This is something we should all be well accustomed to in Dead By Daylight when playing as a survivor. Although it might not be something we’re all good at, we’ve all tried it. Stealth: Attempting to hide from the killer. Though it may have worked sometimes before the killer was able to find you, not so much when they do. But what if that could change…? Today we’ll be looking over perk builds that’ll allow you to effectively disappear from a chase and vanish from the killer’s line of sight, all the while staying under their noses.

5. Completely Silent Build

Starting strong, we have the Completely Silent Build provided to us by Youtuber and streamer PROBZZ, allowing him to escape a chase despite being hit, wounded, and leaving both blood and scratch marks everywhere. The build allows for a survivor to escape after jumping from fall distance while the survivor makes not a single noise except for their footfalls.

What the Completely Silent build excels In:

  • Escaping a chase with the speed boost and stagger recovery of Balance landing.
  • Not a single noise at all when wounded, leaving the killer to find you only from scratch marks and bloody trails, the latter of which can be difficult to track.
  • Fast vaulting and quick locker hiding are completely silent, even while wounded, thanks to Quick & Quiet.
  • Bird lovers get to run around freely without disturbing the local wildlife made by The Entity.

Build details:

  • Quick & Quiet – This perk allows for a fast vault or locker hiding without a loud noise notification, only carrying a cooldown of 30/25/20 seconds based on its level, and allows one to hide in lockers in complete silence.
  • Iron Will – While wounded, grunts of pain are reduced by 50/75/100% to avoid giving away one’s position through sound.
  • Balance Landing – After falling, stagger is reduced by 75%, movement speed increased by 150% for 3 seconds, and no grunts of exertion from the fall. Caused exhaustion for 60/50/40 seconds.
  • Calm Spirit – Reduced chance of alerting crows by 70/80/95% unless stepped on and suppresses the urge to scream at all times.

4. Vault and Vanish

A similar build to the previous one for those who like using windows to give the killer the slip would easily be what I’d call “Vault and Vanish” personally. Youtuber and streamer Jparla (Do recommend you go check him out) uses his build to keep his character completely silent when wounded and to disappear a few seconds after vaulting windows.

What the Vault and Vanish build excels In:

  • Leave no scratch marks or noise notification after a fast window vault, which killers can’t easily get through, allowing time to slip away even while running.
  • Once more not a single noise at all when wounded, leaving the killer to find you only from scratch marks and bloody trails, the latter of which can be difficult to track. Trust me, audio is vital to know in this game.
  • Although built around vaulting, locker hiding quickly is still viable with Quick & Quiet, giving you the option in the case of an emergency. Beware of scratch marks.

  • Dance With Me – After a rushed vault or quick leaving a locker, no scratch marks are left for 3 seconds, with cooldowns of 60/50/40 seconds.
  • Calm Spirit – Reduced chance of alerting crows by 70/80/95% unless stepped on and suppresses the urge to scream at all times.

3. Instant-Vanishing Build

Here we have another build by Youtuber and streamer PROBZZ using a set of perks, the name referring to his comment stating the amount of instant-vanishing value obtained from his build. Differing from your usual stealth setup, this build is set for you to take a chase when the time comes, and should you be unable to lose the killer and take a hit, your chance to vanish presents itself upon the very hit. Don’t forget to pack the Emergency Med-kit with the add-ons shown.

What the Instant-Vanishing build excels In:

  • Escaping a chase with the speed boost of Overcome and the no traces, visual or audial.
  • Quick & Quiet once more allows for you to take a window quickly and quietly (pun not intended), the same goes for a locker if you end up in a situation that warrants it.
  • Lucky Break gives you a lucky break (pun intended) with no scratch marks or blood pools, leaving you to slip away behind obstacles and patch yourself.

  • Overcome – When injured, maintain your speed boost for an additional 2 seconds, and gain exhaustion for 60/50/40 seconds.
  • Lucky Break – While in the injured state, suppresses all your pool of blood and scratch marks for 40/50/60 seconds until depleted, healed, or put into the dying/downed state.

2. Slow and Steady

Despite being a few years old, this build still holds relevance in its mechanics. Youtuber Tithi demonstrates the use of this build, showing that using this build entails crouching everywhere with your increased movement speed to avoid detection if the killer’s nearby. If you do get spotted, you have an exhaustion perk to quickly make distance and slip away, and better opportunities of recovering your exhaustion perk by the use of your heightened walk speed.

What the Completely Silent build excels In:

  • Stay low and quiet with the use of Urban Evasion, keeping you well hidden behind low cover and maneuvering at a good speed with little to no footsteps heard.
  • A fast escape upon running you to get away should you be discovered, allowing you to escape much easier and easier time recovering with a faster than normal walking speed.
  • Works even when wounded thanks to Iron Will, minus the blood trails left however, you’re still unlikely to be discovered by all but a perceptive killer.

Build details:

  • Fixated – Walk 10/15/20% faster and grants you the ability to see your scratch marks.
  • Iron Will – While wounded, grunts of pain are reduced by 50/75/100% to avoid giving away one’s position through sound.
  • Sprint Burst – An exhaustion perk triggered upon running, allowing you to run at 150% of your movement speed for 3 seconds and causing exhaustion for 60/50/40 seconds.
  • Urban Evasion – Increases your crouching movement speed by 90/95/100%.

1. Silent Healing

Ending it off, we have another build from PROBZZ again with the silent healing build. As the name suggests, this build aims to patch yourself up or another under the nose of the killer, mainly yourself of course. This build has some of the funniest moves one can make, showing off the cleverest of tactics with the boldest of moves when one can heal quietly next to the killer with the latter being clueless about what’s happening just beside them across a wall or behind a loop. As always, don’t forget to pack your med kits full of charges!

What the Silent Healing build excels In:

  • The ability to escape a chase after a hit with no scratch marks or bloody trails, then muting your painful grunts when engaging in sweet, sweet healing.
  • Dead Hard to back you up should the killer catch up or outplay you, allowing you a second chance at getting away.
  • Faster action speed including vaulting and healing when wounded, complimenting all actions well, and serving the purpose of the build with bonus speed.

Build details:

  • Bite The Bullet – When healing yourself or another survivor, all grunts of pain and noises of healing are suppressed and failed skill checks when healing does not give loud notifications to the killer and only regresses healing by 3/2/1%.
  • Resilience – While wounded, almost all actions are increased by 3/6/9% when in the injured state.
  • Lucky Break – gives you a lucky break (pun intended) with no scratch marks or blood pools, leaving you to slip away behind obstacles and patch yourself.
  • Dead Hard – While wounded, hitting the activate ability button allows for a player to dash forward and avoid all damage temporarily, causing exhaustion for 60/50/40 seconds.

As always, these builds’ value would normally be subjective, but the actual application and usage of them demonstrated by the Youtubers and streamers shown does back up their value. Any combination of perks that aid to hide your visual and auditory trail can work as long as you’re able to find complimentary perks that in-tandem boost their effectiveness. Do note at the time of writing, there is a perk rework scheduled to be released, hence information regarding perks may differ at the time of reading, and only reflect their description at the time of writing.
