First introduced in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the deer is a villager species in the Animal Crossing series. Similar to the Kangaroos, the deer have unique differences in traits between genders. Male deer have a pair of antlers atop their heads while female deer do not, except for Shino. So far, there are six male and six female deer, giving players a total of twelve deer villagers to choose from.

Chelsea is an exclusive villager amongst five others who appear in the Sanrio Collaboration Series. Her design and interior are based on the Sanrio character My Melody. For a while, she was only available to European and Japanese players before the Sanrio collab made its way to the U.S. in 2021. Chelsea and the other Sanrio villagers can only be obtained through scanning their amiibo cards and can't be traded among players. Although the Sanrio amiibo cards aren't as big as when the collab first dropped, Chelsea may still appeal to players who seek rare villagers and love cute aesthetics.
