There is no shortage of unique killers to choose from in Dead by Daylight. Whether you enjoy playing a killer with high mobility who can stay on top of survivors or a killer who is deadly from afar, you have plenty of great options to choose from.

Each killer has a unique power that differs from the others. There are some killers with similar powers, but no one power is exactly the same.

Are some killers more fun than others? While that is a very opinionated question, I have created a list of 10 killers that are generally considered the most fun to play by the community. There are many killers who are not on this list but could be.

The Mastermind (Albert Wesker) is an honorable mention here. His gameplay is very rewarding and allows for great chases. Many players also love him because of his character. Both killer players and survivor players seem to enjoy him quite a bit.

10. The Wraith

The Wraith is one of the easiest, if not the easiest, killer in the entire game.

The Wraith being so accessible for beginners allows them to learn the fundamentals of Dead by Daylight. Not only is learning the game a fun experience for a lot of players, but as a beginner, this killer gives you the best chance of winning.

On top of his convenience for beginners, The Wraith offers a stealthy playstyle. You can jumpscare survivors on generators and get easy hits and potentially downs. Many players enjoy the stealthy playstyle and catching players by surprise.

The Wrath is not a flashy killer or a killer with a high skill ceiling, but he is decently strong, beginner-friendly, and fun to play for people who enjoy a stealthy playstyle.

9.  The Deathslinger

The Deathslinger is a deadly ranged killer who uses a harpoon gun to inflict damage on survivors.

Not only is he pretty strong, but he is very fun to play if you enjoy the ranged playstyle. Shooting survivors and reeling them in to land a hit or a down is very satisfying. Much like The Huntress or The Trickster, The Deathslinger requires good aim to use his power to its fullest potential.

The Deathslinger is a unique killer and the only killer in the game with an ADS mechanic. If you come from FPS games, this may be the killer for you.

8. The Artist

The Artist is one of the strongest killers in Dead by Daylight. She has one of the most versatile powers in the game.

She has strong anti-loop, information gathering, slowdown, and ranged damage all in one kit. The Artist has so much at her disposal, and her power works for nearly every situation. She can injure and down survivors across the map and through any obstacle in the game. Landing snipes with the artist or using her “slingshot” technique is a ton of fun. The Artist also functions as a ranged killer; however, her power is more than just ranged damage.

If you are looking for a versatile killer who can compete against any team of survivors, The Artist is a great option.

7. The Onryō

The Onryō, better known as Sadako, is one of my personal favorite killers in Dead by Daylight. She has a ton of map mobility, decent stealth, and an awesome niche where she can mori survivors.

This killer is a ton of fun to play if you enjoy being able to force survivors into bad situations. By teleporting around the map, you can spread “condemn”, which when built up, puts survivors at risk of being killed.

The satisfaction of getting a “condemn” kill is awesome, and the animation is so faithful to the Ringu movies. Her stealthy aspect allows for sneaky plays as well.

If you enjoy niche powers, you may find yourself having fun as The Onryō.

6. The Trickster

The Trickster is a blast to play if you enjoy damaging players from afar without having to be super great with aim. This killer throws knives at a rapid rate to get his injures and downs.

Being able to down players in rapid succession feels so rewarding and makes this killer a blast to play. While he is not very fun for the other side, as a killer player, you will likely have fun if this fits your playstyle.

I would not recommend The Trickster for console players. Console players have a harder time managing the recoil, and he is extremely hard to play with a controller. Other than that, if you want an easier-ranged option, The Trickster is a good choice.

5. The Oni

The Oni is a destructive killer. His high mobility and lethality allow for tons of fun. Flying around the map with a controllable one-shot is so much fun.

The combination of speed and power on this killer is truly devastating. He is a very strong killer in chases, and he ends them very quickly. The Oni is sitting comfortably in the meta as well, being one of the stronger killers in Dead by Daylight. Survivors also think pretty highly of The Oni, considering him to be a fun killer to play against.

If you like mobility and the ability to one shot survivors, The Oni might be the killer for you.

4. The Hillbilly

The Hillbilly is one of the most beloved killers by the Dead by Daylight community. He is loved for both his balanced gameplay and thrilling power.

Both playing as and against The Hillbilly is a blast for many players. His power is a ton of fun. It allows him to traverse the map and down survivors instantly.. Similarly to The Oni, he has both mobility and lethality. However, unlike The Oni, The Hillbilly does not have to work for his power, but his power is much harder to use. The skill ceiling for this killer is also pretty large. Good players know how to “curve” their power, and down players.

If you are looking for a killer with a high skill ceiling who is fun to play, The Hillbilly is a great option.

3. The Nurse

The Nurse is the strongest killer in the entire game, without question. She possesses the power to almost entirely ignore the game's basic design. The Nurse can blink to an area, passing through all terrain. So she can essentially ignore loops.

This killer is very hard for survivors to play against when played well. A lot, if not most, survivor players dislike playing against The Nurse. As a killer player, if you wanted to just roll through games, this is the best killer to do just that.

The difference between a good player on this killer and a bad one is night and day. If you are looking for a killer with the highest potential to win, The Nurse is undoubtedly the best.

2. The Blight

The Blight is the hardest killer in the game, if not The Hillbilly. The Blight is also just a little behind The Nurse in terms of strength. What makes this killer so fun is how fast paced his gameplay is and how much there is to learn.

You can learn so many techniques, and bouncing off walls like a lunatic is fun for many players. The fact that this killer has such a high skill ceiling is also one of the reasons why many people main him. He is extremely meta as well, completely dismantling even the best teams of survivors.

The Blight is probably the most similar to The Nurse. You have to be really good at him to use him to his fullest potential. If you want either a meta killer or a high-skill ceiling, The Blight is the best choice.

1. The Huntress

The Huntress is so simple but so strong. She is easy to pick up, but hard to master. Much like many of the killers on this list, The Huntress has a high skill ceiling.

There is nothing like chucking a hatchet 100 feet away and hitting a survivor. The Huntress has become one of the game’s most iconic killers and is so much fun to play. She requires the most aim out of any killer, and similarly to The Deathslinger, if you play FPS games, you may gravitate towards this killer.

From her simple design to her skill ceiling, many players choose to main this killer. The Huntress is one of the most popular killers in the game, and for good reason. It is such a dopamine rush to land Call of Duty-level snipes with this killer.

Due to how satisfying her gameplay is, I would consider her arguably the most fun killer in the game. Survivors also tend to enjoy juking and predicting your hatchets; however, her hitboxes due to the servers feel pretty bad to play against at times.
