10. The Long Delay...
Tortollans are bored with waiting so long for new content!
Elaboration of the problem:
In Shadowlands expansion, we presented a long time of a game without new content. The 9.1 Patch only arrived 218 days after the expansion's release, generating many memes about the delay. The dev team complained about the lousy time happening worldwide, but many problems occurred because of their lack of organization.
Solution:
Shadowlands was an expansion filled with a lack of content and full of broken promises. All the problems could be solved if they had more attention to the organization of development and only released the expansion when it would finally be done.
9. The Balance in Covenants.
The Four Guardians of Shadowlands before Sire Denathrius betray them.
Elaboration of the problem:
The Covenants were the answer for “Fun or Function?”. In the announcement of Shadowlands, was shown some details about how we would help the allies in the reign of the dead. But what we didn’t know was that we, unfortunately, needed to sacrifice fun to have a considerable function soloing or in a group.
Solution:
We all know that sometimes the best covenant doesn’t fit beautifully with the class spec you choose to play! Giving more options and bettering what each covenant can do for each class spec needs to be considered.
8. Lack of PVP!
Horde and Alliance having a friendly battle. I'm sure they're not trying to kill each other!
Elaboration of the problem:
It is not a surprise that the PVP is something almost dead in Shadowlands. PVP players blame Blizzard for not giving them good content, for not giving a fun change for the specs in PVP, and for not making something new since Ashran from Warlords of Draenor.
Solution:
Here, Blizzard forgot to listen to what the community says about how good and impactful the PVP is for the game, especially when not having something new for a long time in PVE mode.
7. The Disconnected Zones.
The map is beautiful but why everything is so distant?
Elaboration of the problem:
The reigns of the dead were an excellent choice for a territory to explore, giving different options of zones to players and each one having its own story. But it is terrible when talking about the mobility that only offers you one chance to travel between the lands!
Solution:
In this case, Blizzard should think better about how the development of the areas would or wouldn’t be comfortable for the players, the lands being disconnected and needing a long time to travel from one to another is something that shouldn’t be used, or if used, only in the Maw.
6. Missing Cinematics In-Game.
The Winter Queen guiding the many Ardenweald creatures to a prosperous future!
Elaboration of the problem:
If there’s something I miss from Legion is the impactful cinematics in-game, explaining how the things are happening and giving more emotion to the game. In Shadowlands, we made the leveling and presenting some crucial facts without them being impactful, like when you finish the Night Fae storyline.
Solution:
A good point in favor of Battle for Azeroth was the well-done cinematic scenes and the Warbringers showing the side of each main character like Jaina Proudmore’s song. Shadowlands missed some impact in the story when only putting some NPC to interact instead of an excellent short cinematic.
5. Torghast Issues.
This picture was taken by a prisoner in Torghast!
Elaboration of the problem:
A new Challenge System was added in Shadowlands Torghast, The Tower of The Damned. The players didn’t count how repeatable and tiring this new place would be, especially when the lore makes you go back again and again as if you were in hell paying your penitence. It is not only tiring but also almost impossible for some new players and class specs to do it alone, turning the game even not alt-friendly.
Solution:
Torghast has a good point for being something new in the game, but as a repeatable challenge, we already have Mythic+. This challenge system should be something more memorable, not so easy for the pros but also not so hard for the casuals!
4. Time-gating.
Chromie should do something about this excess of time-gating!
Elaboration of the problem:
One of the most famous problems in Shadowlands is the excess of Time-gating in all the expansion! You will have time-gating in covenant quests, raid rooms, archives, and more. The major fault is the lack of content that the developers provided for the expansion. Even Torghast suffered from this problem.
Solution:
The best way to solve this problem was truly invest more in the expansion, more quests, and lore to fill the giant hole the game was becoming.
3. Mission Tables… they were back but… why?
A mission table full of dust for never be used!
Elaboration of the problem:
This system that first appeared in Warlords of Draenor was back in Shadowlands, but now you will have to command the armies of your Covenant! What we all received disappointed us and was forgotten by most players, a total waste in the end. Nothing changed in the Mission Table, and it got worse. The time for finishing each mission got longer, and the rewards weren’t something worth to wait.
Solution:
The Mission Tables should have more participation in the game's storyline because you are commanding the forces against Zovaal, The Jailer. Want to keep it for a long time? Good! But at least give the players something valuable to spend time on!
2. Zovaal… who?
His design is great but it doesn't hide his lack of background!
Elaboration of the problem:
Let’s talk about our “great” villain, The Jailer! Everything was part of the Jailer’s plan, Arthas becoming the Lich King, Sylvannas Windrunner becoming a Banshee, and saying everything was part of his plan! If you search for a word to describe this villain, “generic” would fit perfectly! You can’t have any expectations if no background was shown about the villain. At least, you will not be disappointed after defeating him and discovering his “benevolent” plan to defeat “something worse that is coming.”
Solution:
A better introduction would be great and not put Sylvannas as more important than him for the whole expansion, but we can talk about the Banshee Queen later. Zovaal is so forgettable that even considering Sir Denathrius being the main villain would be a better choice!
1.- Loot is almost impossible!
A common group after cleaning the raid and not getting anything!
Elaboration of the problem:
Every MMORPG's premise is to be fun and challenging, but what happens if the challenge becomes almost impossible? The players complain about Blizzard making the drop rate in Raids or Mythic+ so low and exhaustive, making you go to the same Raid many times to get a piece of the armor.
Solution:
I am not talking here to Blizzard easily to give everything without people trying, but they need to separate an enjoyable challenge from a prison. Players need to be rewarded for their effort. We need to be recognized for what we do, for the time we spend learning the mechanic, killing the boss, and completing the instance. Doing a fair drop rate is how to make the game better for everyone!
