Sylvannas protected her kind before getting killed by the Scourge Leader.
Sylvannas died a long time ago when World of Warcraft wasn’t even released. She once lived as the Silvermoon’s Ranger-General before Arthas invaded Quel’Thalas and killed her in the game “Warcraft: III”. These are the 10 things you need to know about Sylvannas.
1. First appearance.
We bet Sylvanas is a better archer than Robin Hood, Katniss Everdeen, and Hawkeye.
We first met Sylvanas in the game “Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos” as a high-elf ranger. She was protecting Quel’Thalas from Arthas’ invasion to reach the Sunwell.
2. The beginning of betrayals.
Things get deadly serious when you are betrayed.
Sylvanas is known for not trusting others. This is because as she fought the Scourge’s invasion, Dar’Khan Drathir betrayed his entire race letting Arthas and his army enter their way to the Sunwell. Sylvanas fought againts Arthas to defend her kind.
3. Her punishment was more than death.
The pain of getting your soul ripped must be undescribable.
Arthas’ wrath not only killed her but punished her by turning Sylvanas into a banshee ripping her soul with the sword Frostmourne. She was imprisoned to be a slave of the Scourge’s army as a spectral form empowered by hate.
4. Memories are never forgotten.
Arthas is easy to remember because he is stunningly good-looking.
Sylvanas remembers everything even after her death. She remembers her sisters and her time as a ranger in Silvermoon. But the event she remembers the most is the moment where she failed to protect her people and the face of her killer, Arthas Menethil. She was vowed to take her revenge and make him suffer just like he did to her.
5. She was the first high-elf banshee ever created by the Scourge.
Banshees are powerful and great, but scary.
Arthas wanted to see her suffer for all the fight she gave on Quel’Thalas. She was given powers far beyond other banshees had to force her to do Arthas’ will while she forced her to attack her own kind.
6. Escaped from Arthas’ control.
Sylvanas is aware of her great power and how to match her armor with hoodie.
As Arthas’ power decreased, Sylvanas broke free of his control and recovered her physical body using the powers granted. She wore her own skin again, cold as night, but more powerful than ever.
7. Revenge is a dish best served cold.
I wonder if Sylvanas is aware her eyes match Horde's color.
Once having the opportunity, she poisoned an arrow that pierced Arthas. As he asked for a clean death, Sylvanas reminded him of the same words to her when she requested the same. Now, it was her turn to make him suffer.
8. Queen of the Forsaken.
Even the Forsaken's banner has Sylvanas tears and angryness.
Arthas escaped with the help of the necromancer Kel’Thuzad making Sylvanas withdraw her torture. She gathered other undead to fight the Scourge and established the Forsaken, one of the playable races in World of Warcraft in the Horde faction.
9. Time for revenge, but failed again.
Too bad Sylvanas couldn't kill Arthas, that would be a good last view.
Once on the frozen throne to take revenge on the Lich King Arthas, Sylvanas realized another king was sitting on the throne. Arthas was defeated by the heroes of Azeroth. Her life purpose of getting revenge failed and she had no reason to live anymore, she failed again on her quest. This pushed her to jump from the frozen throne and once again, die.
10. Death again, rise once more.
I don't complain, but Sylvanas just can't die.
Sylvanas didn’t die immediately. Powerful beings known as the val’kyr showed her a vision of the future, of what is to come. After that, the val’kyr offered her a bargain, their souls bound to hers in exchange for a new life. She accepted and returned to dedicate herself to a new plan, a plan that will change the world of Azeroth forever.
There you have it, 10 important things you need to know about Sylvanas. She has one of the major arcs a character has been given through the entire franchise and in this last expansion, her new plan was unveiled.
