Warframe Best Hounds – Which to Choose

We’ve always wanted our pet companions to stay with us until the end of our time, and now we can. These companions will rip, tear, melt, blast, and shock mobs like the good boys they are, and with the bonus of near indestructibility. In this article find out which hound suites your playstyle.

Hounds are the robotic companions of the Sisters of Paravos, currently, there are 3 types of hound models. The hounds are made of 4 different components, namely: Model, Core, Bracket, and Stabilizer; with each component having 3 different parts, therefore, providing 81 possible hound combinations.

  • The Model acts as the hound’s head and it comes with a particular precept mod and weapon.
  • The Core acts as the hound’s torso, it determines the base stats of the hound.
  • The Bracket acts as the hound’s legs, it modifies the base stats of the hound and comes with a particular precept mod.
  • The Stabilizer acts as the hound’s tail, it determines the mod polarity of the hound and comes with a particular precept mod.

Component parts are randomized upon the creation of the Sister and its blueprints are dropped upon defeating her. Players can trade component blueprints should they prefer another type of component. Additionally, the weapon and precept mods that come with the component can be used on other hounds.

Bhaira model

Bhaira comes with the Lacerten weapon, which deals 50% impact and 50% slash, and the Null Audit mod. This makes Bhaira a good companion when fighting against the Corpus faction as it can effectively combat corpus crewmen, although not in similar effect when against its robotic counterparts. Its Null Audit precept mod is an excellent add-on to the hound as it can steal the aura of an eximus unit, providing some buffs to the player.

What is great about the Bhaira Model

  • It deals impact and slash, effective against Corpus units.
  • The Null Audit transfers the aura of an enemy eximus unit to itself for 60 seconds.

Choose Bhaira

  • When fighting against Corpus since impact and slash is effective against shield and flesh, respectively.
  • To a lesser degree when fighting against Infested since slash damage is effective against infested, infested flesh, and fossilized.

Hec

Hec model

Hec comes with the Akaten weapon, which deals 50% slash and 50% puncture, and the Equilibrium Audit mod. The puncture damage is great when fighting against the Grineer as all of the faction’s units have a form of armor. Slash also deals good damage to cloned flesh; however, the damage is mitigated due to the presence of armor. The Equilibrium Audit is a good source of crowd control as it deals blast damage and knockdowns enemies.

What is great about the Hec Model:

  • It deals slash and puncture, effective against Infested and Grineer.
  • The Equilibrium Audit emits shockwaves that knockdowns enemies and damages them.

Choose Hec:

  • When fighting against Grineer since puncture and slash is effective against armor and cloned flesh, respectively.
  • To a lesser degree when fighting against Infested since slash damage is effective against infested, infested flesh, and fossilized.

Dorma

Dorma Model

Dorma comes with the Batoten weapon, which deals 50% impact and 50% puncture, and the Repo Audit mod. The impact and puncture damage makes the Dorma arguably making it the best in combating a wider variety of units from different factions. Since it can deal decent damage to most of Corpus and Grineer basic units, this means that the Dorma is best used on the Corrupted. Its Repo Audit precept mod does a disarm within 30 meters with a ~20 second cooldown.

What is great about the Dorma Model:

  • It deals impact and puncture, effective against Grineer, Corpus, and, to a lesser extent, Corrupted.
  • The Repo Audit emits a magnetic pulse that disarms enemies within 30 meters.

Choose Dorma:

  • When fighting against Grineer since puncture is effective against armored units.
  • When fighting against Corpus since impact is effective against shielded units.
  • When fighting against Corrupted since the puncture and impact is effective against armored and shielded units, respectively.
