[Top 5] Path of Exile Best Berserker Builds That Wreck Hard!

Berserker is one of those Ascendancies that focuses so much on damage that even though it’s not as played as it once was, there’s always a place for him in the meta, and with new uniques and Eldritch implicits that came with Patch 3.17 Archnemesis League, several new builds saw light and here are some of the best!

5 – Rage Vortex

Rage Vortex against Baran

If you want a build that can demolish all the content with a shout and a spin, this one is for you. With the introduction to Eldritch Implicits, this build has a substantially easier time achieving the Crit it needed through Brittle Ground, as well as boosting warcries and Rage generation, which is always a boon for this build.

What the Rage Vortex Berserker Excels in:

  • League Start friendly;
  • Tanky with various layers of defense;
  • Can do ridiculous amounts of damage to bosses.

Rage Vortex full details:

  • This build works by spending Rage to cast the Rage Vortex, and for each point of Rage spent, you deal more damage. So we stack as much maximum rage as possible, with unique items and passive tree nodes, to reach 110 maximum Rage;
  • With the Redblade Banner alongside Warbringer ascendancy node, we get instant maximum Rage and absurdly powerful Exerted attacks, which increases both the AoE and damage of Rage Vortex;
  • The frequent use of Enduring Cry makes it so we get a lot of life regeneration, and together with the Endurance Charges and the screen clear, we are very safe and tanky, especially since we attack from a distance.

4 – Infernal Cry Shield Crush Zerker

Shield Crush against Chateau Boss

If you want a tankier version of Berserker, which tends to be paper-thin, this one is for you. We combine several synergistic elements in the three and gear in order to deal as much damage as possible while retaining a substantial amount of tankiness.

What the Infernal Cry Shield Crush Zerker Excels in:

  • Quite tanky with 50/50 Block, 40k Armor and over 7k eHP.
  • Has a respectable single target
  • The clearing is quite satisfying with Infernal Cry’s explosions and lots of movement speed.
  • Can do all content with proper gear!

Infernal Cry Shield Crush full details:

  • The way this build works is like a true melee, shield charging through packs and exploding them in fiery explosions, triggered by our Infernal Cry. We stack a bunch of Warcry Speed and use 4 different Warcries in the build. It’s a very active playstyle that really makes you work for it.
  • Our damage comes mostly from our shield. We want a shield with as much Armor and/Evasion as possible. Having a 5% Life Gained on Block is also crucial, as that’s a massively important aspect to boost our survivability.
  • Another way to boost our defense, besides being 50/50 Block capped, lots of life, armor, and high maximum elemental resistance, we also can get a lot of Spell Suppression, becoming a veritable walking fortress!

3 – Sweep Rage Stacking

Sweep in Maven's Crucible

A blast from the past, despite all the tribulations Sweep has gone through, it is still a viable skill and the Berserker is the only Ascendancy that has the inherent damage and attack speed to make it feel good to use, with his strong Rage Effect and free base damage!

What the Sweep Rage Stacking Excels in:

  • Quite tanky, with lots of armour and Brass Dome
  • Respectable Clearing, jumping from pack to pack
  • Good Single Target damage
  • League starter viable

Sweep Rage Stacking full details:

  • We use a Two-handed Fleshripper, to boost our critical damage, and we reach 100% impale, as that’s a big part of our damage, reaching over 2 million DPS.
  • Our defenses come mostly from stacking a lot of Armor, Brass Dome’s 5% Max elemental resistance, and immunity to Critical damage, which is a massive defensive boost.
  • This is a fantastically cheap build, capable of being a league starter and doing all content in the game with proper investment. We stack as much Rage as possible, using Bear’s Girdle and in the passive tree as well, to attack as quickly as possible and deal as much damage as possible.

2 – The Warbringer Slaming Zerker

Ground Slam's insane AoE

One of the truest forms of melee is the Slammer, and this build makes it so you’re essentially breaking down a whole screen of monsters in front of you with a single slam! It’s relatively tanky while dealing absurd amounts of damage considering the kind of build it is, and as such, you can even League start with it!

What the Warbringer Slaming Zerker Excels in:

  • League Start and SSF capable
  • Can do all content
  • Good clearing with screen-wide AoE
  • Simple to scale and progress

Warbringer Slaming Zerker full details:

  • You’ll want a Tidebreaker for maximum damage and stunning, because we’re capable of stun-locking even bosses! But if you don’t have one, any high Physical 2Handed Mace will do the trick. The bigger, the better! Attack speed is good, but not super required.
  • For our defense, you have several options for body armour, and it’s quite flexible. You can go for a Kaom’s Heart, Loreweave, SporeGuard, or even a Brass Dome, for uber tankyness, with over 4k base armour, 5% Maximum Ele Resist and Immunity to Critical strike!
  • With Forbidden Jewels, you can even ‘yoink’ some nodes from Juggernaut or Chieftain, to massively improve your damage, AoE, or defense! The sky’s the limit with this build!

1 – Omni Consecrated Path

Consecrated Path in Maven's Crucible

By far one of, if not the, most broken amulet in the game right now, introduced this patch, 3.17 Archnemesis, Crystalized Omniscience is a beauty of overpowered stats. It grants you Triple Elemental Resistance essentially for free, while also giving you as much Elemental Pen, just by Stacking attributes! Of course this amulet was abused throughout this League, and will continue to be so!

What the Omni Consecrated Path Excels in:

  • Fantastic build for Boss Rushing (a new strategy in this game in 3.17)
  • Can do all content
  • Has good survivability
  • Fun to jump from pack to pack while dealing tons of damage!

Omni Consecrated Path full details:

  • Crystalized Omniscience makes it so every attribute you get becomes Omniscience, and for every 10 Omni, you get 1% Ele Pen and 1% Ele res (Triple for both). This means that you don’t really have to care at all about elemental resistance or penetration, as this single amulet will take care of it for you. All you need to do is stack as much Attributes as possible, through your gear and passive tree.
  • With Consecrated Path, you deal Damage as you move, similarly to Flicker Strike, and you can jump from pack to pack, making this build great for Boss Rushing. That’s a new strategy that arose from the Atlas Passive changes, where it became extremely profitable to simply rush the boss, kill it, and leave the map. You essentially over-sustain on maps and you can get a bunch of Boss Maps like that.
  • For damage, using the cheap Frostbreath Mace, which doubles damage if the enemies are chilled, is fantastic. Just spec into the Mace Mastery, and boom, you have the BiS weapon in the game.
