Knights are commonly portrayed in games as law-abiding citizens that preserve peace and order in the community. Although this description may be true in some Knights, the Knights in MTG are a different breed. They are seen as creatures that are not that strong alone but when bonded together with other Knights they become forces to be reckoned with. Here is the list of the best Knights in the Arena that you can build your deck around.

15. Venerable Knight

What’s great about this card?

  • Venerable Knight is a noble creature as it can give you value even when it dies
  • With it being a 2/1 creature for 1-mana, you can easily swing at your opponent and deal early damage
  • You can also use this to chump block and boost another creature you have on the board with its +1/+1 counter

Value (TCG Median): $0.25

14. Embereth Shieldbreaker

What’s great about this card?

  • A 2/1 creature for 2 mana is a good draw for any aggro deck
  • Embereth Shieldbreaker focuses on attacking the opponent early on and is always a good target for Auras and Equipments
  • You can also deal with mirror matches with the Adventure portion of this deck as it destroys artifacts

Value (TCG Median): $0.25

13. Basri’s Lieutenant

What’s great about this card?

  • Basri’s Lieutenant provides good value when it enters the battlefield as well as when your creatures leave
  • Basri’s Lieutenant can give any of your creatures a +1/+1 counter when it enters the battlefield
  • It also gives you a 2/2 Knight when a creature with a +1/+1 counter dies
  • Aside from these advantages, having the protection from multicolored spells and creatures also gives Basri’s Lieutenant a good advantage on the battlefield

Value (TCG Median): $0.50

12. Stormfist Crusader

What’s great about this card?

  • Knight decks are not known for their card advantage as they usually rely on the synergy of their cards to win games
  • Stormfist Crusader allows you to draw an additional card on each of your turns. This will allow you to dig for your more powerful Knights more easily.
  • The downside of this card is that it also gives your opponent an extra card draw and it also pings both players for 1 damage which may be crucial especially against aggressive mirror matches

Value (TCG Median): $1.00

11. Benalish Marshal

What’s great about this card?

  • Although difficult to cast in multicolored decks, Benalish Marshall is still a powerful knight when placed in mono-white decks
  • At three mana, it is easy to cast and you are guaranteed to get some advantage with it
  • It is a decent body on both attacks and blocks but most importantly, it makes all your creatures more powerful

Value (TCG Median): $0.71

10. Wintermoor Commander

What’s great about this card?

  • Having a decent body for blocking is important when you’re facing a deck that has huge creatures
  • Wintermoor Commander can always stay back in defense with its high toughness (given that you have a lot of Knights on the board)
  • Against opponents with a less intimidating board state, you can also attack with Wintermoor Commander and give one of your creatures indestructibility until the end of the turn

Value (TCG Median): $0.25

9. Smitten Swordmaster

What’s great about this card?

  • As a creature, Smitten Swordmaster is not that powerful. However, the Adventure part of this card is the reason why it is on this list
  • This sorcery can become a win condition if you have a lot of Knights on the board as it will deal damage to your opponent, and gain you life, equal to the number of Knights you control

Value (TCG Median): $0.19

8. Worthy Knight

What’s great about this card?

  • Having cards that give value whenever you cast other spells is always a good thing to have
  • Worthy Knight should be a staple in any Knight deck because it allows you to build an army easily with the tokens it can generate
  • You can easily double the size of your board by simply casting your Knight spells with Worthy Knight on board

Value (TCG Median): $0.59

7. Inspiring Veteran

What’s great about this card?

  • Inspiring Veteran is a cheap creature that offers a ton of value on your battlefield
  • Whether you are using the Mardu or Boros iteration of the Knights deck, Inspiring Veteran is a staple
  • It can give you a lethal attack from out of nowhere, allowing you to catch your opponent by surprise

Value (TCG Median): $0.25

6. Acclaimed Contender

What’s great about this card?

  • Digging for your important pieces is essential in synergy-based decks like Knights
  • Acclaimed Contender is a powerful piece as it allows you to take a Knight, Aura, or Equipment card from the top five cards of your library
  • This sort of ability is great as it will accelerate your progress in building a good board state

Value (TCG Median): $0.85

5. Midnight Reaper

What’s great about this card?

Value (TCG Median): $0.89

4. Fervent Champion

What’s great about this card?

  • A staple in Knight decks, Fervent Champion is an early threat that cashes in on its advantage in the middle game
  • You can start dealing damage with this in an empty board to force your opponent to react early
  • Of course, Knights and Equipments almost always go together so having Fervent Champion will reduce the Equip cost for your powerful Equipment and Artifacts

Value (TCG Median): $0.48

3. Knight of Autumn

What’s great about this card?

  • Whatever you need in a particular situation, Knight of Autumn can surely provide
  • It can enter the battlefield as a 4/3 creature, it can give you 4 life, and it can also destroy your opponent’s artifacts and enchantments
  • One thing’s for sure, Knight of Autumn will never be a dead draw in any situation

Value (TCG Median): $2.16

2. Murderous Rider

What’s great about this card?

  • Murderous Rider is a decent creature to have with its flying and lifelink abilities but there is more to it than just that
