9. The Walking Dead: Season 1
Debut trailer for The Walking Dead.
Here, you will play as Lee Everett. He was a convicted criminal, but the post-apocalyptic and zombie-ridden world has offered him a second chance. It’s his goal to protect the orphan, Clementine.
The Walking Dead introduces a “tailored” gameplay, where the choices you make determine the outcome of the game. Your outcomes might vary vastly from someone else who plays it. This is especially evident in situations where you have to choose whose life to save, if any.
Guess what else ups the ante? You have time limits on choices too, sometimes.
Interested in some zombie-adventure-horror?
This game has won over 90 Game of the Year awards. It also received a 76% approval rating here on GamersDecide. That’s somewhere between “amazing” and “epic.”

8. Nelson Tethers Puzzle Agent 2
Join Agent Tethers as he goes back to Scoggins to uncover the mysterious death of Issac Davner.
Puzzle Agent 2 picks up with the unresolved Scoggins case that the FBI appears to be covering up. Nelson Tethers will not stand for this, so he goes on his own to figure things out.
Unlike other games from Telltale, Puzzle Agent 2 involves not just dialog, but also puzzles that help you complete the game. The solutions to the puzzle can help you piece together the mystery, assuming you solved the puzzles correctly.
What has got him freaked out? Play to discover the answer.
This game isn’t renowned for its graphics, but it combines mystery, adventure, and puzzles all into one go for an excellent playthrough.

7. Sam and Max (All Seasons)
Season Three trailer.
I know, I’m throwing three whole “games” at you here. But Sam and Max seasons shouldn’t be split up. You’ll get addicted to them.
In fact, the only reason why they’re ranked #7 is that there is no new news on future seasons of Sam and Max. Even still, they are cooky and cartoony, and worth a play. They’re even ranked among the video games that deserve movies. (#12)
And here we have the delightful duo.
Telltale took on Sam and Max after LucasArts cancelled it. In fact, it was created by some of the people who worked on Sam and Max: Freelance Police, who left LucasArts after the project was dropped. The games are lovingly crafted and worth your time.

6. The Walking Dead: Michonne
Telltale’s most recent announcement is The Walking Dead: Michonne. It will start the iconic character from the series.
The story will trace her time between comic book issues #126 and #139. You will see her coping with her past, her losses, and her regrets.
The game will release in the Fall of 2015.

Telltale is using Michonne to bridge the gap between the comics and the Telltale Walking Dead series. Michonne will be a mini-series of three episodes, but not one to miss.

5. Game of Thrones Season 1
Dive into the world of Game of Thrones
Telltale’s Game of Thrones is based off of the world that George R.R. Martin and HBO have woven together. It takes place during Seasons 3-5 of the TV show.
You play as five different members of House Forrester, a noble house from the Wolfswood north of Westeros. As the trailer shows, they have always been noble to the Starks.
While George R.R. Martin and HBO are not directly involved with Telltale’s game, the game is still canonically correct with the world.
So jump in and see familiar characters—assuming you’ve seen or read Game of Thrones. If you haven’t, don’t worry, Telltale gives you a game that can be navigated without any prior knowledge of the world.
Does she ever smile?
The sheer amount of playable characters is vast, even for Telltale games. But the amount of characters you can play reflects the large scope of the world. Additionally, choices made by you as one character will affect the other characters.
This just adds to the replay value!

4. The Walking Dead: Season 2
Continuing where Season 1 left off…
Season 2 picks up where Season 1 left off. You’re still stripped of your weapons and “learned skills” but you still have choice.
This game, like the season before it, are completely stand-alone from The Walking Dead comics (which Telltale sees as canon over the TV series). There are crossovers, but the story is its own.

What’s super awesome about Season 2, is that you’re playing as a girl. Given the current rioting for more female playable characters among just about every fanbase, The Walking Dead: Season 2 delivers. She’s not any less important or able to do things because she’s a girl.
It’s post-apocalyptic. The playing field is leveled anyway.

3. The Wolf Among Us
An award-winning game based off of award-winning comics.
Make no mistake, The Wolf Among Us is not for kids, as it is based off of a mature comic. The game is gritty, violent, bloody, and yet still sexy at times. That said, if you’re old enough, you’ll enjoy it if the dark comic feel is one you’re drawn to.
You play as Bigby Wolf, who is the sheriff of Fabletown. It helps that he has extra-human senses and the ability to turn into a big bad wolf. Through his eyes, you will interact with his part of New York City.
This game is a stand-alone, separate from anything else Telltale has put out, as well as relatively separate from Fables. The Wolf Among Us is set up to take place before the events in Fables. However, if you have read the comic book, you’ll see some familiar characters and places.
There are additional cameos and revisionings of characters like Beauty and the Beast and Ichabod Crane. Plus there’s Colin Pig and the Woodsman—characters who have more of a personal relationship to Bigby. The Wolf Among Us is a great trip into a fantastical realm and ranked the #1 detective video game to play in 2015.
Pretty menacing when he wants to be.
This is a game that tests your morals and emotions. Like other games from Telltale, it puts you in control of the choices and gives a new meaning to “role-playing.”

2. Tales From the Borderlands
Interact with Pandora like never-before with choice-based gameplay.
You play as Rhys and Fiona—two people who are thrown together on an adventure after a shady deal goes south. Tales From the Borderlands takes place on Pandora after the events of Borderlands 2. You will see other characters from Borderlands, but you have to play Tales to find out just exactly who.
Tales From the Borderlands allows a new way to interact with the elements of Pandora and the Borderlands through Telltale’s classic choice-based gameplay. Instead of shooting things, you’re interacting and guiding the story. Even Gearbox thinks this is a good idea.
This game will pull humor from the Borderlands universe, as well as some of its darker elements. Tales really does compliment the other Borderlands titles.
That said, you will certainly get more of a complete story if you have played Borderlands and Borderlands 2.
Recognize this guy?
Gearbox is very excited that Telltale is expanding upon the vast and rich world of Borderlands in more ways than standing and listening to people talk to you, or shooting them in the face. So while Gearbox focuses on making a really good FPSs, Telltale can focus on making an adventure game based on choices.

1. Minecraft: Story Mode
Five-part adventure series that will take you all over the World of Minecraft.
You are Jesse. You and your friends are on a mission to find the Order of the Stone. You all have just found out something terribly wrong and finding the Order is the only way to save the world.
Unlike regular Minecraft, there won’t necessarily be crafting and exploration. However, those elements will be incorporated into Minecraft: Story Mode.
If you haven’t played Minecraft, don’t worry, Minecraft: Story Mode can be enjoyed without ever once picking up a game of Minecraft itself. You don’t even have to own Minecraft. It might help you a little bit if you know what Minecraft is about, but that’s not a necessity.
Additionally, the game has a killer list of voice actors and a fantastic story-setup.

Telltale has worked closely with Mojang to ensure that Story Mode does not deviate too much from the feel of Minecraft. You’ll go everywhere from the Nether, to the Farlands, to the End, and beyond crafting your own story through your choices.
