The advent of the current Final Fantasy XIV, Endwalker, has drastically altered many fight jobs, including Tanks, Healers, and DPS vocations. The game has not only added new skills for leveling these fight jobs up to the new level cap of 90, but it has also altered, eliminated, and added many new talents for these jobs at lower levels. Summoner, for example, has seen a significant improvement in all of its rotations and summoning abilities.
With the release of the Savage Raids, players have been attempting to determine which fight task they want to take seriously in this tier, particularly for end-game raiders. With the addition of two new vocations to explore and dabble with, Sage and Reaper, this decision may become more difficult than ever.
This is especially true for DPS players, who now have a whopping eleven DPS battle roles to pick from, including five melee DPS, three ranged DPS, and three magical DPS (four if you include Blue Mage, but they sadly could not do any content above level 71).
This post will attempt to assist you in making that selection by highlighting some of the most fascinating and hard-hitting DPS as of Patch 6.05!
7. Summoner
Summoner’s three Primal Phases.
The drastic modifications to the Summoner have sparked heated controversy among many Summoner players in FFXIV. In fact, the fighting job may have seen the most modifications in the current update. Many players and streamers were initially ecstatic about the new changes, as evidenced by their response videos when the job teaser was originally revealed.
However, the new modifications' simplified rotation has generated waves of discontent among Summoner players who were used to the sophisticated, demanding gameplay of the job to attain optimum DPS. Despite this, Summoner remains one of the Best DPS in 2022 for a number of reasons.
Why Summoner is one of the best DPS:
- Summoners feel much more like the Summoners from the old Final Fantasy series, which is a big reason why this change is still accepted by some others.
- Summoners now have five different phases of rotation, and it can be exciting to explore and see the explosive visual effects.
- Summoners can actually now summon the real version of the primals, mainly Garuda, Titan, and Ifrit.
- It is more beginner friendly and still does good damage.

6. Samurai
The Warrior of Light getting ready to unleash their ultimate skill.
Since its inception, Samurai has been regarded as one of the most powerful melee jobs available, and this remains true in Endwalker. The new expansion has brought a number of new skills and powers that may improve a Samurai's gameplay even further.
Why Samurai is one of the best DPS now:
- More variety in combos with the addition of the new skills and the tweak to Shoha and the addition of the Meditation Gauge.
- Better AoE skills, especially in late game, in order to kill mobs in dungeons faster.
- Add a stack of Meikyo Shisui, enabling a Samurai to burst even harder now.

5. Black Mage
A Black Mage weaves the power of magic to deal big damage.
Black Mage has traditionally been one of the most powerful DPS jobs, especially when done correctly. It is similar to a Samurai in that Black Mage is renowned to be the hardest-hitting caster in the game, and it may continue to be such for the time being.
Why Black Mage is one of the best DPS:
- Big damage even after some nerf of some of their skills.
- Slightly easier to move with the addition of Paradox
- Flashy, powerful skills that utilizes many elements and can be explored further for the best playstyle per player.
- Amplifier helps with being able to deal more damage because it grants a stack of Polyglot instantly.

4. Bard
A Bard uses their skills to help their allies and attack their enemies.
Bard is known as one of the least played Physical Ranged DPS in the Shadowbringers expansion, but its popularity has skyrocketed since the release of Endwalker.
Why Bard is one of the best DPS right now:
- One of the best Physical Ranged DPS to play right now, for both end-game and casual content because of the changes to cooldown to fit in other job’s buff alignments.
- Longer song time and DoTs, meaning they are able to do more skills during that period of extended time.
- Damage boost for some skills, such as Apex Arrow, as well as the addition of new skills that deal a lot of damage and give damage buff to themselves and their party members.

DPS Rating: 83/100
3. Monk
Monk is a DPS job that utilizes their inner strength and body to deal damage to the enemies.
Monk is widely regarded as the most difficult Melee DPS to play in Shadowbringers, owing to the fact that it has the most positional skills compared to other Melee DPS occupations, making it difficult to do optimal damage when something goes wrong. Endwalker, on the other hand, has drastically altered this.
Why Monk is one of the best DPS now:
- The deletion of a lot of positionals needed for many skills, making it easier to deal more damage and not break combo.
- Extended the duration for each form of the Monk, making it easier to hold their combo in dungeons and trials with some gap of time between the fights.
- The addition of new skills that deal a lot of damage to the enemies in both AoE and single target attacks.

DPS Rating: 87/100
2. Red Mage
Red Mage, also known as the most versatile Battle Job.
Red Mage has always been a strong competitor for one of the strongest DPS in a variety of solo and progression content, and it has finally risen to the top of the Endwalker DPS lists.
Why Red Mage is one of the best DPS right now:
- The tweak to Acceleration and adding a stack to their movement skills makes it easier for Red Mage to move around the arena and dodge mechanics as a caster while still dealing a lot of damage.
- The revamp to Manafication and Embolden, as well as lowering the need to have both black and white mana at 80 to 50 to do a complete Melee Combo rotation makes Red Mage be able to deal much more damage.
- Much stronger AoE skills as now their AoE Melee Attack can also trigger the Melee Combo rotation, allowing them to still deal optimal damage without overcapping their Mana unlike in Shadowbringers.

DPS Rating: 92/100
1. Reaper
The newest DPS battle job on the roster, Reaper, has won the trophy of best DPS.
It's no surprise that new Battle Jobs have always gotten special treatment in order to entice more people to check them out, and Reaper and Sage are no different. Reaper is now the best DPS that deals an amazing amount of damage in any content for a variety of reasons.
Why Reaper is the best DPS right now:
- Probably has the best AoE damage and abilities compared to other Melee Jobs, especially at lower levels.
- Their single target skills also have high potency with little chance to clip and mess up once a player learns their rotation properly, allowing them to deal more damage much easier.
- Strong buffs to shield themselves as well as increase damage dealt for themselves and the rest of their party, allowing them to have utility in raid progression.
