Gold is a valuable resource in Marvel Snap. It’s used for only 3 things, but the game still has a lot of room to grow. Whether it’s buying cosmetics or making your progress in the game quicker, gold will help you do that.

3. Buying Variants

Purchasing new variants for gold just has to be at number 3. You receive virtually nothing except a cool cosmetic. And while some variants are epic, some are funny and some are very cool, this doesn’t help you progress in the game in any way.

Of course, I’m not saying don’t buy variants, if you really want a cool new variant for your favorite cards, you should get it, but it’s not the most economical way to spend your gold.

2. Buying Credits

Another use for gold is buying credits. Credits are the most useful currency in the game since spending them to upgrade your cards is the way to level up your collection level and unlock the cards necessary for building stronger decks.

The only reason why purchasing credits is number 2 is because there’s a slightly more economic way to get credits (and even other resources) by spending the same amount of gold.

1. Mission Refills

When I was a beginner at the game, I scoffed at the thought of spending gold for Mission Refills, but once I really thought about it, I realized they are the best way to get credits and even random variants.

When you refill your missions, you’ll be getting the credits after you complete each mission, but you will also get a little bit of Season Pass XP. Which will help you finish the pass quicker and start unlocking the Season Caches earlier.

The sooner you finish the pass, the sooner you can start opening Season Caches which can give you amazing value. You can get gold, credits and variants from these caches which can help you level up more quickly (and look stylish while doing it). And it’s way more economic to get the Variants from these caches than outright buying them.

At the end of the day, it’s up to you how you choose to spend your gold. If you see a variant you really want in the shop - buy it, you only live once. But if you would rather progress through the game a bit faster and use your resources to their fullest potential, consider slowly grinding away the missions.
