Whether it’s for cash or for a shot at those big trophy wins, Far Cry 5 offers a lot in the way of hunting and fishing locations. From Bison to Arctic Grayling, the list of animals you can catch for sale runs in abandon! Given the expanse of Hope County one needs to know where to find each of these beasties and map locations can be difficult to procure. So how do you know where to start? Of course, right here, with the list of the top ten hunting locations in Far Cry 5.
PSA: It is highly suggested that you bring Jess Black with you as a hunting companion. It also would be recommended to procure the Harvest Master perk, as it will double your loot from all animals, as well as the Journey Pack perk, to higher your available inventory area for bait, skins and feathers.

10. Moonflower Trailer Park
Location of Moonflower Trailer Park.
If you’re into smaller game, this is the spot for you. Keep in mind, smaller game, smaller rewards. Having said that, repetition here will still get you some fast cash, as long as you’re as fast as the hares you’re hunting.

9. Davenport Farm
Location of Davenport Farm.
In the spirit of the American dream, we have to get ourselves some red meat. No better location to do so than at the Davenport Farm, a haven for cows…until you come along….
What makes Davenport Farm great:
- Great place to hunt cows given large abundance
- Large amount of them so can you get a lot of money
- Large amount of them so can you get a lot of bait for other hunting expeditions
8. US Auto Fields
Location of US Auto.
After liberating US Auto (explanation of how to do this is included in this link), you’ll get access to the abundance of animals that can be found north and northwest of this location. Just make sure you don’t let a wolverine ambush you….
What makes US Auto Fields great:
- A great and easy location to find alpha wolverines
- Shop right next to US Auto so selling your catch is easy
- Fast travel is available to this location which saves a lot of time
7. Langford Lake
Location of Langford Lake.
Although deer can be found everywhere through the woods of Hope County, Langford Lake is where deer would go on summer vacation…if they were sentient enough to figure that out…
What makes Langford Lake great:
- Great location for deer hunting, including alpha variants
- There are a few vendors close by for easy selling
- Fast travel location close by
6. Rae-Rae’s Pumpkin Field
Location of Rae-Rae's Pumpkin Field.
An interestingly named place with an interesting crop of animals to be found there. You can pick pumpkins…or you can pick off an Eagle or two….
What makes Rae-Rae’s Pumpkin Field great:
- Eagles are found here and in the fields south of this location in large numbers
- Turkeys are here in large numbers
- Fast travel location nearby

5. Island near the Fang Center
Location of Island near Fang Center.
Bring Cheeseburger back to his hometown and go hunting on this island! Just make sure you sell your loot before he eats it....
What makes Fang Center great:
- Has a variety of Caribou bear deer wolves
- Lake trout are abundant here and in great size
- Hunter in area to sell loot to is always there
- Island geography keeps game you are hunting close to you at all times
4. Taft Lookout Tower
Location of Taft Lookout Tower.
Taft Lookout Tower is a great location for views as well as hunting. Lookout for some of the best money you can make hunting!
What makes Taft Lookout Tower great:
- Alpha Moose location which is very profitable and great for trophies
- Alpha deer location which sell for a lot of money and a great trophy
- Other moose, deer, cougar, bear, and wolves available here
- Hunters nearby to sell loot to at all times
- Jess will one shot moose most of the time if selected as companion
- Wolves only come if you throw bait, so be sure to stock up before going here

3. Harris Residence
Location of the Harris Residence.
Get on up on that roof and just sit and wait for the greatest hunting experience of your life. Just make sure you don't knock over the ladder climbing down to get your massive trophies!

- Lots of alpha animals in this area which are great for sale and trophies
- Large abundance of animals around besides alphas which still make you large amounts of money

You won’t find any widows here, unless you’re referring to the wives of the animals you’re hunting….

- Can sell loot at car shop nearby that always is open to sell anytime
1. Upper Mountain Lake Near Rattlesnake Trail Bridge
Location of lake near Rattlesnake Trail Bridge.
The best location to hunt in this game, this lake behind Rattlesnake Trail Bridge is a hunters’ paradise. From fishing to hunting land, sky and sea, come for the hunt and stay for the scenery.
What makes Rattlesnake Trail Bridge great:
- Arctic grayling are in the lake in abundance which sell for a high amount
- Great vendor spot to sell right by the lake that is always there
- Easily can move around the lake and repeat and if you miss an animal it is very probable you will see something else shortly after
