: 2 out of 4
- Ammo Capacity: 2
- Price: $85
Overview
One good part about the sawed-off shotgun is that you get it in Chapter 1 for free. It’s also the only shotguns you can dual wield (shoot two at a time). On the flip side, the sawed-off doesn’t compare to the other shotguns, with its terrible long-range accuracy, range of fire, and reload speed
How to get the Sawed-off Shotgun:
2. Double-barreled Shotgun
Unlocked at the gunsmith after the mission “Paying a Social Call” (Chapter 2).
Stats
- Damage: 2.5 out of 4
- Range: 1.5 out of 4
- Fire Rate: 2.5 out of 4
- Reload: 2 out of 4
- Ammo Capacity: 2
- Price: $95
Overview
The double barrel shotgun is a good-to-average shotgun since the damage, fire rate, and price are relatively good. It’s your go-to gun for shooting in tight spaces, like indoors. What you need to worry about is its low range and ammo capacity, especially when facing big crowds.
How to get the Double-barreled Shotgun:
3. Pump-Action Shotgun
Unlocked at the gunsmith after you complete “Pouring Forth Oil” (Chapter 2).
Stats
- Damage: 2.5 out of 4
- Range: 1.5 out of 4
- Fire Rate: 2 out of 4
- Reload: 2.5 out of 4
- Ammo Capacity: 5
- Price: $148
Overview
The pump-action shotgun is a classic, well-rounded shotgun. With its high stopping power, fast reloading, and decent accuracy; you use it for enemies up close. Do remember that it does have a moderate fire rate since you have to continuously rack, as it is a pump shotgun. Actually, the pumping between shots is weirdly satisfying and is still fun to use.
How to get it
4. Repeating Shotgun
Unlocked at the gunsmith after completing “Visiting Hours” (Chapter 6).
Stats
- Damage: 2.5 out of 4
- Range: 1.5 out of 4
- Fire Rate: 2 out of 4
- Reload: 2.5 out of 4
- Ammo Capacity: 6
- Price: $185
Overview
This bad boy is a high-capacity lever-action that is perfect for hunting. The repeating shotgun is a better alternative to the pump-action since they have equal stats, except for the repeating’s higher ammo capacity. Even still, it takes a while to “repeat” shots and the range isn’t great.

5. Semi-Auto Shotgun
Unlocked at the gunsmith after you complete “A Fine Night of Debauchery” (Chapter 4).
Stats
- Damage: 2.2 out of 4
- Range: 1.5 out of 4
- Fire Rate: 2.3 out of 4
- Reload: 2.5 out of 4
- Ammo Capacity: 5
- Price: $225
Overview
Considered one of the best shotguns in the game because of its ease of use, high ammo capacity, and quick reload, the Semi-Auto Shotgun is one of my favorites to use during the story mode and online. The downside is that it doesn’t have the best range; even I hate to admit.

6. Rare Shotgun
The Rare Shotgun is unlocked after you kill The Hermit and find it next to his body in Roanoke Ridge.
Stats
- Damage: 3.5 out of 4
- Range: 1.3 out of 4
- Fire Rate: 2.5 out of 4
- Reload: 1.1 out of 4
- Ammo Capacity: 2
- Price: $0
Overview
The Rare Shotgun is a beautifully embellished Double Barreled shotgun with a lot better damage than the original, but other than that, they are mostly similar. Like the regular double barrel, reloading is slow and the range is low.
